An emerging report suggests that the Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun, has proposed a new minimum wage of $220 (approximately ₦105,000 per month) for Nigerian workers to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, meeting the 48-hour deadline, according to credible sources reported by Western Post.
It is understood that President Tinubu is currently reviewing the proposal, with an official announcement expected soon.
This development follows a strike by Labour Unions on Monday, after unsatisfactory results from their meeting with the National Assembly leadership. President Tinubu then gave the Finance Minister a 48-hour ultimatum to present a new minimum wage plan for Nigerian workers.
