The Director General, National Productivity Centre NPC, Dr Nasir Raji Mustapha said the choice of embracing science, technology and innovation was the outcome of over three decades research by the centre spanned from 1990-2020.
Dr Raji Mustapha who made the revelation while giving his vote of thanks to mark the two days 5th National Productivity Summit held at the NAF conference centre on Tuesday in Abuja, said this year's theme will be a veritable tool to drive the country's economy.
He stated that the choice of this year's theme, Science,Technology, and Innovation was meant to drive more on the application of the parlance.
The Director General maintained that the application of science, technology and innovation had simplified and unravelled beyond human input, saying technology is the life wire of both developed and developing world, therefore the need to redesign the approach to the new order, as Nigeria cannot afford this be in exception.
He said the National Productivity Centre NPC had adopted the input of technology in all it's activities, stating that all hands must be on deck to consolidate the positive effects of the new generation art.
Dr Mustapha stated that Nigeria cannot afford to be left behind in this regard, therefore stressing the Renewed Hope Agenda template of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to inculcating science, technology and innovation in all ramifications.
The NPC Director General asserted that with science and technology, the socioeconomic and political problems bedeviling the country will be resolved through in-depth investigation and research as well as arrived on a workable solutions.
While commending the Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, Minister of Labor and Employment, Rt Honorable Nkeiruka Chidubem Onyejeocha, Minister of interior, Olatunji Ojo and former Director's General , National Productivity Centre NPC for their contributions and took time to grace the event.
Highlights of the first day event was inspection of displayed exhibition stand at the occasion, and other activities of panelists.
