JOB VACANCIES: Gov. Ambode To Employ 1000 Graduates As Bus Conductors
News Proof 29.10.16 No comments Edit Post
The National President of the Bus Conductors Association of Nigeria, BCAN, Comrade Israel Ade Adeshola through the Lagos State ministry of transportation said it would employ 1000 graduates from different Universities as Bus Conductors.
Comrade Adeshola in an interview with Vanguard also disclosed that the new policy of the Lagos state government under the leadership of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is collaborating with the association to give Bus Conducting profession a new look.
According to him, “presently Lagos state government through the Lagos State Drivers Institute, LASDRI is training and accrediting conductors in the state, adding that after the training the graduands would be employed as Bus Conductors and would be on the payroll of the government with a salary worth of N50,000 per month.
“The objective is to make the job of bus conducting attractive, respected and dignified as obtainable globally”, he said.
Adeshola explained that there is a project in the pipeline by the state government to change the face of transportation system to enhance security and also provide employment opportunity in the state.
Speaking on the vision of the association, he said, since the establishment in 2008, it has been working relentlessly with the federal government through the national assembly as well as some state governments to establish its presence.
Rice'll Soon Sell At N5000, Dollar At N150, Fuel N30, Buhari's My Angel Sent To Rescue Nigeria; 'God' Says - Prophet Okeowo
News Proof 24.10.16 No comments Edit Post
Prophet Ade Okeowo of Word of Liberty Evangelical Ministry, Ikorodu, Lagos State, has revealed that Nigeria will soon experience a turnaround as prices on commodities will crash in no time, stating that God did not, however, specify that the revelation would come to pass under President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime.
He specifically mentioned that God told him the cost of bag of rice and fuel, will be drastically reduced.
He made this revelation in a chat with Encomium, urging Nigerians to stop casting blames on President Buhari, as he needed time to fix the country.
He said, “That’s what God has revealed to me. Listen to me attentively; I am not speaking my words but God’s.
“Now, people buy rice N25, 000 per bag but God told me that we’re going to buy a bag of rice as cheap as N5, 000. A US dollar will exchange for as low as N150 and fuel will sell for as low as N30 or N40 per litre. That’s what God said will happen in this country.”
Asked if his prophecies will come to pass during Buhari’s administration, the cleric said, “God didn’t tell me that one but He revealed to me all of these and more beautiful things will happen after all the pain, but Buhari’s efforts will lead to that.
“Nigeria will be forced to a stage of break up but God will intervene.”
The Prophet further noted that Buhari is not to blame for the economic woes.
He said, “We should not blame anybody. People should not even hold Buhari responsible at all. From what God has revealed to me, He sent Buhari to Nigerians as an angel.
“God has also revealed to me that Buhari shouldn’t be worried, that everything will soon be alright. God showed me that Nigeria is like a second hand car (Tokunbo). We all know that if you buy a second hand car, it’s surely not in a perfect state. You will be fixing this today, that tomorrow until it’s fully fit. And it’s not something that will be done overnight.
“We all need to understand that if we want the country to move forward. Buhari is the one buying all the spare parts to repair the damaged car called Nigeria. By the time he completes the repair, the vehicle will move and everybody will enjoy it. That’s just the parable of Nigeria’s situation now.
“Everything will soon be alright. There are many Josephs that God is going to use to uplift this country, and Buhari is one of them.”
Recalling the other prophecies of his that have also come to pass in recent times, the Prophet said, “I predicted the Olympic soccer final. I said Germany would defeat Nigeria, it came to pass. I even said it’s going to be 2-0. I said the gold medal was for Brazil, they all came to pass.
“I predicted President Jonathan would lose the 2015 presidential election, a lot of people didn’t believe it. Even some prophets almost bet their lives on it that Buhari would lose, but it was revealed to me that Buhari would win and he won.
“Even, God revealed to me that no matter what other governorship candidates in Oyo do, Abiola Ajimobi will emerge victorious and it came to pass. I still have a message for him.”
