Multiple Season Farming; Ex- Federal Lawmaker, Centre Trains, Empowers And Donates Cash To Constituents

Despite been out of office, the immediate past member representing Dekina Bassa in the House of Representatives, Hassan Baiwa Abdullahi has promised to continue to empower youths in meaningful and gainful engagements for self sustenance , economic and social security.

He made this assertion on Sunday at the end of the four day training and empowerment of youths across the federal constituency with farming imputs and agricultural value-added materials in Anyigba, Dekina local government area of Kogi state.

Rt Honorable Baiwa  stressed the need to take youths off the streets from social vices not only through admonition, but meaningful engagements that will redefine their lives in all ramifications.

He promised to continue in that trend in and out office, as a social obligations to his immediate community, by extension, Dekina Bassa federal constituency and Kogi state at large .

The Lawmaker in the 9th Assembly commended the youths for embracing his new area of supports to communities, saying the adage of "teaching someone how to fish , is better than given you fish to eat."

He also expressed satisfaction over the large turn out of participants across board, saying that this will spur him to continue to do more to the populace .

Baiwa also lauded the National Productivity Centre NPC for the supports extended to the youths of Dekina Bassa that ensured the realization of his new area of given back to society,  in view of the present economic hardship.

He warned beneficiaries of the agricultural starter packs, fertilizers , insecticides, pesticides not to sell the items, stating that he will blacklist those who flouted his advice on this issue, stating that a machinery will be set in motion to carry out periodic supervision on the mode of utilisation of the items.

The former federal lawmaker maintained that the agricultural items is expected to revolutionized and boost both dry, raining and irrigation farming across the area, so as to attract bumper harvest and increased farming activities as well as reduced the current costs of food items both in the area, Kogi and Nigeria at large.

The training executed in conjunction with the National Productivity Centre NPC distributed various items to 210 beneficiaries including fertilizers, chemicals (pesticides and insecticides), among many others and cash donations to enable beneficiaries move the items back to their various destinations.

Certificates of participation was also issued to various beneficiaries after the four day event.
