2019: The Alternatives To Buhari Will Take Us Back To The Dark Ages - Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu

2019: The Alternatives To Buhari Will Take Us Back To The Dark Ages - Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu

Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu
Dr. Ramatu  Tijjani Aliyu , the immediate past APC National woman Leader is a woman of many parts. She is the President of  African Political Parties. A Princess from Lokoja and a Philanthropist.

A strong believer in women empowerment and child growth, she has successfully initiated many programmes towards eradication of child mortality,  promotion of child education, empowerment of women both in the cities and rural areas,  promotion of women in political arena.

Her uppermost interest now is the successful re-election for President Mohammadu Buhari in order for  good governance, free of corruption and corrupt mind to continue in a country ready to change for better.

In a no hold barred interview with Adewale Emerald Owoola, she spoke on the forthcoming Presidential election.

Q: Can you share with us your experience from the 2018 National Convention of the APC in which you  contested for a second term as the National Woman Leader but couldn't make it?

Glory be to Almighty Allah. It was a worthwhile experience. I have since put the negatives behind me and decided to focus on the positives. In spite of the challenges, the party came out of it alive and we are getting stronger by the day. It doesn’t have to be about me. You win some, you lose some. We have to play politics with maturity. No bitterness and that is how life should be.

Q: Many say you lost out in your bid to return as the Women Leader of your party because you are not in the first lady’s camp. How do you react to this?

There will always be theories for those who do not believe in the power of destiny. I have also heard other theories to the effect that I lost because my Governor was against my return. So how many theories will one react to?

At the end of the day, my firm belief in the will of the Almighty allows me to be at peace with myself and by extension my party. Her Excellency the First Lady, His Excellency The Executive Governor of my state, as well as my humble self remain fully committed to the same goal of ensuring the success of President Muhammadu Buhari, especially with the elections around the corner. The concern now is how to put in more efforts for our President to re-emerge in the forthcoming election so that he can continue with the good works.  And we have been mobilizing people, not just women before now and we are still going round to strategise.

Q: With the next cycle of elections around the corner, what is your assessment of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration in the last 3 and a half years?

Very high. When you look at security, economy and anti-corruption which form the tripod upon which we ran a successful campaign in 2015 then you will see why I rate PMB’s government highly. Nobody is saying we are 100%, far from that.

But success is not merely a function of how high you have gone, but also of how low you are coming from. This administration has pulled us out of recession, doused the insecurity in the country, confronted corruption in high and low places, and has frontally embarked on a massive infrastructural rejuvenation across the country. We can do more, but already we have so much to be proud of

Q: Do you think the APC candidate and incumbent President Buhari stands a better chance ahead of the opposition PDP's Alhaji Atiku Abubakar?

Absolutely. With everything PMB has achieved in the past 3 and half years with even meager resources, a lot of Nigerians can see beyond the propaganda of the PDP. How would they return to power without disparaging the President. But we are not distracted by their desperation.

PDP and its candidate have nothing to offer Nigeria beyond a return to the dark alleys of corruption and insecurity. Nigeria has moved on for good.

Q: As the immediate past  National woman Leader of the ruling APC, are you satisfied with the inclusion of women in the present administration?

To some extent yes. I get this question a lot and my answer is generally not too dissimilar on each occasion. We can hardly ever have enough women in government to be honest. Under this APC administration we have women occupying key positions in the cabinet as well as other parastatals.

Of course we’ll keep asking for more, but I am proud of the effort of the current government thus far. At  least , I can boldly say more women are coming out with boldness , they are ready to serve , eager to make an impact.

Q: Considering the serious opposition mounted by the former  Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and the Presidential Candidate of PDP, don't you think the 2015 scene will replay in 2019?

How do you mean?
The set circumstances which led to the ouster of a sitting government in 2015 are markedly different from what is obtainable today under this government. In 2015, Nigeria was for all intent and purpose in a limbo. Key indices like security, economy and infrastructure were all looking bleak. Nigerians had to come together to effect a change of government.

Today most of these indices are looking better and things can only get better from here. So Nigerians have no need to go back to our “collective National vomit”.
We are moving forward and thanks to President Muhammadu Buhari, a role model and a father figure to corrupt free minds.

Q: Do you see APC winning Kogi State despite the reported failure of Governor Yahaya Bello ‘allegedly’ in the area of salary payment especially?

Well, for starters we need to clarify that the general elections in Kogi would not include the governorship elections and therefore the President can be judged by Kogites on his own merit; which we generally agree is stellar.

