The National Institute of Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS will hold a two day international women conference geared towards empowering women and shaping governance in Nigeria.
The program slated to mark the 2023 international Women's day will hold on the 23-24 with its theme, "Women Representation in Governance in Nigeria, Issues, Challenges and the way forward" will commence at 9 am daily, at NAF Conference Centre, Ahmadu Bello Way Jabi Abuja.
The special guest of honor at the occasion included Nigeria's first Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wife of the President, along with Senate President, Obong Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Tajudeen Abbas.
According to the Convener and Director General, National Institute of Legislative and Democratic Studies NILDS, Professor Abubakar Olarenwaju Sulaiman, the conference will be a platform for diverse stakeholders to come together to discuss critical issues sorrounding women participation and representation in governance in Nigeria.
Erelu Bisi Fayemi, former Ekiti state First Lady and President, African Women Development Fund will deliver the key note address.
Other participant will include women Politicians, female Parliamentarians from Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya and Uganda including Civil Society organisations CSO's along with other key stakeholders.
International Women Day IWD is set aside to deliberate on women issues through symposium, seminars and conferences among many others.
