Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia has extended Christmas and New Year Holidays for civil servants in the state.
The Governor made this known in a Press Statement, recognizing the efforts of the Benue State workforce in the implementation of programmes and projects for the progress and prosperity of the state.
"Your dedication and commitment to duty have been instrumental in driving our collective agenda for development"
He extended the Christmas and New Year Holidays period to commence on Tuesday, 24th December 2024, and end on Sunday, 6th January 2025.
The decision, according to the Governor, underscores his administration's commitment to supporting the well-being of the workforce, allowing them to enjoy the festive season with their loved ones and also attend to their various agricultural engagements.
"It is also expected that the holiday would afford you the time to attend to your various agricultural engagements".
He, however, said essential services such as Financial institutions, Security agencies, Hospitals, Water board, Fire service, Telecommunication companies, Electricity, and energy providers, amongst others, should not be interrupted.
Governor Alia also encouraged everyone to imbibe the spirit of unity, love and peace, and also remain steadfast in their collective efforts to build a better and greater Benue State.
He extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to Benue people, tourists, and visitors alike, wishing them a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