Kogites stand a chance to continue to benefit from the numerous interventions and programs of the APC led government like the N-power, Tradermoni,  school feeding,  and bailout funds. So I urge all Kogites to rally behind APC in the overriding interest of our beloved state.

Q: Is there anything you would want to tell Nigerians generally as they go into the 2019 general elections?

Once again, I would like to thank Nigerians for their patience and commitment to the APC led government of President Muhammad Buhari. I assure you all that if re-elected, this government will step up its effort to revamp our ailing infrastructure and all also make life much better for all Nigerians irrespective of tribe or religion.

I am encouraging Nigerians to go for their PVC and those already have to keep it safe in order to  vote en-masse for a man of integrity in person of President Buhari and his running mate, Prof. Yemi  Osinbajo.

I Gave My Life To Christ At Age 7, Had Encounter With God At 13 - Apostle Arome (Interview)

I Gave My Life To Christ At Age 7, Had Encounter With God At 13 - Apostle Arome (Interview)

By Dansu Peter

postle Arome Osayi
Apostle Arome Osayi is a renown clergyman based in Makurdi, Benue State. In this interview with our reporter, the man of God revealed his encounter with God at the tender age of thirteen and his many exploits since he had given his life to Christ.

The excerpt below:

Tell us about yourself your childhood, your born again experience, your family, your career and your ministry.
Apostle Arome:  I was born as the fifth in a family of seven to the family of late Chief Paul Ameh Osayi, a Christian home and I remember giving my life to Christ at the age of seven in ECWA 1 Makurdi barracks road during a Sunday school class.

How did you transit from being born again to becoming a preacher of the gospel?
Apostle Arome: Even though my discipline is in the line of chemistry I was sure about my call at the age of 12/13 when I had series of encounters with God and I began to work towards it from that time
My early Christian life was shaped by the writings of Watchman Nee and the ministry of Benny Hinn.

My transition to a preacher is referenced to an encounter I had where I was taken to heaven and I stood on a mountain and watched people going to hell and I was sent to do something about the situation of the people. This happened when I was 13 years old. And those moments began to shape my life. I couldn't find rest in any other thing outside ministry.

About your unique teaching ministry. You unlock the word of God with so much depth and accuracy. Is it just a gift from God or personal development?
Apostle Arome: Well I trace my teaching ability to the great impartation I received while serving under Reverend Pita Momoh Edwards of Sanctuary of Mercy. The impartation made me begin to desire and study the word of God faithfully and I also began to see very deep things in the scriptures this has continued for 23 years now

Your brand of the gospel seems different from the conventional preaching around. What has made you thrive with such unpopular messages?
Apostle Arome: I was called to preach the Gospel of the kingdom. That's the message for the end time church. Matthew 24:14. Every time I go before God that's the emphasis I hear in the spirit. I discovered that Christianity in Nigeria is weak because it is kingless. Once the king is introduced government and order will set in.

You have a nationwide acceptance and influence among the youth. Ministers of your pedigree prefer big cities. Why are you still headquartered in Makurdi of all places?
Apostle Arome:  I am in Makurdi and will remain in Makurdi because God told me many years ago that a mighty revival will break out of the city and the region that will affect the world and that I am one of the ministers chosen to midwife the revival in the territory.

There is this general notion that people who are committed to your Apostolic Centre in Makurdi don't go to church on Sundays. What is your take on this?
Apostle Arome: Well I may not know why it is so. I suggest you interview such people but I am well aware of members of the ministry that are very strategic and resourceful members of their local Assemblies.

Remnant Christian Network is one of the fastest growing apostolic networks in Nigeria. You are literally in all the major cities in Nigeria. What gave birth to this unprecedented growth?
Bishop Arome: We have been running with a divine policy direction from Isaiah 37:31 "And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward". So going by this policy we took prayer and intercessory roots for 10 years and the resultant effect is the explosion you talked about.

Your invasion of Europe, what is responsible for that? Your sons and daughters moving there for studies and work?
Apostle Arome:  The invasion of Europe began with a Skype bible study I did with a family for one year and a few months that is what translated to the branch in the UK. But for other parts of Europe I began with the messages we uploaded to our website for free downloads.

You're building a massive camp in Makurdi. With a 3, 000 capacity auditorium in the first phase. A hospital, TV Station and hostel facilities for people to come pray and seek the face of God. What is the inspiration behind this project? Tell us more about the project. When are you most likely completing the camp?
Apostle Arome: The camp project was as a result of a vision of glory I had many years ago of an apostolic center where many nations of the world will come and find the true God and see accurate apostolic patterns that can be replicated in their various nations.

