The Director and CEO of the French institute, Prof. Lateef Babatunde Ayeleru, while presenting the Fellowship Award, commended Hon. Sesi Whingan for his steadfastness in supporting the institution in growth and development, highlighting his contributions in the National Assembly and his dedication to the continuity of projects started by his predecessor, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe. Prof. Ayeleru described the award as a token of appreciation.
Also speaking, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, former House of Representatives, Badagry Federal Constituency and a fellow awardee, commended his successor Hon. Sesi Whingan in his acceptance speech for carrying on the projects he had started during his tenure, noting that Whingan has demonstrated character of a worthy successor that deserves the support of Badagry people and promised to continue collaborating for the constituency’s advancement.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Sesi Whingan expressed gratitude to the management of the Nigerian Institute of French Language Village for the honour bestowed on him, saying that the development of the institution is his top priority and that he will continue to support the growth of the institution, and congratulated his predecessor, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe and other co-awardees for the collective advancement of Badagry.

Sesi Whingan was born into the royal family of Maseno in Ikoga-Zebbe, in Badagry local government area of Lagos State, on the 22nd September, 1985
He completed his primary and secondary education at St. Benedette Nursery and Primary School and Ijemo Titun High School in Abeokuta, Ogun State, during the 1990s and 2000s. He then pursued his higher education at Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago Iwoye, Ogun State, where he bagged a degree in mass communication in 2009.
From 2003 to 2008, Hon. Sesi developed his expertise in communication and journalism at Paramount FM radio station and Gateway Mirror in Ogun State. He continued his education by obtaining a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Anglia Ruskin University in the United Kingdom.
Before he joined politics, Hon. Sesi Whingan served as the Managing Director of Pogs Luxury and as the Regional Manager and Partner of FAB Pharmaceutical Nigeria Limited, where he demonstrated strong business management and strategic planning skills.
Prior to Whingan's emergence as the House of Representatives member for Badagry Federal Constituency, he established the Sesi Whingan Foundation. A foundation through which he fed the poor and vulnerable persons through his social welfare initiatives, especially during the covid-19 pandemic; empowered women, youth and indigent constituents in Badagry.
Through his foundation, MHR Sesi rehabilitated many roads across the three local councils in Badagry Federal Constituency, Olorunda, Badagry West and Central; he refurbished and re-equipped public health facilities, supported security forces through donations, paid medical bills of indigent citizens, offer scholarship and other educational assistance to many youths in Badagry Federal Constituency.
One of the landmark initiatives of the Sesi Whingan Foundation is the establishment of free National Identification Number (NIN) registration centre, when government owned registration centre could not meet up with the demand of applicants. Over fifty thousand residents of Badagry have registered at the centre with zero cost.
The Sesi Whingan Foundation is still active, rendering social and humanitarian services to the people of Badagry.
He is happily married with children.
