MFM cautions against mischievious attacks against Olukoya

By Dansu Peter

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) on Sunday advised media houses to stop what it called vicious attacks on its general overseer, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, and warned that publications that shunned its advice run the risk of being dragged to court for libel.

The warning, which was contained in a statement by Collins Edomaruse, media aide to Dr. Olukoya, is sequel to one of such attacks by an online news medium, https://IK.phx.ninja/Nkup, on July 19, 2020.

See the full details of the statement…

STOP THIS MISGUIDED AND VICIOUS ATTACK ON MFM GO,  DR. D. K. OLUKOYA
Our attention has been drawn to an on-line story titled: SCANDAL! General Overseer, Mountain of Fire And Miracles Ministries, In Big Mess in US published under the thread: https://Ik.phx.ninja/Nkup dated July 19, 2020. We would ordinarily have ignored this misguided and vicious attack on the person of our General Overseer but for the need to appropriately inform the discerning public and expose the malicious falsehood in this unmerited attack against one of God’s Generals.

To begin with, what the publisher of this falsehood is attempting to portray as recent events are actually the feeble defence of some renegade pastors presented in 2017 to a Court Case commenced in 2017 at the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County of Maryland, USA by Mountain of Fire & Miracles Ministries against Pastors Lawrence Adetunji, Ronke Adetunji, eleven former members of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Bowie, Maryland USA and Christ The Truth Ministry to recover possession of property and monies belonging to MFM international which those renegade Pastors and the eleven (11) conniving members had sought to snatch upon breaking out from the MFM Fold to form a Christ the Truth Ministries.
It is pertinent to note the following:
1. That the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County of Maryland delivered judgment in that case in 2019 in which it:

a. disbelieved the lies of the Defendants, and

b. granted MFM’s claims in their entirety
2. That the false publication of those very same stories by Sahara Reporters in 2017 has earned it two suits for Libel – one in the United States of America and the other here in in the High Court of Akwa Ibom State, Uyo, Nigeria.

3. Also, that a similar publication by ThisDay newspaper of the same false stories citing Sahara Reporters as its source, as has been done in this present instance, has also earned the publishers of that newspaper a civil suit to recover N500bn as aggravated damages for libel. The matter is currently at trial stage in the High Court of Rivers State, Port Harcourt.

In essence, the publishers of this present falsehood have not only opened themselves to a suit in Libel but have, by commenting on a matter which has been judicially determined by a court of competent jurisdiction in the United States of America, and aspects of which are still sub-judice in live Libel suits before a court in the US and two courts in Nigeria, committed the offence of contempt of each of those courts.

It is definitely in very bad taste and a crass breach of all known journalistic ethics for a publisher to pull up falsehoods which were uttered in 2017 and judicially determined as false in 2019 and republish them in July 2020 as a fresh story. The malice behind such action is very clear and palpable and will be addressed in due course.

Documentary film as a form of cinematic expression is increasingly becoming popular in Africa as a tool for maintaining historical records. In recent times, documentaries have evolved to become longer in length and almost equal in terms of educational and entertainment value with other types of cinematography.

Social media platforms, such as Youtube, Instagram, and Facebook have provided an avenue for the promotion, development, and growth of the documentary film genre.

Documentary film-making is gradually becoming popular in Nigeria and Tunde Oladimeji, an ace filmmaker, actor, director, and producer is one of the top Nigeria's documentary filmmakers who has carved a niche for himself with his  Yoruba heritage documentary series.

His documentary of Ibadan was nominated in the best documentary category of the 2020 AMVCA. Other documentary works produced by him in that category include Eko àkéte, Abeokuta ilẹ̀ Ẹ̀gbá, Ife Ooye, and Oshogbo Oroki.

