Tinubu Was My 'boy', I Made Him; Ajomale Talking Rubbish - Chief Ayo Adebanjo Explodes

ayo adebanjo and bola tinubu
Chief Ayo Adebanjo is no doubt a prominent statesman and one of the leading voices in the South West region has claimed the National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu was made what he is today by his efforts with God's help.

He, however, lambasted the All Progressives Congress, APC Chairman Lagos State, over the statement credited to him that he (Ayo Adebanjo) imposed former Lagos State deputy Governor, Buknor Akerele on Tinubu in 1999.

Chief Adebanjo in a recent interview with The Sun Newspaper, bore his mind on several issues of national interest. As a known clamourer of Nigeria restructuring, he said until the country is restructured, the country unity is under threat.

He further stated that anyone planning for 2019 election without restructuring Nigeria is wasting his time.

On how he made Tinubu, the Sun Newspaper quoted Chief Adebanjo to have said:

"Where was Ajomale when we were running the party? Nobody imposed anybody."
"Akerele was with us then in the NADECO. Tinubu was abroad. We were the people facing the fire at home. When they said I imposed Akerele, they should say I imposed Tinubu too."
"I do not know Ajomale all this time. Ajomale is a creation of Tinubu. And Tinubu is my own creation by the grace of God. I signed his papers. We conducted the primaries under which he became the governor. If I was partisan, Tinubu would not have been governor. But he won a primary election which we set up which was disputed by the chairman of Lagos AD."
On the emergence of Akere as Tinubu's Deputy, he said:
"When Tinubu won the primaries, he wanted another person and we said no. It was not a question of imposing, but rewarding people who worked for the party. By the time we elected Tinubu, where was Ajomale in those days? What position was he holding in any branch of the Alliance For Democracy (AD)? So, because he has become a stooge of Tinubu now, he can be talking nonsense. They should beware when they cast aspersion on their seniors. Tinubu would not even say what he said."

Circulated Photos Of My Visit To Buhari In London; The True Story - Tinubu Speaks

Bola Tinubu
Through his media aide, Mr. Tunde Rahman, the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and former Governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu has dismissed the report on social media insinuating that he said he didn't visit President Muhammadu Buhari in London last week.

The social media report trended yesterday, claiming that Tinubu disclaimed his visit to the President in the company of the APC Chairman Board of Trustees, Chief Bisi Akande.

Tinubu was quoted as saying that he was actually in Ibadan on the supposed day he was reported in London to see the president.

In a statement by his media aide, Tunde Rahman, Tinubu was quoted as saying "The report about the so-called denial of the visit is the handiwork of mischief- makers. I felt we should not dignify that with a response.

That report beggars belief. Asiwaju Tinubu and Baba Akande were in London. The reason they travelled to the United Kingdom was to see President Buhari. And they visited him last Thursday and held discussions with him at the Abuja House in London. After the visit, the President, as a mark of respect, saw off his guests to the door.

"Pictures were taken during and after the visit and released to the media by the Presidency. These pictures were international headlines. How can anybody in his or her right senses be saying there was no such visit? It's simply crazy! I can't just get it."

EXCLUSIVE: Buhari, Tinubu, Oyegun, To Storms Awka For Senator Andy Uba Reception To APC

Tinubu Buhari and Oyegun
President Muhammadu Buhari, the national Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegu; the party's national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande, are few of the prominent APC Chieftains who are billed to attend the grand declaration and reception of Senator Andy Uba from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, News Punch exclusively gathered.

Finding by News Punch revealed that Senator Uba, who is representing Anambra South Senatorial District had few days registered at Awka in the ongoing APC membership revalidation and registration exercise. This has put to rest the speculation that he has defected or not.

According to a closed-confidant and friend, Comrade Ajibade Samuel, there is no doubt about Senator Uba's defection to the APC. He confirmed to News Punch's correspondent in Lagos that Senator Uba is now full fledge APC member, having registered as a member in his ward in the ongoing registration and revalidation exercise.

