In a bid to improve revenue profile of the state and reduce incidence of accidents and criminalities associated with car theft, the enforcement of vehicle registration and renewals of papers has again been extended to North Bank Area, Makurdi in Benue State.
The exercise which began at the early hours of today recorded a lot of successes as vehicles were impounded for non registration of vehicles, expired drivers license and non renewal of vehicle papers and most of the vehicles were taken to the computerized vehicle Inspection workshop to undergo inspection and onward issuance of road worthiness certificates.
Speaking on behalf of the Ag.Chairman, Benue State Internal Revenue Service Mr.Emmanuel Agema FCTI,ASCON,CNA, Director,Other Revenue,Mrs. Lucia Aver Anumeh emphatically stated the Chairman's relentless commitment towards improving revenue generation in the state while encouraging motorists to register and renew car papers inorder to minimize theft and other criminal activities in the state.
While praising the Governor of Benue State, Gov.Hyacinth Iormem Alia for the massive construction of roads in the state, she urged the good people of Benue to register their vehicles and renew their papers inorder to have the rights to ply them.
She noted that, the enforcement exercise will sweep across all streets of Makurdi and no stone will be left unturned. She called on the good people of the state to register and renew their papers and ensure they are up to date with their particulars.
Speaking during the operation, The Chief Vehicle Inspection officer, Engr.Moses Ligom extolled the Governor of Benue State, Rev.Fr.Hyacinth Iomem Alia for prioritizing the safety of Benue Citizens. He called on all Vehicle owners, government officials, Private Car Owners, Commercial Transport companies to visit the computerized Vehicle Inspection workshop for inspection and onward insurance of road worthiness certificate.
