Tinubus "Playing God" Saying He Installed Buhari - Femi Adesina Berates
News Proof 2.12.16 No comments Edit Post
Mr. Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity has berated the supporters of the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed over the insinuation that the former Lagos State Governor was betrayed by the President after he (Tinubu) helped installed him as the President.
Adesina answering questions in a very recent interview granted to Vanguard News said saying that Tinubu installed Buhari as President is playing God.
Buhari's media aide in the rebuttal answer said;
"You are a journalist and a political watcher. You can say whether somebody installed another person. I am sure as a political watcher you know it."
"You know that getting to political office is usually a combination of factors. Each person has a role he plays and so, I don’t think anybody can come out to say, “I installed this person.” No, it is a wrong word. That person would then be playing God."
However, Adesina posited that Tinubu is a political force whose contribution among others peoples' too made Buhari the President.
"Asiwaju Tinubu is a political force to reckon with. He played his own part in the emergence of President Buhari and that is why the President has high respect for him," Adesina said.
He also revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari has a very high regard for Tinubu.
The resignation letter tendered by Dr. Muiz Banire, the National Legal Adviser of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has been rejected by the National Working Committee, NWC of the party.
Banire had about three weeks ago written to step down as the party’s National Legal Adviser following an investigation launched by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC into a gift of N500,000 given to an old friend, who sought his financial assistance the burial expenses of his late mother about three years ago.
However, in a letter dated December 1, 2016 and signed by APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the party said its NWC “resolved that your voluntary submission for investigation by the EFCC and subsequent offer to step aside from your position as National Legal Adviser to the party is an exemplary representation of the credo of our party. The NWC is proud of your conduct in this respect.”
The letter however said that “after intense discussion, the NWC unanimously decided not to accept your offer to step aside as the National Legal Adviser.”
The party explained that its decision is hinged on the fact that Banire’s offer is “inappropriate since your responsibility as the National Legal Adviser of our party will not, in any way, impede any ongoing investigation by the EFCC,
More so, as the allegation has no nexus with the party.”
“The party is currently saddled with a number of sensitive litigations and your role in professionally handling the ongoing cases is critical. The NWC is of the view that we keep to the credo of our jurisprudence where an accused is considered innocent until otherwise proven guilty by a competent jurisdiction. In this case you have not even been accused”, the party stated and sought for Banire’s understanding of its decision to refuse his offer to resign from the NWC.

News Proof 1.12.16 No comments Edit Post
Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has said he remains a committed member of the Peoples Democratic Party and has no immediate plans to dump the party.
He had on Wednesday during a meeting with the members of the Suppliers’ Association of Nigeria, Ikere Ekiti chapter, said he may seek another political platform to prosecute his succession battle in the 2018 governorship poll.
Describing those distorting his statements and peddling rumour of his defection as mischief-makers and agents of dark and evil forces, Fayose vowed that he would never dump the PDP for the All Progressives Congress under any guise.
He spoke at the palace of Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe while being conferred with the honour of ‘Outstanding Achiever of Our Time’ by Ado Progressive Union.
He said, “I will never dump PDP for APC. I remain strong and unshaken for the PDP. I can’t jump the boat, even if I want to jump, I won’t jump into the red sea.
“Why should I leave the PDP and join a party of hunger like APC? Ekiti is different from Ondo. By the grace of God, there will be a repeat of history here in 2018, I shall repeat the 16-0 that I gave them in 2014.
“I operate like the biblical Elisha because those with us are greater than theirs. The God of Israel that conquered Philistines shall be on our side.”
The governor assured the people of Ado Ekiti that more developmental projects shall be instituted by his government for him to remain indelible in the history of Ekiti State.
“Chief Obafemi Awolowo died 29 years ago, but his works live on. I want people in 10, 20, 50, to think of one Ayo Fayose that governed Ekiti and opened up Ado Ekiti, built a new Oja Oba Market, the flyover, dualisation of many towns among other landmark projects.