According to Comrade Ajibade, following Senator Uba's official registration, all is now set for an open declaration of the senator and thousands of supporters across the state in a yet to be fixed date.

News Punch further gathered that the delay for the date of the reception may not be unconnected to the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari, who is currently in the United Kingdom on medical vacation. Th

Senator Uba during his membership registration at his country home in Uga, Aguata Local Government Area of the state said APC has the ideology and focus which he needed to tap into to provide quality representation to his constituents.

He further said he joined the APC because of other personalities in the party with sound ideas whom he looked up to in politics.

Being an ex-governor, and a two-term Senator, Uba no doubt has an enviable charisma, character and the much-needed experience to take Anmabra State to it desired height. Senator Uba is a household name in Anambra politics and remains the only aspirant to beat in the governorship race.

Prof. Charles Soludo, Chief George Muoghalu, Chief Barth Nwibe, Mr. Obinna Okonkwo, Chief Paul Chukwuma and Chief Obinna Uzor, Dr Chike Obidigbo, Chie Raph Okeke, Dr Ifeanyi Ubah, Chief Tony Nwoye, Sen. Uche Ekwunife, and Prince Donatus Okonkwo are few others who have also declared to contest the Anmabra governorship on the platform of APC

Buhari In Latest Move To Rejig Cabinet; EFCC Boss, Top Ministers Affected; Pacifies Tinubu With New Appointments

Buhari In Latest Move To Rejig Cabinet; EFCC Boss, Top Ministers Affected; Pacifies Tinubu With New Appointments

EXCLUSIVE: Buhari In Latest Move To Rejig Cabinet; EFCC Boss, Top Ministers Affected; Pacifies Tinubu With New Appointments
Barring last minutes change, some appointees of President Muhammadu Buhari would be relieved of their jobs in 2017, report according to Daily Sun suggests

A top source in the Presidency specifically said appointees indicted or tainted with allegations of graft “would be shown the door and it will be sooner than later.”

But Presidency sources said such plan was not in the offing.

The sack, it was learnt, may be before the end of the first quarter of 2017.

The top official insisted “Buhari will shock Nigerians who think he cannot act on graft allegations against some of his appointees. He is only being fair since some of them are being investigated on those allegations and reports are being awaited…But, the President will drop some next year; that’s for sure.”

Meanwhile, Daily Sun also gathered that Buhari may not re-present Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Mustafa Magu, to the Senate for confirmation, after his rejection.

His replacement is a former Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), who was in charge of Operations (B) Department

Senate rejected Magu’s nomination on December 20, 2016, after lawmakers met in an Executive Session to consider a security report by the Department of State Services (DSS), which indicted the EFCC boss.

Thereafter, Senate spokesman, Abdullahi Sabi, said Magu’s rejection was based on a ‘worrisome’ security report, made available to the lawmakers by the DSS

Sabi said: “Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria wishes to inform the general public that based on security reports available to the lawmakers, we could not proceed and confirm the nomination of Ibrahim Magu as the executive chairman of EFCC.

“Accordingly, Senate, hereby, rejects the said nomination and has returned the said nomination to Mr. President for further action. There is no confusion here. We have said it is based on security reports.

“Please, all public officers go for security screening and we are saying based on security reports, we cannot proceed and confirm. We are rejecting it and returning it to Mr. President for further actions. That is just the statement. It is as simple as that. That is exactly what Senate has said and I do not have any other explanation more than this,” he said.

A status report from the DSS indicted Magu.

The report showed that Magu was allegedly involved in the disposal of seized assets from convicted corrupt public officials when immediate-past chairman of EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde, held sway.

The report also questioned Magu’s integrity to lead President Buhari’s anti-corruption war. Also, the report said the EFCC, under Magu’s watch, is involved in human rights abuses.

However, a source hinted yesterday that a rejig was likely in order to smoothen alleged cold relationship between Buhari and All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The source said the former Lagos State governor may be given some appointments to compensate him.