The father of two concluded by saying “God told me to warn Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State to beware of the way he chose his commissioners so that they will not destroy his government.
“Also, Governor Amosun of Ogun State should be careful of some people in the state, because some of them are hell bent in destroying his government as well.”
I do not like to delve into matters touching and concerning the APC because I am not a member.
However what is happening in the ruling party today transcends partisan politics and should be a concern to us all. At the very least we can learn some very hard lessons from it.
The truth is that the behaviour of Chief John Odige-Oyegun towards the man that single-handedly made him the National Chairman of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is reprehensible.
And neither does this matter begin or end with the way and manner in which the Ondo state governorship primaries were conducted or its final outcome.
It goes much deeper than that and the Ondo affair is only symptomatic of a much deeper malaise and wider conspiracy to humiliate the National Leader of the APC by forces within his party that are even greater than him.
Those forces represent the hidden hand. They are a small cabal of power-brokers who constitute the leadership of the Buhari-led CPC. These people believe that they were born to rule and that they own Nigeria.
They simply used Tinubu’s old ACN as a compliant and ready piggy-back to catapult their way back to power and once they achieved that they never looked back.
Some of us warned Tinubu at the time about the dangers of riding the tiger and allowing himself to be used by these very dark and sinister forces but he would not listen.
No true student of history could have made such a cataclysmic and monumental error given the terrible experiences of others from the south-west, and indeed the entire south, who collaborated with such ultra-conservative, sectarian and arcane forces with a clear and distinct ethnic and religious agenda in the past.
Such forces can never be comfortable with a well-connected, highly sophisticated, independent-minded, strong, unpredictable, uncontrollable and experienced Yoruba leader and southern gladiator with a June 12th pedigree, a NADECO background, a massive war-chest and a widespread and formidable political base.
They may use him to achieve their objective but they can never trust him or allow him to have control of the party machinery or to wield any real power when it comes to running the affairs of the nation.
Most importantly once they have finished using him it becomes their duty and cardinal objective not just to cut him down to size but also to castrate and render him impotent and eventually destroy him.
That is their way. It is also a classic and vintage Nicollo Machiavelli move. This great writer that has had more influence on political thinking and strategies than perhaps any other author in human history taught us a critical and crucial lesson in his famous 14th century literary masterpiece and treatise on the power game titled “The Prince”. He tells us that the first thing that a Prince must do once he has achieved power is to destroy those that put him there.
And that is precisely what those that seek to do Tinubu in are doing. Worst still they are using his own erstwhile discipiles as a first line of attack against him.
It is not just Odige-Oyegun that has turned his back on him but also his former political protegees and former ACN associates like Tunde Fashola, Ibikunle Amosu, Kayode Fayemi, Biodun Ajimobi, Olorunimbe Mamora, Niyi Adebayo, Rotimi Akeredolu and numerous others.
Pulling the strings from behind the scenes and encouraging and funding the rebellion are hardline Buhari-supporters like my good friend Governor Nasir El Rufai and a number of others.
Their objective is to establish a new political order in the south west which is beholden to them alone, to replace Tinubu as the National Leader of the party and to utterly demystify and crush him in order to prepare the ground for the emergence of a new and more compliant Yoruba running mate for either Buhari himself or El Rufai in 2019.
As a graphic illustration of this interesting and unfolding agenda, the powers that be in the APC, led by Buhari himself, fired six shots at Tinubu inmediately after they formed government.
The first was the Senate Presidency affair and the Bukola Saraki matter which saw the defeat and humiliation of Tinubu’s prefered candidate for Senate President.
The second shot was the Speaker of the House of Representatives affair and the Yakubu Dogara matter which, again, saw the defeat and humiliation of Tinibu’s prefered candidate for the position of Speaker of the House.
The third was the vital issue of Ministerial appointments in which not one single Ministerial nominee of Tinubu’s was accepted and appointed as a Minister by Buhari.
Every single person that he nominated from the south west and elsewhere as Minister was rejected and instead the slots were filled by his political adversaries and/or their nominees.