“I have raised the bar of development in Ado Ekiti, I have raised the respect for Ewi and no governor can come to Ekiti and undermine this town and the throne.
“ I shall do more to promote this palace to the extent that our opponents will have no space within this palace to construct any structure,” Fayose said.

This was part of the disagreement between Frank and John Oyegun, National Chairman of the party.
Frank has been suspended from the APC ahead of his expulsion, according to the party’s authorities.

News Proof 1.12.16 No comments Edit Post
A former Sports Minister under the former President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr. Bolaji Abdullahi will today be formalised as the new spokesman of the ruling All progressives Congress, APC, at a mini-convention scheduled to hold at Abuja for the purpose, barring last minute change.
It was gathered that a former Sports Minister, Bolaji Abdullahi, from Kwara State, was being tipped for the job.
News Punch had since October 25th published that the ex-minister has been picked to replace Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who had resigned from the position to take a ministerial appointment from President Muhammadu Buhari's Government.
Bolaji Abdullahi, an indigene of Kwara State served as Minister of Sports under former President Goodluck Jonathan. He is also said to be a stooge to the Senate Presdent, Bukola Saraki.
The embattled Deputy National Publicity Secretary, of the party, Timi Frank, tried but failed to act in that capacity.
He has taken the party to court when it announced that he has been suspended.
It was however gathered that the leadership of the APC had concluded the plans to elect another spokesman from the North-Central geopolitical zone, with Kwara State emerging the preferred candidate.
The source said Abdullahi might emerge the new spokesman for the APC at a mini-convention expected to hold at the New Chelsea Hotel, Abuja at 11am.
It was also confirmed that delegates from only the six states of North-Central would attend the convention, while the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, members of the National Working Committee as well as governors from the states were billed to attend the convention.
APC BROKE Over Crisis; Power Disconnected As Buhari, Ministers Owe Dues, Saraki Too; Tinubu Loyalists Vow Not To Pay
News Proof 30.11.16 No comments Edit Post
The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC is said to be broke and insolvent, report according to ThisDay Newspaper suggests.
According to ThisDay, the APC insolvency has led the headquarters of the party electrical power source recently disconnected from the power grid over non-payment of its electricity bill to the Abuja Disco.
A reliable source at the APC’s national secretariat, who spoke to journalists yesterday, blamed the poor state of the ruling party’s finances on the non-payment of monthly dues by all cadre of political appointees on its platform, including Buhari.
He explained that based on the decision reached at the meeting of the party’s national leadership, it was agreed that APC members in the National Assembly were to pay N100,000 (senators) and N70,000 for the House of Representative members.
Although the party source failed to disclose the amount expected from Buhari and his deputy, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, he said most APC political office holders within this category had not been forthcoming with their contributions due to the internal crisis in the party.
He said the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and House Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, had also stopped the mandatory monthly payments since the party got engulfed in a crisis.
Similarly, the source said all political appointees of the party, including Buhari, who is also the leader of the party, had not paid their dues since they took office, contrary to the party’s constitution.
Sources also revealed that some APC governors, appointees of the president and many members of the National Assembly loyal to a prominent leader of the party, have vowed not to contribute a dime to fund the party until “there is a change in the party’s leadership”.
However, a top member of the party confirmed to THISDAY that only the Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing, Mustapha Baba Shauri, from Borno State has been able to pay N500,000.
Also, a few lawmakers were said to have paid for only three months since they were elected into office.
The source said: “It is only one minister that has paid part of his dues. From the records, it is the Minister of State for Works. However, based on the charter of the party, ministers and senators are supposed to pay N100,000 each month.
“The party is in serious financial straits. We have not been able to settle loads of debts.
“It is even worse when the expenditure profile averages N100 million per month. The party is struggling to meet its overheads because some governors that should pick the bills have refused to pay. The funds don’t come directly, but in the form of the governors bankrolling the visits of the national officers during visits to their states.