In addition to his documentary filmmaking, Tunde is an actor and director. He is the director of Aajirebi, a TV show on Africa Magic Yoruba. He was an assistant producer of the Amstel Malta box office 5. He is the host and Co-director of the TV show eleyinju àánú that has featured notable Nigerians including the Ooni of Ife, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the Awujale of the Ijebu Kingdom, Jaye Kuti, Akin Lewis, etc.

Tunde is a native of Iwo, Osun State, and a graduate of the University of Ibadan where he co-produced his first film titled  àgbàlágba akàn an adaptation of Oladejo Okedijis book published in 1972.

Call for Service Chiefs Resignation: APC Youths blast Senate, say call is ludicrous, senseless, shadow-chasing

By Dansu Peter

The APC Youth Solidarity Network APC-YSF) has described as senseless and shadow-chasing the Tuesday's call by the Senate for the resignation of the current Service Chiefs.

The youth group said the resolution made by the Senate following the motion moved by Senator Ali Ndume, is  a clear indication that the lawmakers and other stakeholders in the Northeast and Northwest have declined the necessary support to the President and Service Chiefs in the fight against Boko Haram/ISWAP, armed banditry, kidnapping and other crimes bedeviling some parts of the country.

Addressing newsmen on Wednesday, Comrade Danesi Momoh, on behalf of the youth group advised the National Assembly to concentrate on its constitutional duties and desist from "the excitement of interfering with the lawfully defined responsibilities of the executive arm of government."

The group, therefore, commended the Service Chiefs and Nigerian troops for the wonderful job in curtailing insecurity threats to Nigeria from armed bandits and terrorists.

Full text of his speech below.

The APC Youth Solidarity Network (APC-Youth Solidarity Network welcomes you to this urgent press conference. It is necessitated by the imperative to publicly caution the Nigerian Senate on the persistent and organized campaigns by the national parliament, against the Service Chiefs and President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, evident in the frivolous and vexatious resolutions calling for the resignation of the current Security Chiefs.

We recall  that during  the Senate plenary of July 21, 2020 and  based on a motion raised by Sen. Ali Ndume, with  additional prayers by Senator Francis Fadahunsi  and contributions of  other lawmakers,  the Red Chamber again unconscionably passed a resolution asking the Service Chiefs to resign over alleged ambush of soldiers in Katsina and the voluntary resignation of many soldiers of the Nigerian Army.

We find the resolution of the Senate ludicrous, senseless, shadow-chasing, embarrassing and incongruent with the reality of the issue of Service Chiefs who are doing their best to curb the resurgent spate of insecurities in some parts the country. There is every reason to frown at this baseless inclination of the Senate.

If the Senate cannot eulogize the efforts and sacrifices of the Service Chiefs who are fighting acts of insurgencies and other criminals in the country, silence is more golden. But it constitutes a slap on the face to call for their resignation or sack and a glaring attempt to overheat the polity.

Asking the Service Chiefs to step-aside is the least solution to the insecurities assailing the country. Besides, it baffles and belittles the Senate, an otherwise honourable parliament to officialize rumours of alleged ambush of soldiers in Katsina state and the purported resignation of soldiers of the Nigerian Army to pass a resolution. It is tantamount to putting the cart before the horse. When has the Senate morphed into a chamber of rumour-mill?

It is increasingly worrisome that the Nigerian Senate, in alliance with some opposition elements have made the calls for the resignation of the Service Chiefs or their sack by President Buhari a hubby. This penchant is absurd and irrational, especially if interrogated from the point of truth.

It is clear the Senate and other stakeholders in the Northeast and Northwest have declined the necessary support to the President and Service Chiefs in the fight against Boko Haram/ISWAP, armed banditry, kidnapping and other crimes bedeviling some parts of the country. And they have ignored extending support unpretentiously.

About a fortnight ago, the Senate President, Sen. Ahmed Lawan and the House of Representatives Speaker, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila promised Nigerians after a close-door meeting with President Buhari of making provision for additional support to the Nigerian Military which is battling acts of insurgencies and allied crimes in the country. But thereafter, no effort has been made. Is the resolution for resignation the support the National Assembly leadership promised?