Many erroneously believe that Mr. Lai Mohammed, who is from Kwara state, was Tinubu’s choice and nominee for Minister of Information but this was not the case.
The person that he nominated for Minister of Information was not Lai Mohammed but Mr. Dele Alake, his former Commissioner of Information in Lagos state.
Again he nominated Mr. Wale Edun, his former Commissioner of Finance in Lagos state, for the position of Minister of Finance but this was rejected and Governor Ibikunle Amosu’s candidate, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, got the job instead.
This went on across the board for every single person that Tinubu nominated and presented for the position of Minister last year and it was a terrible humiliation for him. It was a dirty slap in his face.
The fourth shot was the James Faleke matter in Kogi state where it was agreed by the real landlords of the APC in the core north that Tinubu must not be allowed to gain a foothold in the north central zone by getting his own Yoruba kinsman and candidate to be elected as governor of that state.
Hence Faleke was ruthlessly dropped and shabbily treated and another person was selected to be the gubernatorial candidate of that state. It worked, Faleke went to court and sadly he lost. That was the end of the story.
The fifth shot is the thorough and systematic, though subtle and covert, humiliation and relegation of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, a close associate and political protegee of Tinubu and a spiritual son of the reverred Pastor Enoch Adeboye of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), to not just a spare tyre as Vice President but also to a very flat one.
Rather than being allowed to participate in the crucial decision-making processes on vital and critical issues of state and governance as any Vice President should, Osinbajo has been kept in the dark about virtually everything and he has little or no power to effect anything.
When such decions are to be debated, discussed and made the Vice President is never invited into the room and neither is he even aware that there is such a meeting going on.
Worse still he is constantly being directed to represent the President at official functions all over the country as if he were more his Personal Assistant, Special Advisor or Minister rather than the Vice President of the country. Osinbajo’s crime is simply that he is loyal to Tinubu and he has refused to dump or betray him.
The sixth and perhaps most devastating shot is the fact that the party machinery has not only been taken away from Tinubu with the effective highjacking of Odige-Oyegun but that it has also opted to do the bidding of his mortal enemies and to fight him.
An eloquent testimony to this disturbing fact is the outcome of the Ondo state gubernatorial primaries where Tinubu’s candidate was edged out and cheated of the nomination by the party leadership.
This was the last straw that broke the camels back and predictably Tinubu has reacted in a very loud, aggressive and profound manner by publicly calling for the removal of the National Chairman of the party.
Yet calling for the removal of Odigie-Oyegun is not enough. The whole situation calls for critical thiking, sober reflection and deep retrospection.
The point that needs to be clearly understood when considering these six shots and the unfolding anti-Tinubu agenda within the APC is the fact that, contrary to all pretensions, President Muhammadu Buhari is part and parcel of it and he is in fact the moving spirit behind the whole conspiracy.
Nasir El Rufai and a number of others are simply the strategists and enforcers. Buhari, Mamman Daura and Abba Kyari are the masterminds.
Given all this one thing is clear: these people want Tinubu dead. If he does not realign quickly and fight hard to save his dwindling political fortunes and empire his APC friends and allies will destroy him in a slow, clinical, sadistic and systematic manner. And they will do it with a big, beautiful and friendly smile on their faces.
The fact of the matter is that, right from the outset, Tinubu failed to accept the fact that he was in bed with demons.
He refused to appreciate the fact that he was sleeping with beasts that are hell bent on eating his flesh, driniking his blood and ruthlessly implementing an ancient ethnic and religious agenda.
He gave them his all, caused them to win an election and trusted them to honor their word and treat him with respect and decorum.
He failed to appreciate the fact that you cannot make a deal with snakes and expect them to honor their word.
He forgot that you cannot wine and dine with cancerous lepers and hungry tigers without ending up being served as the final dish in a long, blood-curdling and Byzantian satanic feast.
Yet if the truth is to be told, no matter what mistakes he may have made, Tinubu does not deserve to be treated in this way.