“It is so bad now that the party is even struggling to meet its overheads. This is not even enough considering the financial commitments of the national officers, who have aides, logistics and even fuelling their official vehicles. It would have been better if they have fixed allowances given to each of them.
“The financial problem of the party was compounded following the decision of President Buhari not to sponsor the party, in line with the transparency and anti-corruption disposition of his administration.”
Buhari, it was also revealed, does not want to replicate the mistakes of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which openly used state resources to fund its activities when it was in power.
“True to his word, nothing has come to the party from the presidency since June 2015 when the party took over power,” said the source.
Executives of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Ward 6, in Kaduna South Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have alleged a N3 million bribe by Uba Sani, Political Adviser to Governor Nasir el-Rufai, to engineer the expulsion of the Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial zone, Shehu Sani.
Abbas Mohammed Anni, Chairman of Ward 6, Tudun Wada North, while addressing a press conference on Sunday in Kaduna, also called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other anti-graft agencies to look into the alleged bribery allegation.
He said the silence and in-action over the first N500,000 bribe is what gave them the courage and audacity to come up with a bigger bribe of N3 million this time around.
He said: “We believe the intervention of the EFCC in this bribery allegation will be a further testimony of the Buhari administration’s fight against corruption and deter others from further acts of such criminality.
“We are gathered here today to bring to your notice moves by some unscrupulous elements acting on the orders of the State Governor and his cronies, to create rancor and disaffection within the APC in Kaduna State.
“We have been reliably informed that the political advisers to the State Governor held a closed door meeting with few members of this EXCO and bribed them with the sum of N3 million just to engineer the expulsion of one of our most illustrious leader in person of Sen. Shehu Sani.
“It is very unfortunate that this ugly move is propping up again after the disgraceful episode of a N500,000 bribe that was purportedly given by the same set of people to instigate the alleged suspension of Sen. Shehu Sani about a year ago.”
Anni in the statement read by the secretary of the ward, Ayok Danboyi added: “At this point in time when our state is faced with unprecedented cases of kidnapping, armed banditry in Birnin Gwari, wanton killings that could be likened to a genocide in the southern parts of the state, it is expected that our governor should have channeled state resources into curbing these menace, instead of wasting money and valuable time on fighting imaginary enemies.
“It is now over a year and half since the inception of the Buhari led government, states with focused leadership have commissioned numerous developmental projects, it saddens our hearts that our state Kaduna cannot boast of even a single project that was completed and commissioned under its present leadership. Instead the government has only succeeded in throwing the APC in Kaduna State into turmoil.
“Let me reiterate, let me reemphasise and let me say it again that nobody and I repeat NOBODY can bulldoze or entice us to make the suicidal move of expelling Sen. Shehu Sani who is the most visible and most performing elected officer in Kaduna State from APC. We have 23 Local Government Areas and about 280 wards in Kaduna State. For the State Government to single out Tudun Wada North Ward 6 for financial inducements is very laughable as we have outgrown the era of ‘Ghana must go’ politics.
“Let me make it unequivocally clear that we are solidly with Sen. Shehu Sani not only because he is our son, also for his outstanding performance since being elected as a Senator. We will match word for word and action for action all moves that are aimed at distracting or deterring him from continuing his magnificent work in the National Assembly and Kaduna State.”
Anni called on the APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, the North West Zonal Chairman, Alh. Inuwa Abdulkadir, the APC North West Reconciliation Committee Chairman, Alh. Aminu Bello Masari to act fast “before the Kaduna State Governor and his cronies destroy APC in Kaduna State.
“We cannot sit and watch while some few individuals destroy our collective efforts all in a bid to actualize their selfish political ambitions.”
However, one of the executives Auwal Abdulhameed, who also claimed to be the authentic Secretary of Ward 6, said the allegations against them are false and unfounded.
