The Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has done a lot and is still doing more for the progress of the state. What he has so far achieved in his one year and two months in office is what some governors never achieved in their first four years in office.
To my greatest surprise, some Benue people delight pleasure in criticizing Alia without commending even one good thing he has done and I wonder if such people have the interest of Benue at heart.
Since their selfish interests haven't been met, they see nothing good in Alia. When hypocrisy takes over someone's psychology, it knows no bounds.
The reason Benue State has been in the dungeon of underdevelopment for decades is as a result of placing selfish interests above the collective interest of the masses.
From the numerous attacks against Alia, they show that Benue State has a very long way to go if the state must be repositioned for the common good. So many politicians in the state are more concerned about what they will get from the government than what the governed should get.
Most of those who are not personally benefiting from Alia that are against him, if he eventually draws them close to him and give them what they want, they will make u-turn in their criticisms of him irrespective of how he treats the masses. This is the current repugnant condition of Benue and Nigerian politics where hypocrisy knows no bounds.