Up until the Presidential elections were conducted last year he led and held together the south-western wing of the APC with an iron fist and he was the undisputed leader of the APC in that zone.
All four APC governors from the south west and virtually every single party leader waited on his every word and he called all the shots.
Sadly today, just over one year later, he is a caricature of his former self. Today Tinubu can only boast of having the ear and the full support of only two of those govermors, namely Rauf Aregbesola of Osun state, who will NEVER betray him no matter what, and Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos state who will also stand firmly behind him until the very end.
The truth is that Tinubu has lost much ground and political mileage in recent times and, as more daggers are pulled out over the next few months and years it is bound to get worse for him.
Yet that does not mean that he is finished. I say this because he is a tried and tested fighter and a formidable adversary who is quite capable of pulling the whole APC house down.
It would be a fatal error for any of his adversaries, including President Buhari, Vice President Atiku Abubakar or Senate President Bukola Saraki, to underestimate him or dismiss his ability to fight back.
In July 2016, just after my release from detention and during the course of an interview with Channels Television (which can still be viewed on Youtube) Mr. Seun Okinbaloye asked me whether I could ever contemplate going back to the APC and how I thought the ruling party would fare into the future.
I told him that I would NEVER go back to the APC under ANY circumstances. I also told him that in any case by 2019 there would not be an APC, as it is presently constituted, left because the party would have spilt up into three separate and distinct political entities.
I told him that the Tinubu group comprising of men like Baba Bisi Akande, Rauf Aregbesola, Akinwummi Ambode and others would establish one party, the Atiku Abubakar group comprising of men like Bukola Saraki, Rabiu Kwakwanso and many of the former PDP leaders and governors that had left for the APC when President Goodluck Jonathan was in power would establish another and that the Buhari group comprising of men like Nasir El Rufai, Bello Masari, Aminu Tambuwal, Rotimi Amaechi, Rochas Okorocha, Chris Ngige, Ogbonaya Onu, Adams Oshiomole and virtually the entire structure of the old CPC leadership in the core north would constitute yet another. I stand by this prediction.
These three strong and equally forceful factions can be likened to the proverbial three blind yet ravenous wolves.
They cannot stay in the same cage or remain on the same platform for long without tearing each other to pieces.
Eventually they will all go their separate ways and, hopefully, contend with a newly-branded and reinvigotated PDP in the field of battle in 2019.
What we are witnessing today in the ranks of the APC is the beginning of that bitter separation and messy divorce and it is going to get far worse.
It will be loud, bitter, acrimonious and rancorous and many political empires, careers and aspirations will be destroyed as a consequence of it.
My hope and prayer is that the PDP, which is also going through its own rigorous process of redefinition and reinvigoration, can get its act together before then, take advantage of the situation, pick up the pieces and win the presidential election in 2019. I am sure that we will.
Meanwhile my advise to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is to watch his back, consolidate his base, fight his enemies, reach out to new friends, accept the fact that he is at war and sleep with one eye wide open. The truth is that it will get far worse before it gets any better.

Open letter to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, by the United Voice of Badagry People Initiative (UVOB)
UVOB appeals to the Governor to encourage unity, fairness, equality, peace and security in Badagry
June 1, 2016
His Excellency Akinwunmi Ambode
Executive Governor of Lagos State
Governor’s Office
Alausa Secretariat
Lagos State, Nigeria
Your Excellency,
Kindly permit us to write you this open letter. Traditional leaders have played an important role in our communities and they continue to do so today. They present themselves as leaders of the community and represent the people’s voice, yet they must also act as role models in our society. We believe you can play an important role in making sure this happens. We believe you can be instrumental in fostering unity in Badagry. For this reason, we are writing you this open letter.
Disunity gives rise to inequality. Disunity hampers development. Disunity creates insecurity. For sustainable development and growth in Badagry’s environs, we need peace and security. But this peace and security can only be manifested when we have unity in our communities. And the problem, Mr Ambode, is that there is very little in Badagry.
