Former Vandeikya All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman in Benue State, Alhaji Abubakar Aseer Ihongo, an ardent advisory contributor to the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has been offered an award of appreciation.
The award was offered on Sunday, 24th November, 2024 by NKST Adeiyongo, Vandeikya, Benue State for his enormous contributions to the growth of the church. He also made cash donation for the renovation of the church.
The sermon was delivered by Rev. Pastor Terfa Nyoto of NKST Ager. He preached about Mordecai. He said Mordecai has taught us to maintain hope, remain faithful, and to never allow adversity to define who you are. If that were the case, Mordecai would have bowed down to the earthly power of Haman and renounced his own faith. Instead, he stood strong and never allowed the challenges he faced to define who he was.
Mordecai saved the king's life by reporting a plot to assassinate him. In recognition of Mordecai's actions, the king honoured him by dressing him in a fine linen robe and leading him through the city square.
As a result of this, God richly blessed Mordecai as he strived to remind others of God's provisions for them.
Pastor Nyoto likened Ihongo's situation to that of Mordecai and said the church has presented the award in appreciation of the momentous impact he has made for the growth of the church. The pastor encouraged Ihongo to remain steadfast in his determination to transform lives and God in his infinite mercy and grace will continue to bless him.
Alhaji Ihongo commended the church for recognizing his contributions to the development of the church and promised to be always available anytime he is needed to do more.
Some of the dignitaries at the event were: Hon. Dennis Terkura Guda, Chairman, Vandeikya Local Government; Hon. Dennis Akura, Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Benue State on Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; Hon Emmanuel Terna Shimawua, Member, representing Kyan Constituency at Benue State House of Assembly; Hon.