Where do you see yourself and your ministry in the next 10 years?
Apostle Arome: In the next 10 years, I am trusting God for the restoration of the true Gospel in Nigeria and Africa through the influence of a strong network of ministers. I trust God for strong alliances of honorable men in Africa and Europe and the parts of the world enforcing the movement of the spirit of God all over the globe.

Festival of Glory Crusade is at the corner. November 24th - 26th, 2017 to be precise. Your first outdoor crusade in the city of Makurdi. What should we expect?
Apostle Arome: Festival of Glory is an attempt at rebuilding that altar of the Lord in the land that is fallen. It will be a bench mark for restoration in Benue State and nothing shall be impossible in those four days.

If you're to summarize your mission in one sentence, what will it be?
Apostle Arome: Striving towards the rebirth of apostolic Christianity

IG Contracted The New Rivers Police Commissioner To Kill Me; 3 of Them Were Interviewed For The Job - Gov. Wike Alleges

IG Contracted The New Rivers Police Commissioner To Kill Me; 3 of Them Were Interviewed For The Job - Gov. Wike Alleges

NYESOM WIKEIn a very weighty allegation, the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has alleged that the Inspector General Of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Kpotun Idris has contracted and mandated the new Police Commissioner in the state to ensure he is killed.

Wike, in an interview with the Punch Newspaper, revealed that three candidates were interviewed with the mandate to ensure they kill him. But the IG eventually picked the one that said he will ensure he carries out the dastardly act with diplomacy.

The new Police Commissioner posted to Rivers State is Zaki Ahmed.

Zaki Ahmed arrived Rivers state Monday as the 38th Commissioner of Police in the State, taking over from Late CP Francis Odesanya.

Ahmed once served as a Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations in Rivers state before his transfer out of the state.

Until his transfer to Rivers state, Zaki Ahmed was the Commissioner of Police in Bauchi state.

Ahmed hails from Kogi State

In the interview with Punch Newspaper, Governor Wike responded;

"Yes, and he told me he is going to do a professional work and I told him, ‘You, a professional work?’ You can’t be independent and can’t do a professional work. The inspector general of police has given him instructions on what to do. The inspector general has told him he must cage the Rivers State governor. He shouldn’t come and tell me he wants to do any professional work. Who is he to say that?"

He can’t have his own mind?

Which mind? Before he was posted here, he was told what to do. They don’t post people based on competence but loyalty; someone who will do their bidding. Do you know that we are the only state that has had about nine commissioners of police in just two years?

Did he agree with you?

Would he say yes? But I told him and he knew I was telling the truth. When he was going to be sent, there were about three of them that were called, and interviewed. They said they were going to kill me. They took this one who said he would be diplomatic about it. We know. This police commissioner has an agenda; I can’t be deceived. I’m not saying he should go; let him stay. He has been given an assignment to kill me. No problem. No man dies two times.

The inspector general of police couldn’t have ordered a police officer to kill someone, especially a governor.

This inspector general of police said so.

That the commissioner of police in your state should kill you?

Yes, I’m telling you (the truth). The inspector general of police, who removed my security details without letting me know until when I was going out and realised that I had no security personnel. What is the implication of that? When a supposed chief security officer of a state wakes up in the morning and realises that he has no security personnel attached to him, what do you expect? What’s the implication? Danger!

I do not see disunity in Badagry – Aholu of Ajido Kingdom

I do not see disunity in Badagry – Aholu of Ajido Kingdom

Aholu Saheed Sedonu Adamson,
On Tuesday 28 June 2016, representatives from the United Voice of Badagry People Initiative visited Aholu Saheed Sedonu Adamson, the Aholu of Ajido Kingdom, Topon Toyiaga 1. Following his coronation earlier in June of this year, UVOB found the Aholu of Ajido Kingdom in good spirits.

Warmly received at the Aholu’s palace, UVOB’s representatives began their interview with the Oba of Ajido Kingdom. He spoke at length concerning fostering unity in Badagry, youth empowerment as well as the recent discovery of crude oil in Badagry.

Q. On behalf of UVOB and fellow Badagrians, we extend our congratulations to you on your coronation and thank you for giving us the opportunity to be present. How do you feel after taking up the responsibility of becoming the Oba of Ajido Kingdom? You must be overwhelmed…

I feel excited because I know this is God’s making, because God is the only one who ordains His King. I feel overwhelmed and I’m grateful for the acceptance of my people – it’s a call to duty to serve my people to the best of my ability.

Q. As you are aware, Badagry faces underdevelopment and is still struggling to create unity in its communities. What are your views on fostering unity and attracting development in Ajido and across Badagry?