Sources from the APC disclosed that Buhari began the moves last Friday as a way of ending the internal crisis between him and Tinubu, to prevent it from affecting him (The President) and his party in 2019 general elections.

Reacting to this development, however, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, told Daily Sun yesterday that he was not aware of any cabinet shake-up, “If any cabinet reshuffle is to be carried out, it will be made public.”

But our source said the President will reshuffle his cabinet next year which will affect Ondo, Kogi and Lagos whereby Tinubu ‘s loyalists will be appointed as the new ministers in the affected states.

According to the source, “It was part of the plans designed by the President to pacify Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu so that the chances of the President in winning the election in 2019 will be high.

Another source, who confirmed the new development said, ‘’Baba (Buhari) knows Tinubu is an asset and he cannot toy with him politically especially now that 2019 is running nearer.

“we will only wait till early next year before leaving this APC for Buhari and his brothers“.

That was a quote credited to a certain notable chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress venting his anger over President Muhammadu Buhari Stance on the party affairs

Accoding to 247Ureports, massive decampment from from the APC within the few coming months would be imminent should corrective measures not be taken to placate the unhappy members of the party.

One of the top sources who spoke with our correspondent, pressed on the issue of ongoing tussles within the party that has resulted to the party not having a clear leader or leadership. He indicated that it has left many of the top members angry over the direction of the party come early next year when many of the politicians would begin preparations against their planned interests and races.

The source who is also a top member of the APC, expressed concern over the Bola Tinubu group who have made their anger open to the party and to the public. He indicated that folks within the Tinubu group have expressed interest in vying for the presidential seat in 2019 while others have expressed interest in the various gubernatorial races coming up in the various states.

“The party is so much in disarray to conduct a clean and rancor free primaries“, lamented the top APC chieftain who went to add that “we will only wait till early next year before leaving this APC for Buhari and his brothers“.

The source refused to mention which party the aggrieved APC members intend to defect into when they eventually leave the APC. But the source hinted that top APC members from the south west have been holding numerous meetings to carve out pathways out of the imbroglio. And one of the pathways have been publicly disclosed to include the formation of a new political party.

This is particularly the case for the likes of Governor Nasiru Elrufai of Kaduna State who have begun preparations for the 2019 presidential race and others like him in the party who believe that the 2019 candidacy of President Buhari would not only be unlikely but unpopular.

The group of would-be aspirants for the top tickets are said to be prepared for the eventuality of President Buhari decision to hold on to the APC ticket for 2019. For the group, an alternate party would inevitably be the only option.

The new political party is believed to include the active participation of personalities like the Senate President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abubakar Atiku, Bola Tinubu, Peter Obi, Ohakim, Governor of Adamawa State, Governor of Kaduna State, Governor of Sokoto State and a host of other former governors.

It is expected that by January 2017, the APC will become a mere shadow of its old self.

APC Crisis: Tinubu Responsible For Own MISFORTUNES - Former Ekiti Gov. Fayemi Tears Estranged Godfather To Shred
Sequel to the ongoing intraparty crisis segregating the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC), another known "political son" to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who had chosen to pitch his tent with President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Oyegun, Dr Kayode Fayemi has thrown a stone at his former political godfather, Tinubu over the weekend.

The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, who Saturday described the embattled national leader of the party as a leader and hardworking person, however maintained that Tinubu was responsible for his own misfortunes in the party, saying no one can be seeing himself as the indispensable where thousand of intellectuals operate.

According to the former Ekiti State governor, "Asiwaju might have been instrumental to the political breakthrough of some of us, he has the financial muscle, but we equally paid our dues without opportunity of negotiation. We have always been the "Yes Sir" types and we never complained. But we never expected him to think such can continue where development takes place. It is no news that whatever goes around comes around."