Unity, fairness, equality, peace and security are important values in any democratic nation. However, some of these values including unity are absent from Badagry’s communities. We implore your administration to place Badagry at the forefront of its agenda in helping address the divisions pervasive across most of Badagry’s quarters.
We ask that you encourage all Badagrians to respect the rule of law and seek peace with their neighbour. We ask that you promote unity, fairness, equality, peace and security. Finally, we ask that you uphold the oath of your office: to “devote [yourself] to the service and well-being of the people of Nigeria”. And the reasons are clear:
1. Across Badagry, our people do not have regular power supply. Businesses and homes are being run without electricity. From Ajara to the Seme border, many Badagrians cannot turn on the light. Living life on generators is no life at all. Living in the biggest economy in Africa, arguably the most economically important state in Nigeria and the second largest commercial town in Lagos, it seems beyond belief that the law-abiding citizens of Badagry do not have electricity. Some have begun complaining that people in Ibereko, Aradagun, Mowo and Ikoga benefit from the presence of a hotel and army barracks, while those in Ajara and Seme “suffer” in darkness. It is time to power up Badagry!
2. Earlier this year in March, Badagrians urged you Mr Ambode, and fellow lawmakers to prioritise the provision of water. Residents made the plea in an interview with Lagos Metro, which visited the area during the official commissioning of eight modern boreholes offered by Hon. David Setonji, a lawmaker from Badagry Constituency II. While the provision of these boreholes to the Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and Badagry Central Local Government Area (LGA) are welcome developments, it is simply not enough! Badagrians have been struggling with poor water supply for decades, using power generators to pump water for example. Mr Ambode, it’s time for change! We ask that you improve water supply across Badagry.
3. Yet the problems Badagry faces go beyond water supply. It touches the need for good roads and relief transformers, accountability and transparency as well as peace and security. Since May 2011, we have appealed to the Governor’s office to work together with us in dealing with the issues that affect Badagrians’ lives. While we have made some progress, more needs to be done. Mr Ambode: will you help us?
4. Recently, a 14 year leadership tussle ended in Topo, a community in Badagry, which saw two ruling houses fight bitterly over which house the new Baale should come from. And while it seems this battle has ended, many continue to flourish. There is an on-going tussle between three houses in Akarakunmoh for the right to Baaleship for example.
5. Just a few days ago, a traditional ruler of Itoga in Badagry petitioned your administration, following alleged attempts to install a parallel monarch in his community. In the petition, dated May 11, 2016, it is claimed that the Onibereko of Ibereko in Olorunda LCDA, Oba Israel Ade Okoya, has been making attempts to impose another monarch on his domain shortly after his installation by the Akran of Badagry. While the matter has been taken to the state High Court in Badagry, Oba Okoya, in a telephone interview with The Nation, denied knowledge of attempting to install another monarch and went further to claim that Itoga was not a part of Badagry Local Government and thus the Akran of Badagry had no jurisdiction in the matter.
6. Mr Ambode, from paragraphs 4 and 5, it is clear that disunity and divisions have corroded relationships in Badagry’s communities. Those who are meant to set an example in public service – using their position to serve and support the needs of the Badagrian people – have brought unrest to Badagry. Court battles are more commonplace than regular power supply. It’s time for unity. It’s time for change!
If you walked around Badagry’s communities, the level of disunity is clear to see. We were once a happy, friendly and jovial people. But as the decades have progressed, many law-abiding citizens have become disgruntled, frustrated and disillusioned by traditional and political leaders who perpetually fail to fulfil their obligation while in office: to “devote [themselves] to the service and well-being of the people of Nigeria.”
We implore you the Lagos State Governor, Mr Ambode, and Badagry’s lawmakers to walk around Badagry. We implore you to seek the truth. You cannot want development, yet not peace. You cannot say you love Badagry, yet watch its people tear their own communities apart. You cannot call yourselves representatives of Lagos and ignore your own people when they ask for help. Come to Badagry – the people are waiting!
