MATAN appoints former First Ladies, Patient Jonathan, Merriam Abacha as Matrons.

The Market Traders Association of Nigeria (MATAN) has appointed two former President's wives, Mrs. Patience Jonathan and Mariam Abacha, as matrons of the association.

The traders' association's leadership, led by General Secretary, Ambassador Olakunle Moses Johnson, who also serves as Chairman of the VDI/MATAN project's Steering Committee, visited the former First Ladies' residences to inform them of the appointment and to discuss MATAN's FIRS/JTB VAT Direct Initiative collaborative project with them. 

Other MATAN leaders at the Abuja residence of the newly appointed Matron, Mrs. Patience Dame Jonathan, are MATAN B.O.T. Chairman, Alhaji Labaran Abubakar; Alhaji Sokoto, the Assistant National Secretary; MATAN P.R.O., Alhaji Sadiq; AMB Felix Johnson Osakwe, the association's Patron; Alhaja Mrs. Yesmen, a B.O.T. member; and Women FCT Coordinator, Alhaji Giwa, among others.

Also, other MATAN leaders who joined Ambassador Olakunle Johnson at the residence of the former military president's wife, Alhaja Mariam Abacha, are Amb. Felix Johnson Osakwe, Barrister Donald, and MATAN's national legal adviser.