However, the outburst by the Senate  is a plain admission of their knowledge of the underfunding and lack of motivation of members of the Nigerian Military to place them in a better position for combats against armed bandits and terrorists disrupting the peace and security of Nigeria.

And it is painful  to realize that the same Senate which vehemently refused to respond to pleas by the leadership of the Nigerian Army for improved and adequate budgetary votes  in the 2020 Appropriation Act for the Army, which is involved in multiple Internal Security (IS) operations, should delight in passing a resolution for the  resignation of Service Chiefs  or even contemplate to raise a voice calling for their sack. This is the irritatingly barefaced hypocrisy exhibited by some of our leaders and it is condemnable in every facet.

The Senate is peopled with respected leaders from both the Northeast and Northwest. But shockingly, none of them has done anything or even willing to support President Buhari, his government or the military in any way to win the war against insurgencies. Therefore, we cannot discern the obsession of the same leaders with calls for the resignation or sack of Service Chiefs, instead of recognizing and appreciating the much they are doing over the insecurity situation in Nigeria.

What is noticeable or what we have seen is the display of dirty politics by leaders of the Northeast and Northwest, especially those in the National Assembly. This is a resentful display of drunken politics and over- politicization of Nigeria’s insecurity dilemma.

The APC-Youth Solidarity Network completely aligns with the position of the Presidency over the Senate’s latest resolution on resignation of Service Chiefs.  The excited Senators are again reminded that the removal or otherwise of Nigeria’s security chiefs is the exclusive prerogative and discretion of President Buhari. A dozen resolutions of the parliament are impotent in contents and action over the issue of Service Chiefs.

The National Assembly is hereby advised to concentrate on its constitutional duties and desist from the excitement of interfering with the lawfully defined responsibilities of the Executive arm of government.

We wholeheartedly commend the Service Chiefs and Nigerian troops for the wonderful job in curtailing insecurity threats to Nigeria from armed bandits and terrorists. We encourage our troops never to relent hence we are confident of their capacity to crush all armed criminal gangs amassed against the people of Nigeria insofar as the nation is under the leadership of President Buhari.

Banditry: Group warns sponsors, promoters of insecurity to desist or be exposed

... praises Chief of Army for aggressive strategy in ending security threats

By Our Reporter

The Northern Security Crusaders (NSC) have warned sponsors and promoters of banditry in the northwest to desist from the act or risk being named and shamed.

The group also saluted the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai for once again raising up to the occasion with an aggresive approach despite conspiracy from some high-ranking Nigerians.

Scores of bandits have been killed while many others captured barely two weeks since the 'Operation Sahel Sanity' was launched in Katsina.

However, the Northern Security Crusaders believe some prominent politicians are already frustrating the efforts of the troops.

In a statement signed by its Director of Media and Strategy, Abubakar Usman, on Friday, the group warned these promoters and sponsors of insecurity to quit their nefarious activities or face the consequences.

Amidst the blackmail, NSC hailed the COAS' impactful leadership which it said has led to the successes of the various military operations across the country, most recently in the northwest.

While expressing total support for the troops, NSC called on all patriotic citizens to do likewise in their quest to address politically motivated acts of criminalities.

Read full statement below:

The Northern Security Crusaders having extensively analyzed the situation of things in Nigeria with regards to the efforts of the Nigerian Military in curbing the activities of terrorist and bandits across the country herby makes the following statements:

We wish to call on the politicians and sponsors of banditry in North West Nigeria to desist from their nefarious activities and know that the citizens of Nigeria are united behind the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to defeat the menace of banditry and other acts of criminalities.

This position of ours is hinged on the fact that the efforts of the Nigerian Military have been outstanding despite the various conspiracies against the success of the campaign of ridding Nigeria of criminal elements.