Fayemi urged the supporters of the President Buhari-led administration to remain steadfast and focused. He added that the present economic situation of the country was a result of some injurious pieces of advice given the presidency at the inception of this administration by some people he described as leaders without visions who had wanted to hijack the presidency before God's intervention.

He assured Nigerians that everything shall soon take formation and the country shall regain her strength again as the giant of Africa, adding that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu should not continue tearing the party and the country apart with his "golden silence" which he (Fayemi) said was destructive and well understood.

"Asiwaju's antics are not new to us. We can never underrate his political calculations and permutations. Yet, we cannot continue worshiping him. He deserves respect that we are giving but should stop making this country and our party ungovernable for our leaders. The steering is always meant for the driver and not in conjunction with the conductor.

"Once a political party is formed and a national leader is appointed or elected, other mini-leaders should be humble enough to respect the decisions of the constituted authority no matter what. Wherever there is no orderliness, there can never be progress, and we call ourselves the Progressives. We must be ready to live out our name as the Progressives.

"What happened in Ondo State during our primary that produced Chief Rotimi Akeredolu against the wishful calculation and permutation of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to impose Hon. Segun Abraham was a complete display of egocentric orientation by Asiwaju. No single man, I repeat, no single individual can override the decision of our political party. No more in APC!

"We have presented Akeredolu and we believe he is winning the governorship election by all means. Ondo people have supported our candidate and with the reactions of the people, he has the victory already. Our second coming to this state will be to inaugurate Chief Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) as the Governor of Ondo State, political anti-party and calculations of some disgruntled elements notwithstanding, because everything, I mean every arrangement is in order," Kayode Fayemi assured APC supporters.

Tinubu And Ambushed Political Ambitions, By Okanga Agila
Self-styled national leader of the ruling APC, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu is in the political wilderness. For a politician of his status, whose passion for power is unsurpassed and believes in the kingmaker syndrome, but of a dubious dimension, President Muhammadu Buhari’s refusal to support his faulty permutations has been a sore in the throat. Buhari’s integrity to always see things straight has unknowingly ambushed his political ambitions and his is quite sad.

Many times, when Nigerians argue that politicians’ lust for power is for themselves at the expense of the ordinary masses, some skeptics vehemently deny the assertions. But the proofs are becoming clearer by the day.

Nigeria condescended to the abyss of a messy political decay, where all laws, rules or creeds governing the sanctity in party affairs or the polity were brazenly floated. At the turn of every political dispensation, the country would produce a mesh of wailers wailing for their ill-treatment, snatched party nomination tickets and a dangerously skewed democratic system, where some leaders assumed the status of demigods and other party members, pawns on their chessboard or slaves.

These desire to change this inherently defective posturing was the crest of “Change” upon which the APC anchored its campaigns in 2015 and eventually ousted the now opposition PDP. Tinubu’s constant refrains were loud chants of “change” and the broom waved symbolically to suggest the sweeping of the stains in the system, which he proudly emphasized, it was for the good of the country.

But Sen. Tinubu and some of his cohorts have gleefully forgotten all about “change” and the betterment of Nigeria. He has forgotten his pledge of commitment to make Nigeria great again. With PMB as captain of the ship, it is now about who gets what federal job patronage and not about who is competent to serve Nigeria. It is anger about what any APC political kingpin has not gotten enough in patronage; instead of strengthening the weak institutions of government to deliver good governance.

In his inured conviction, Tinubu thought having played a significant role in the enthronement of PMB in 2015; the President would sign off a chunk of Nigeria to dash him in appreciation. But PMB is a different kind of person or politician and the least to downplay public interest to please political godfathers. Tinubu is sufficiently angered with this reality and nothing seems to please him more than to contemplate a new platform, nurture it and begin another round of flirting on the innocent souls of Nigerians with all sorts of deceits.

