The Principal Special Assistant to Benue state Governor on Youth and Students Affairs, Hon Comr Nevkaa Jacob Ter, has advocated for substantial scholarship opportunities for Nigerian students in all tertiary institutions.
The philanthropist with youth and students at heart spoke yesterday in Abuja during the just concluded meeting with the newly constituted National Students Management Council, which has the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Hon Comr. Sunday Asefon, as the chairman.
Speaking as member of the council the Benue PSA on Youth and Students Affairs emphasized that it will cushion the hardship faced by Nigerian students and lessen the burden on parents during this critical time of economic hardships.
Comrade Nevkaa noted that in Benue steps are taken to ensure substantial scholarship and Benue students are ready to take advantage of the education friendly environment created by the governor of Benue State, Rev Fr. Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, to improve students academic performance.
Be it known the three days program was aimed at strengthening the relationship between students and government programs leading to wealth creation in other to better students life after school.
The National students management council is to help the students in allying themselves with programs and policies designed by the president to help the students in capacity building and cushioning the effect of subsidy removal.
The council meeting attracted the attention of His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, comprises senior special advisers, personal assistants, and executive advisers to governors on youth and student affairs across the 36 states of the Federation.