We are aware of the various innovations introduced by the Nigerian Army in its operations in North-East Nigeria such as the Super Camp Strategy, Operation Safe Corridor, and most recently Operation Sahel Sanity to eliminate banditry in Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kebbi, Sokoto and Niger States.

It suffices to state that the bulk of the issues in the security sector in Nigeria are fuelled by agents of destabilization and political enemies of the country who are hell-bent on causing a crisis of imaginable proportion through the sponsorship of acts of banditry and other forms criminalities across the country in fulfillment of their political agenda of making the country erupt in flames.

The Northern Security Crusaders wishes to warn these politicians and sponsors of violence in the country to desist from their nefarious ways in the interest of peace in the country. We also want to state that the Northern Security Crusaders would not hesitate to expose these individuals and organizations that are fuelling the crisis in Nigeria.

The Northern Security Crusaders states in unequivocal terms that indeed the Nigerian Military has lived up to expectations in addressing the various security threats in North-East Nigeria and other parts of the country.

This is indeed commendable and an indication that the leadership of the Nigerian Military has provided that sound and responsive leadership needed in this critical point of our existence.
The Northern Security Crusaders wishes to thank the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai for the decisive and impactful leadership he has availed the Nigerian Army since his appointment which is indeed responsible for the successes of the various military operations in North-East Nigeria and other parts of the country.

There is no element of doubt that the Nigerian Army is more than committed to preserving the territorial integrity of Nigeria and this much is an indication that with the support of all discerning Nigerians it would achieve more success.

The Northern Security Crusaders is thereby calling on all patriotic citizens in Nigeria to extend their support to the Nigerian Military in their efforts at addressing the politically motivated acts of criminalities in Nigeria.

It must be stated that enough is enough for those individuals and organizations that are against the interest of the country. And this much the generality of Nigerians must come to terms with in the overall peace and progress of the country.

The Northern Security Crusaders is using this medium to extend its support to the Nigerian Military in its quest to make Nigeria habitable for all regardless of our religious and ethnic affiliations.  This is indeed a call to duty.

Akpabio, Ojugboh and the 40 thieves, By Fejiro Oliver

By Fejiro Oliver

"When I saw corruption, I was forced to find truth on my own. I couldn’t swallow the hypocrisy"
... Barry White

My Dear President

I bring you Calvary greetings. Before I start, I swear that everything you will read here is nothing but the truth and a reflection of the minds of well-meaning sons and daughters of the Niger Delta extraction. So help me God.

When you set up the Interim Management Committee (IMC) to oversee the affairs of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) after stepping down the initial names sent to the National Assembly, we didn’t scream down the heavens because we were already tired of the thieves who masqueraded as MDs and Executive Directors of the commission over the years and truly yearned for the long awaited forensic audit to be carried out.

Little did we know that the worst sets of rogues that will make Lawrence Anini look like a Saint that will ever grace the NDDC and turn the place into what Warri folks call “their cocoyam farm”. Since Godswill Akpabio was appointed the Minister of Niger Delta, the place has known no rest. He has imported the looting syndrome that he inflicted in Akwa Ibom into the NDDC and abandoned the other works that his ministry is supposed to do and channeled all his energy on NDDC.

With his appointing of Cairo Ojugboh, a known soldier of liars as the Acting Executive Director of Projects, the restiveness became worse than the actual days of agitation and struggle for the recognition of the Niger Delta as the region that lays the golden eggs. Rather than sanitizing the place, the duo has turned it into their conquered kingdom, awarding contracts to friends and cronies. Contractors daily cry out on how they pay Cairo Ojugboh 30% of payments made to them and anyone who does not agree to this is not paid. It is an open secret that for years, 10% was the norm but the Minister and Cairo have been alleged to up the game by taking more from these contractors who borrow money from banks to finance these projects. How do we expect them to deliver quality jobs when they know that Akpabio and Godswill are by the corners like hungry vultures waiting to descend on the monies that will be paid them?