There have been weeks of speculations about Tinubu’s intention to dump the APC to float a new party preparatory to confronting his political foes in 2019. Tinubu speaks less on this issue, but acts more. And an English idiom says, action speaks louder than words. He has given up hope that PMB would ever bow to his whims and caprices, by his refusal to sack APC national chairman, Chief John Oyegun or just like he declined directing the replacement of Ondo state 2016 APC governorship flagbearer, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu, with Tinubu’s candidate floored at the primary polls.

Therefore, when Nigeria’s former Vice President Atiku Abubakar barks in the uplands of the North about the wrongdoings of the Buhari presidency, he has sighted a disgruntled Tinubu and in him, “his soul must be well pleased” in 2019 for his dream of ruling Nigeria as President. He believes, when Tinubu coughs or thunders, the skies are pulled down and every Nigerian bows to his alluring political charm.

Now, Buhari’s series of reconciliatory meetings with Tinubu for amicable resolution of the crisis have proved abortive and Tinubu cannot ever be settled insofar as PMB is unwilling to be manipulated or do his bidding. So, Tinubu has decided to make a bold statement.

Tinubu shunned the party’s mega governorship campaign rally, in Akure, Ondo state. But no one expected him to grace it. How could he attend the campaign of an enemy, who snatched the ticket from his anointed candidate? While PMB personally attended the rally, with all APC governors, except that of Lagos state, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode; his Osun counterpart, Rauf Aregbesola and Ogun’s Abiola Ajimobi who also stayed away, obviously in allegiance to Tinubu for assisting them mount the throne in their various states.

In any case, even without their presence, the Akure rally was a resounding success. The interpretation of the failure of some of the APC governors to attend the rally in their geo-political zone based on the suspected prompting of Tinubu is their acceptance of being the apron strings of the APC national leader. It is this primitive loyalty Tinubu expects from Buhari. The APC leader thinks when he barks to PMB, his words should remain sacrosanct. Failure of the governors of nearby states to grace the presence of the President in their vicinity is indication of the disregard for the office of the President.

What the conduct has conclusively argued is that for the Tinubus and his clique what matters in the Nigerian project is how their stomachs are filled. That they are dissatisfied each time patronage extended to them is not enough. It is reason not to see anything good in the Buhari presidency or his other committed lieutenants’ and so, he must be unseated in 2019. Tinubu’s intemperate political ambitions and wealth accumulation flair has been ambushed so that Nigerians would come out better for it.

His kind of mentality is old logic to Nigerians. No amount of intrigues from Tinubu can blind Nigerians and re-baptise him with another name or the garments of a selfless politician. He is just a man after his “stomach,” after an incurable and deadly lust for power.

Whether Tinubu or his political friend of convenience, Atiku Abubakar discredits PMB, Nigerians whom he is serving faithfully are the witnesses and shall pass the verdict at the appropriate time. But what is certain is that Nigeria, at least under Buhari would not revert back to the doomed era of sharing the country’s commonwealth to a few greedy political elite. Nigeria’s NNPC will no longer be anybody’s ATM card to unfettered access to illicit cash; no cronies of the President, his friends and even the President himself would administer CBN from Aso Villa with secret codes to its US Dollar or other world currencies vaults to siphon Nigeria’s money.

Nigerians are excited that no long list of dead woods or unproductive persons are heading or make up membership of federal government boards or parastaltals, on the altar of party patronage. The country would no longer have political Military Generals, who spend more time at the Presidential Villa for cocktail parties’ while criminals’ challenge and take over swathes of Nigeria’s territories. Now, time tested, flat bellied and devoted military Generals who can command the Army, Air Force, Navy to achieve results are in charge. The Inspector General of Police (IGP) is berthing #ChangeBeginsWithMe in the Nigerian Police.

Ultimately, PMB pledged that he believes in any Nigerian who has the capacity to serve the country dedicatedly and truthfully, irrespective of party affiliation or religion. It is this dogmatic adherence to party patronage in appointments’ in the past that has destroyed or weakened public institutions of governance in Nigeria. And PMB is the least to succumb to blackmail in order to allow the mess in the polity flourish.