According to him, “Out of the 17 members of the executives who suspended Shehu Sani, nine of them refused to sign the expulsion.
“Among them is the Chairman of the ward who was given a car by Shehu Sani while the other eight got motorcycles.
“We have petitioned the Commissioner of Police and we shall sue for defamation of character over these accusations that we received N3 million from SA on Political to Governor el-Rufai.”
Abdulhameed also claimed that Danboyi, who read the statement at the press conference, was an impostor. The SA to el-Rufai on Political Affairs, when contacted, declined to make any comment on the allegations.

A Word For Tinubu Political Obituary Writers, By Na-Allah Mohammed Zagga
News Proof 28.11.16 No comments Edit Post
Is the outcome of the Ondo gubernatorial election enough and conclusive evidence that Jagaba Bola Tinubu is politically "finished" as some emergency wheelchair analysts have concluded?
Was the election primarily designed to destroy Tinubu or to strength APC as a Party? Did Buhari tell you Tinubu is no longer relevant and desirable to the protection of his political interest? Can you claim to be a staunch APC supporter by promoting acrimony and bitter divisions among its leaders? Is the so-called humiliation of Tinubu the official policy of APC as a party?
In 2012, these same political "experts" arrogantly declared that Tinubu was politically kaput because his then ACN candidate Rotimi Akeredolu was defeated by Dr. Segun Mimiko. Yet, the same Tinubu became the rallying point for galvanising opposition parties into one single formidable merger that saw the routing of PDP from power.
Tinubu controlled more states than other former opposition parties in Nigeria. He is a political giant killer, a consummate organiser and mobiliser whose political strategic genius was never taken lightly even by the then ruling PDP. His unflagging commitment to entrench unity and bridge the gap of suspicions and mutual distrust among opposition parties in Nigeria resulted in the most formidable merger that swept away a dominant ruling party which once boasted it would rule for 60 years.
The PDP was deceived by a false sense of security, and even boasted that the merger could not last longer than a year. It was proved wrong.
The success of the opposition parties in 2015 cannot be fairly and objectively written without recognising the role of Jagaba Bola Tinubu in bringing about the most formidable coalition to oust PDP from power. As the Daily Trust newspaper Monday columnist Mahmud Muhammad Jega once noted, it is a mistake to humiliate Tinubu out of APC when you don't have any southwest politician formidable enough to replace him for now.
Triumphalism is politically dangerous. No wise master should delight in destroying his loyal slaves. Tinubu had a choice to retain the southwest without caring to capture power at the centre, a posture that would have helped PDP retain power. None of the former opposition parties could have individually captured power at the centre because they were largely regional parties, unlike PDP which enjoyed broader national appeal, an advantage it destroyed on account of corruption and greed.
Having formed a government at the centre, what the APC needs now more than anything else is unity. You cannot however achieve that goal if you allow some people within the party to start singing the war songs of "finishing off" Tinubu or anybody else. President Buhari should distance himself from party members whose goals is to spread the seeds of acrimony and bitter divisions and driving a wedge between him and Jagaba Tinubu.
It is politically naive, even foolhardy, to start shouting who is Tinubu. The APC National Chairman Chief John Oyegun should make reconciliation his priority and not adding fuel to the flames of acrimony and bitter divisions. You can't humiliate Tinubu without putting party unity at risk. The disintegration of the alliance by starting wars you can't finish will do more harm than good to the APC.
Despite the fact that nobody is indispensable, some people do make a difference. Former Governor Suswam of Benue State humiliated Senator Barnabas Gemade and other key party leaders that helped the PDP to power and he paid dearly for it. Just because you have power in your hands, don't seek to bring down key stakeholders that contributed immensely to the party's success.
As Yahaya Adamu Bajoga argued, when former PDP Governors threatened to leave, they were cavalierly told "good riddance to bad rubbish." The rest is history.