Mr President, this is not the time for you to turn blind eyes to these wanton stealing of the NDDC funds especially to the tune of over N50 billion that Akpabio and Cairo have squandered on irrelevant projects that makes no meaning to any Niger Deltan? How do we begin to explain in future to our children that a certain Cairo Ojugboh and his gang of 40 thieves paid themselves N1.5 billion under the time of COVID-19 while they shared only noodles to the people and it was under your reign? How do we tell the next generation that you were the President and Akpabio alongside his Man Friday Cairo paid almost N1 billion for image management and reputation that were never done but money channeled into their private purses and you did nothing? Pray Mr President, how do we write the history of Niger Delta and say that you appointed a Minister who imposed IMC on you and awarded media jobs to a shabby engineering company, awarded procurement of Lassa fever kits to a roadside company that sells electric bulbs in Port Harcourt as well as another company that sells hair creams in same Port Harcourt? Just imagine the curse those unborn kids will place on you and Yusuf for watching while their future was toyed with by two failed professionals; one who read law but never practiced. As a matter of fact, his call to bar certificate do not bear correct names and he’s not aware till date, except now that he will be reading this article. The other one read Medicine and didn’t also practice but jumped into politics where he has turned to political Hushpuppi. Maybe you can begin to ask him about some properties that his godfather Tony Anenih showed to him but are nowhere to be found today.

That a former Acting MD of the Commission, Joi Nunieh, who should know better and truly know has accused the Minister of bombing pipelines just to sabotage the economy and he has not been picked up by the security agencies makes one begin to wonder if he has not placed the Presidency under a spell from the mystical city of Punjab, India. In his days in Akwa Ibom as a governor, he was serially accused of practicing mbiam which is diabolical. He is yet to deny it till date. Could he have blown the mbiam breeze on Mr President during one of their meetings or via handshake? If he has, may Allah in his infinite mercy open upon your eyes to do the needful and save NDDC from total collapse.

Joi Nunieh did not just make allegations but backed it up with witnesses from the Presidency and staff of the commission. They are too grave to be ignored.

For Cairo Ojugboh, you should truly believe when Joi alleged that he said he can kill for Akpabio before asking the reason why he sent him on such a dangerous mission. Mr. President, it is said in Delta North that Cairo is a dreaded killer who masterminded the murder of security details attached to Nduka Irabor during their tussle for the House of Representatives. That incident left a lifetime emotional trauma on Irabor that he never contemplated running for any election again as long as Cairo Ojugboh remains alive. If that was a one off gist, stories abound on how he slapped a former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Martins Okonta with magical hands during a shouting bout that almost made him run mad. I don’t believe in fairy tales but the bible admonishes that in the mouth of two witnesses, truth is established. Perhaps, we can begin to source for these witnesses who will tell us how dangerous it is to have Cairo Ojugboh as a member of NDDC even on part time basis.

For anyone to begin to insinuate that the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege who has been your biggest supporter from the South South is behind the scandals surrounding the IMC NDDC is enough for Mr President to not only dissolve the entire board but even shut down the entire NDDC for one year. For heaven sake, has Cairo Ojugboh no honor left in him that he will accuse the most performing Senator from the Southern part of the country of instigating crisis when he has never benefitted one contract from NDDC, has no payment there that the forensic audit will expose and does not even know the MD’s office to send people to collect jobs.

Just like every well-meaning Niger Deltans, the DSP is concerned that 20 years after establishing the NDDC, it has no meaningful projects to claim and just when he though the IMC is the Daniel come to judgment, he began to weep when he began reading of allegations of billions missing. It is natural that as the major representative of the South and political leader of the South South which includes both PDP and APC, he backed his colleagues in the hallowed chambers to support the probe of the IMC. I do not believe that as a President, you sent Godswill there as the supervising minister to steal ahead of his Vice Presidential aspiration for 2023 or Cairo Ojugboh to loot ahead of his 2023 Senatorial ambition. It is important that even the watchman is watched.