My intention is to work with other Kings in Badagry Local Government and possibly within Lagos State to promote unity, to promote development, to promote progress within the community, to foster unity among us and to ensure that we do things in accordance with the law of the land so that whatever we do, whatever we set our programme on, we see ourselves in Badagry as one – Egun speaking people and Awori speaking people. For me, I don’t like discrimination. I always look at us as Lagosians working for the common good of our people. That is how I want to foster unity amongst the Obas and amongst the people in the community.

Q. In terms of youth empowerment, how do you intend to help the youth in Ajido?

When I was installed as Aholu, I met many youths in Ajido either in clubs or in different fields of endeavour. During their visits to pay homage, we discussed a lot and that made me say that I would definitely form a committee for youth empowerment .What are we looking at in this committee? We are looking to empower our people, to see if we can bring NGOs to ensure that yes, they all have work, they all have education, they all have skills so at the end of the day we can harmonize all these things together to bring in investors, as we are talking to some investors now to come and invest in Ajido.

We have the Gas Pipeline in Ajido right now. We want to talk to them to at least make sure that most of our youths that are graduates and have skills are employed into this organisation. We have Asphalt here too. I will talk to them to assist our youth, the graduates and the skilled to get employment. Apart from that, we are talking to some investors to come and invest. Not only that, I have discussed with some youths to not be idle, we have farmlands so they can go into farming or agriculture to help themselves, because right now I know that white collar jobs are not there anymore. One should try as much as possible to be self-employed. Those are the things I have been trying to advise the youths in my domain and I think they are responding positively to these calls. All hands must be on deck as we are talking to them, and I know by God’s Grace, things will work well for our youths this time around.

Q. Some communities are disunited in Badagry, what do you think the problem is and how do you think it can be resolved?

As far as I know, I have not seen any disunity amongst any community or amongst us – so far so good in Badagry Local Government Area. Why I am saying this is because I visited some Obas immediately after my installation – after my iwuye ceremony. We were talking together to unite ourselves to ensure there is peace and harmony in our domain. At my last meeting with the Oba of Imeke, we discussed at length how to ensure we tighten up security in terms of some youths that were into bad habits and we said that it was going to be a collective effort. I visited Alapa, and we discussed the same. Unity is the key to any development anywhere we live. But so far so good, I have not seen any disunity amongst Badagry’s people. I think we are one and we will continue to be one.

Q. What are your views concerning the recent crude oil discovered in Badagry?

I’m grateful that you raised this question. After my installation or rather before my installation, we’d heard of it, of Aje Oil owned by Folawuyo and some other group of companies. But I must tell you that Badagry is the host community – that is the Badagry Local Government Area. Folawuyo Drilling Company is opposite Ajido and it’s about 12 miles within the sea shores of Ajido. But so far so good – some Obas have come together and approached Folawuyo. From what we’ve gathered so far, we’ve wrote to them and they’ve replied. Very soon, we’re going to meet them to know the benefits and what they have in store for our youths and for the community, I don’t want to talk too much about them, but like I said we are about to meet them, may be in a week’s time. It’s going to be a meeting between the Obas in the Badagry Local Government Area and Folawuyo. After our discussion, I believe something positive will come out of it for Badagry.

The Aholu was pleased with the role UVOB played in Badagry as a non-governmental organisation and he hopes that initiatives such as UVOB will continue to make a difference in Badagry.

The visit concluded with thanks.

Obasanjo'll Ruin Your Government, Buhari Warned

Obasanjo'll Ruin Your Government, Buhari Warned

In an experience that portrays the popularly saying, "Once Beaten twice Shy", a former Senate President forced out of office during the tenure of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and member Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Adolphus Wabara has warned President Muhammadu Buhari to be wary of the ex-President (Obasanjo), else he will ruin his administration, News Punch understands

Wabara in a recent interview with the Daily Sun Newspaper believes that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has its good and bad sides . While he praised the ongoing war against corruption , he argued that the administration has not done well in addressing economic issues.

The former President of the Senate was of the opinion that the President must be wary of some personalities that swarm around him. One of such people he said, is former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, claiming that the latter would hurt the President if he continues to allow him ample space in his government.

Below is an excerpt from Daily Sun Newspaper related to Obasanjo and Buhari's relationship cum the former's interferences in PDP crisis.

Many also feel that Obasanjo’s hand is seemingly in the problem that you are having right now. Some of his men who are fighting are believed to have links with him?