As Badagrians, we value democracy. We value leaders who make it their mission to serve the people’s interests, who encourage development and who seek peace. Our traditional leaders are not gods, they are human beings. They are not above the law, but subject to it. We can no longer allow bitter rivalries to tarnish Badagry’s name. It has never been more important than the present to bring stability back to Badagry.
Power plays are continuously being made in most of Badagry’s environs. Many of our leaders use their influence at state level to oppress the common man. Court cases involving our traditional leaders are causing more instability than resolving tension. Unity of mind, people and love is missing in Badagry. It is blurring the sight of development and creating opportunities for ill-treatment. It is dividing our people Mr Ambode.
Badagry is an economically active town that has been host to so many new developments such as the Sea Port and the recent discovery of oil. Without unity in our communities, the stability of these projects will be called into question. Mr Ambode, the Governor’s office can no longer turn a blind eye to Badagry. No longer can a blind eye be turned to corruption, disunity, inequity and injustice.
Democracy was created to serve the many, and not the few. Public services are public so they benefit all people. Public office means serving your people. One community cannot be lifted from the gutter, while another left to rot. It would be like restoring sight to one eye, yet removing the other. And even so, there are many individuals within Badagry’s communities who are contributing positively to its growth. They make every effort to contribute to the wellbeing of their people – let us not only recognise their achievements, but work with them for a safer, more prosperous Badagry.
Mr Ambode, disunity creates the opportunity for insecurity. Insecurity creates the opportunity for uncertainty. Uncertainty creates no opportunities. The days of ‘business as usual’ are long gone. As Badagrians, we have had enough! We want clear direction and respect for the rule of law. We want unity and we want it now! It is only a matter of time before the mood aloof of love reaches boiling point. And when it reaches boiling point Mr Ambode, do not expect a high-pitched whistle because there will be no such thing. Wait for an explosion – an explosion of divisions, and in the worst of outcomes, violence!
Radical action is required to reform current behaviours, but we believe that you can make a difference in our communities. We believe you have the capacity and the power to transform Badagrian affairs. If only you would pay attention to Badagry! All we are saying, Mr Governor, is to give us unity.
As a politically neutral non-governmental organisation, we believe that it is our responsibility and duty to the Badagrian people to ensure their voice is heard by those who lead us. Our community spirit is fraying, but we are willing to rebuild its fabric. Badagrians want to hear your voice and they want to know you are listening. As a democrat acting without prejudice, acting with the obligation to serve your people and acting with the love of Badagry, we pray the Almighty God gives you the wisdom to deal with this matter accordingly.
As Badagrians, we vociferously challenge your administration to resolve the question of disunity in Badagry. Mr Governor: what will you do?
We hope to receive a favourable reply to our letter.
Yours Sincerely,
United Voice of Badagry People Initiative

A statement issued by the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, stated that this is the first time in about 15years that a sitting President will be visiting the State on a working visit and is a testimony to the landmark achievements in the last one year of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode as well as the good working relationship between Lagos State and the Federal Government.
Ayorinde added that President Buhari during the visit, would formally commission the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) Rescue Unit in Cappa Oshodi built by the State Government to ensure prompt and swift response to emergency situations in the State.
He said the President would thereafter commission the newly constructed Ago Palace Way in Okota, Isolo after which he will pay homage to the Oba of Lagos, His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Rilwanu Aremu Akiolu at the Iga Iduganran, Lagos Island.
The Commissioner disclosed further that the President would later in the day be hosted to a reception rally by the State Government at the Tafawa Balewa Square, (TBS) Lagos where he will also commission and hand over security equipment and vehicles contributed by the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode-led administration to securities agencies to beef up security in the state.
The release added that activities for the first day of the President’s visit would be rounded up with a State Banquet in his honour at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island.

The Commissioner quoted Governor Akinwunmi Ambode as being joyous over this landmark presidential visit to the State that contributed so much to his emergence as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He added that Lagosians are looking forward with excitement to receive the President in the State, just as he urged residents to bear with law enforcement agents and traffic control authorities who will effect road diversions in some of the routes that the President motorcade will pass through during the visit.
