In a press statement issue to the newsmen at the Ewu headquarter of the body by it's chairman, triple Chief Efeviroro Matex Edjuto and secretary of the body , Hon Evang Williams Odeavwarehor Aminugo faulted Delta State Gov' Sheriff Oborevwor for inability to conduct free, Fair and credible election held July 13 Saturday,2024

WITHDRAWAL FROM THE DELTA STATE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS DUE TO LACK OF CONFIDENCE IN THE OBOREVWORI'S ADMINISTRATION AND DSIEC who failed to CONDUCT, FREE , FAIR CREDIBLE ELECTIONS.
Efeviroro said, " some months ago the Delta State Government through the state Electoral Commission (Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC), announced that it will be holding the Local Government elections on the 13th of July 2024.and we delve into the poll to chose a good candidate to represent us at the local government area but today we have lost confidence in Delta State local government election over Writing of the LG council electron results and annnces names without conducting free,fair and credible election, in the fact",
"The All Progressives Congress (APC) believes that free and fair elections are integral and essential part of democratic processes as it provides a chance for citizens to choose leaders who will bring true democray dividends development and growth for the benefit of the people at the grassroots."
" We have note, this is only possible where there is confidence and trust in the electoral process and its leadership. We are of the conviction that these qualities are lacking in the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori with Dr. Jerry Agbaike as mare figure-head."
However, "In line with above,
Our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) reminiscent of the constitution of the board and recruitment of ad-hoc staff ahead elections; have carefully studied the process and come to the conclusion that the Delta State PDP-led government has grossly undermined the independence of the State Electoral Commission (DSIEC) and therefore it lacks the moral impetus to superintend any cridibe elections".
According him, "APC and indeed the citizens of Delta cannot forget easily on how the institution of the press media Houses was awashed with the accusation of the governor and his cohorts in connivance with officials of the DSIEC recruited card carrying members of their party, mistresses and girlfriends to serve as members of the electoral umpires and as part of those who will conduct the elections come Saturday, the 13th of July. Local Government election we could best describe as sharm as that we cannot fool ourselves like mumu people, Ewu political Bloc Axis shines your eye's"
Furthermore, "not only that the Oborevwori's administration DSIEC board led by Dr. Agbaike are all card carrying members of the Peoples Democratic Party, it is no secret that Oborevwori even subverts its own party constitution just to impose his preferred candidates in its primary elections. " The question is; how can such a man be trusted to conduct a free and fair state election that will treat the opposition parties fairly? An election that is prearranged to serve as payback to both Oborevwori and his political godfather can be everything but credible and we will be naïve and presumptuous to think that we will have a level playing ground as an opposition."
Adding, "Distinguished members of the press; let me state that our imminent overwhelming popularity and possible victory in the July local government election is not in doubt."Because of that,we found it practically impossible that a government that was so afraid to supervise a free and fair primaries for her own party men and women would never allow us to achieve victory without resorting to further manipulations., "in our wisdom as the main opposition in Ughelli south Local Government Area, we Ewu political Bloc Axis Elders and Leaders APC Stakerholders has pulled out from the poll, we cannot trust the election that has a prearranged outcome. Our decision is also predicated on the fact that we don’t have confidence in the electoral process and the conviction is that our party the APC and its candidates, "
"As APC, concerned will not get a level playing field from DSIEC under the Oborevwori's-led government. On this note and for the purpose of forestalling waste of the state resources and a mockery of democracy we have resolved to withdraw from the election "
He reiterate that "Delta State Government under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori cannot conduct a free and fair election as it lacks the political morality to do so; therefore, our party, the we Ewu Okparabe and Arhavwarien political Bloc Axis Elders and Leaders APC Stakerholders Ughelli south chapter of the APC will not participate in the sham of an election come July 13th 2024".
"On a final note, we urge our teeming supporters and all men and women of goodwill to remain calm and prayerful to Almighty God for the restoration of the dignity, prosperity and well-being of the good people of our dear state." They stated