The problem with Obasanjo is he pursues his personal interest all the time and he’s a tactician. We worked together. If you are standing here with Obasanjo, if you look a mile from where you are standing, you will find him there. That is the type of person he is and it takes people like us who really understand him to talk about him. I think we will leave that for another day. He has so many people planted here and there. He has his hands in so many things in his government. But you probably will be lucky to pin him down to them. People are suffering on his behalf, whereas he should have been the person facing the music.

Do you regret becoming one of his loyal core men at a point in your political career?

I wouldn’t want to answer that question now. But I must thank him though for making me what I am. Without him, I wouldn’t have been the Senate President – that’s between myself and my God. He made that possible and I remain eternally grateful to him. But it’s his interest first all the time. If I go into that, how I exited and what have you; in fact in your papers, somebody wrote that I was impeached. I was never impeached. I voluntarily resigned to go and face the music. Where I studied, we were usually very rugged and we know that diamonds are not forever. When things like that come, we take the right step.

Obasanjo wanted a third term and he thought he had a willing horse in me but I refused and that is where the whole thing started. Some of his aides now told him that I even wanted to take over his job as the President of the country and stuffs like that. But I don’t want to talk. I leave everything in the hands of God.

If you are to advise Buhari on how to handle somebody like Obasanjo, what would be your advice?

Buhari should be very careful. He should be very wary of Obasanjo because Obasanjo will hurt him. All he is doing around Buhari now is to feel his body language to know whether he has any plans in exposing him. The moment he now finds that something like that is not happening and Buhari becomes a lame President, Obasanjo will hurt him, preparatory for the next President that is coming in because he must be in the Villa to protect himself from going back to prison and what he does is to run down whoever is there at the appropriate time to paint a picture that he is supporting the incoming so that that one will draw him closer again. By so doing, he is shielded from being thrown back into prison.

Attack On Buhari: Fayose 'UNGRATEFUL' Small Boy That Forgets History - Bode George

Attack On Buhari: Fayose 'UNGRATEFUL' Small Boy That Forgets History - Bode George

A former military governor of Ondo state and Lagos base chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olabode George has warned Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Peter Ayodele Fayose to tread slowly, especially on his incessant attack on President Muhammadu Buhari.

Chief George in a recent interview granted the Daily Sun described Fayose as a small boy who must be grateful to God for reinstalling him back to power, but instead, the governor busy with personal, unintellectual and unintelligent attack on the President.

A former National Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olabode George in his usual manner of no hold barred said to the Daily Sun interviewer;

"We have an adage in my language. The wisdom of the elders; the grey hair is not for cows, or ram. It is a true reflection of so many experiences and learning. When you see a young man, boisterous, firing on both sides of the cylinder, then my word is ‘gada nkada, ankali, jee-jeeo, Nwayo nwayo, slow- slow’. You see snail?" Sometimes you see it on top of a roof. It has no hand, it has no leg, but it climbs and gets to the top. How does it do it? It will look right and left and move. If you touch it, it will hide again, and can stay there for a long time."

"My advice to him is that though we must have opposition, it must be constructive; it must be intellectual, nothing personal. When we were in power, opposition governors used to come to discuss what they wanted in their states. You don’t put him perpetually on attack. He is the president. I think it is a little too much when you start firing a letter outside to another president to dishonour a loan agreement. That is a little too much for Ayo."

"I know Ayo. One thing that he should be grateful to God is that they haunted him out of government house. He is still my boy, my little boy. That was during Obasanjo’s era. What they did to him was illegal, it was not right. He knew we supported him. But see the way the Almighty works. Exactly 8 years, on the same day, he came back as governor. What else does he need other than to praise God and do what is right. He can book an appointment that he wants to see the president."

"I am saying this because the very first time he came there, the whole people in management conspired that he would not be governor. He and my mother’s younger brother came to me at 2.30 am at a hotel in Ekiti when Obasanjo was coming the following morning. I gave him N230,000 to go and buy his own dress; that he will get the ticket that morning to be governor. He didn’t believe it. I said, go and sow it overnight, which he did."

"I went on board the aircraft, because they had given the dress of another man they wanted as governor to Obasanjo. They had given it to baba. I explained to baba and he said, okay Bode, keep the dress. I would be going from here to commission NTA station in Ekiti. After that, I will announce and call for you. Bring the dress inside the building. I took the dress there. After Baba had finished commissioning the station, he dropped it, and called out ‘Bode’. I said ‘yes baba’. He said ‘ Oya come.’ We went into one studio there. That was where Baba changed. You know everybody had to move to the stadium. We changed into Fayose’s dress. When he entered the stadium in Fayose’s dress there was surprise, and that did it. He should remember, because if you forget about history you will repeat the mistake.
