The Ecological Fund Office under the Office of the Secretary to the Federal Government (SGF) has visited Kebbi State for inspection and data capturing for the construction of culverts and stone bridges on a 10 kilometer road.
The work is expected to take-off from Corner Hotel, Badariya to Rugar Fulani and from Malala to Takalau to Kofa Sabuwa in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The head of inspection team and Staff Assistant under the officer of SGF, Mr Shehu Usman Bala Rabi said the project was an intervention of the third and fourth quota of 2022.
He explained that the work was meant to mitigate ecological problems in the affected areas.
The team leader appealed to the benefiting communities to extend all the necessary support and cooperation to the contractors to facilitate good and speedy job.
Conducting the delegation round the affected areas on behalf of the state government, the Secretary to Kebbi State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida assured the people of the area that government was determined to address their plights.
He said the essence of the inspection tour was to assess the level of ecological damage with a view to proffering solution.
The SSG assured the people that the state governor would key into the construction project in order to avert erosion problems and collapse of building in the areas.
Bala Tafida sought for more support and cooperation to government policies and programmes to enable the new administration under His Excellency, Dr Nasir Idris effectively deliver the dividends of democracy to all nuks and crannies of the state.
Responding on behalf of the benefiting communities, Malam Ayyuba Gamji Andi appreciated government for coming to their aid and prayed for more developmental projects in the area.
The SSG was accompanied by the Personal Assistant to the Governor Alhaji Aminu Musa