Ibrahim Magu as Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) who watched over the anti-corruption agencies was also watched by the SSS and NFIU. Today, their reports which the Presidential panel is acting on has led to his suspension and possible dismissal. If you could order Magu’s arrest, detention and investigation, Godswill Akpabio and Cairo Ojugboh should be immediately arrested. They cannot continue to seat in the same office where they have every opportunity to doctor documents, steal files and destroy evidences against them.

Mr President, without sounding undemocratic, I will urge you to just switch your brain back to 1985 and tell SARS to pick up Akpabio and Cairo, tie them to two drums and have ten SARS officers stay in front of them and behind them to be shot to death. Their looting has caused many deaths to Niger Deltans and we will not shout as sons and daughters of the soil for ordering the shooting of these two useless sons that God mistakenly sent to our soil instead of Iraq. They need no fair hearing again Sir, for Joi Nunieh statement and many reports in the public is all that is needed to do this. If this is done Mr President, I can assure you that in years to come, we will reap the benefit of this benevolence and probably name the NDDC building after you, and God willing even name the commission to Muhammadu Buhari Development Commission (MBDC).
Yours in Anti-Corruption struggle

Revealed: How Sahara Reporters Received $25m To Ridicule FG's Fight Against Corruption

By Dansu Peter

An online publication, Sahara Reporters has been accused of working underground to frustrate the anti-corruption war of President Mohammadu Buhari's administration.

Equity And Justice In Politics And Governance Movement, at a press conference in Abuja, accused the online publication of receiving $25m to tarnish the image of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, SAN, and the anti-corruption fight.

Dr Musa Moses Attah,
National Coordinator of the movement said for the benefit of those who do not know the modus operandi of Sahara Reporters, their stock in trade is to peddle FAKE News and millions of Nigerians already know this.

Dr. Attah said the attack on the person of the AGF is not the first on government officials by Sahara Reporters and therefore should not be taken seriously.

''The AGF is a fine gentleman who has performed his duty creditably well since his appointment into that office in 2015 and because of his sterling qualities and performances, President Buhari found him worthy of re-appointment.

''It may interest Nigerians to note that this is not the first time Sahara Reporters will be publishing FAKE News against government official''.

He said the medium once reported the death of Ghali Umar Na'abba, former House of Representatives Speaker and later retracted the report and apologized to the former speaker.

''With all that we have stated above, it is our view that the FAKE News published by Sahara Reporters against the AGF should not be taken seriously by Nigerians as the leading publisher of FAKE news against government officials is out to tarnish the image of the well respected AGF.

''For instance the sponsored photos of houses supposedly "owned" by Malami in Kano and other places have turned to be a hoax and misbegotten as the minister has disconnected himself from allegation of purchasing a property for his son in Abuja. It might interest you to note that a photograph of a center in Kano built over 30 years ago was allegedly attributed to Malami. Another property on Ahmadu Bello Way/Gidado Road Kano ascribed to Malami is owned by a serving Military officer under investigation. The lies are many.

''As a private legal practitioner, it is a known fact that Malami has been into businesses and even owned Rayhaan Hotels long before serving as a Minister. Is it expected that the  business will crumble simply because he was chosen to be a Minister?

''We at the movement are worried that the rate at which Sahara Reporters is going, journalism may be dragged into the mud.  We therefore, call on Online Publishers Association of Nigeria (OPAN), Guild of Corporate Online Publishers, (GOCOP), Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), Nigerian Press Council (NPC), and the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) should call Sahara Reporters to order before the noble profession of journalism is destroyed.

''Before bringing this press conference to a close, we want to put it on record that we have it on good authority that Sahara Reporters collected $25m (25million dollars) to tarnish the image of government officials and to ridicule the government of President Mohammadu Buhari, who is doing his very best to ensure that Nigeria is rid of corruption'' he said.
