Tinubu Was My 'boy', I Made Him; Ajomale Talking Rubbish - Chief Ayo Adebanjo Explodes

Tinubu Was My 'boy', I Made Him; Ajomale Talking Rubbish - Chief Ayo Adebanjo Explodes

ayo adebanjo and bola tinubu
Chief Ayo Adebanjo is no doubt a prominent statesman and one of the leading voices in the South West region has claimed the National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu was made what he is today by his efforts with God's help.

He, however, lambasted the All Progressives Congress, APC Chairman Lagos State, over the statement credited to him that he (Ayo Adebanjo) imposed former Lagos State deputy Governor, Buknor Akerele on Tinubu in 1999.

Chief Adebanjo in a recent interview with The Sun Newspaper, bore his mind on several issues of national interest. As a known clamourer of Nigeria restructuring, he said until the country is restructured, the country unity is under threat.

He further stated that anyone planning for 2019 election without restructuring Nigeria is wasting his time.

On how he made Tinubu, the Sun Newspaper quoted Chief Adebanjo to have said:

"Where was Ajomale when we were running the party? Nobody imposed anybody."
"Akerele was with us then in the NADECO. Tinubu was abroad. We were the people facing the fire at home. When they said I imposed Akerele, they should say I imposed Tinubu too."
"I do not know Ajomale all this time. Ajomale is a creation of Tinubu. And Tinubu is my own creation by the grace of God. I signed his papers. We conducted the primaries under which he became the governor. If I was partisan, Tinubu would not have been governor. But he won a primary election which we set up which was disputed by the chairman of Lagos AD."
On the emergence of Akere as Tinubu's Deputy, he said:
"When Tinubu won the primaries, he wanted another person and we said no. It was not a question of imposing, but rewarding people who worked for the party. By the time we elected Tinubu, where was Ajomale in those days? What position was he holding in any branch of the Alliance For Democracy (AD)? So, because he has become a stooge of Tinubu now, he can be talking nonsense. They should beware when they cast aspersion on their seniors. Tinubu would not even say what he said."

OLUSOLA OKE
The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), on Friday, rejected the candidature of Chief Olusola Oke for the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State.

The NEC, which held an emergency meeting in Akure, the state capital, condemned the withdrawal of the party’s candidate, Akin Olowookere, to pave the way for Oke’s candidature.

The meeting passed a vote of no confidence on the national chairman of the party, Chief Joseph Avazi; national secretary; Akin Fasogbon; national auditor, Ayodele Ismail and the West Zonal chairman, Chief Tayo Onayemi, for not following the due process before adopting Oke as the party’s candidate.

The NEC claimed that the national chairman and the three others unilaterally adopted Oke as the party’s candidate, contrary to the provision of the party’s constitution.

The committee said, “Oke’s adoption as a flag bearer on the platform of the AD is just known to Chief Avazi, the national chairman, in connivance with three others who constituted themselves as the NEC of the party.”

Speaking during the meeting, the Deputy National Chairman (North), Mallam Musa Loyi, alleged that the national chairman had not called NEC meeting since he was elected into the position in December 2015.

He also accused Avazi of denying the party the opportunity to take part in the just-concluded governorship election in Edo State by failing to endorse and submit to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the name of the candidate of the party, Ibrahim Garuba.

A communique issued at the end of the meeting, read by Ibrahim Abdullah and supported by all the 44 members in attendance, read: “This meeting condemns in its entirety, all actions of the four officers in the emergence of Chief Olusola Oke as the flagbearer of the party in Ondo State.

“The action in this case runs in total contradiction to the party’s constitution. They have no vested power to usurp the powers of the national executive of the party. Olusola Oke is hereby not adopted as the flagbearer of the party in the gubernatorial election of Ondo State, scheduled for November 26, 2016,

“The national chairman and the secretary must convene the NEC meeting in Abuja within 21 days with effect from 14 October, 2016.”

The meeting stated that failure to comply with its directive would lead to employing the constitution of the party in settling the impending crisis but said it was open to negotiation if the due process was fulfilled.

Reacting to the development, the media aide to Chief Oke, Rotimi Ogunleye, said there was no official reaction to all the allegations. He said the party’s executive in the state should be in the best position to react to the allegations.

Oke defected to AD after losing the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) in the September 3 primary of the party.

APC Crisis: Tinubu In Secret Talks With Yoruba Leaders To Rejig AD As Buhari 'Queues Behind Oyegun

APC Crisis: Tinubu In Secret Talks With Yoruba Leaders To Rejig AD As Buhari 'Queues Behind Oyegun

Tinubu returns to alliance for democracy ad
The embattled national leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Armed Tinubu may have retraced his step and return to the Alliance for Democracy, AD, a former party that he was made the governor of Lagos State 18 years ago

Report monitored via Daily Sun Newspaper suggests that, the moribund Alliance for Democracy (AD) may be the political haven for associates of embattled National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2019 general elections

It was gathered that that except President Muhammadu Buhari and well-meaning stakeholders in the ruling party take concrete and genuine steps to placate the former Lagos State governor, his allies may ditch the party for the AD.

A party source revealed that Tinubu’s camp may have opened discussions with stakeholders of the platform that brought him to power in 1999.

The party source noted that the forthcoming Ondo State governorship election would be used to test the waters.

The rejection of the  recommendations of the three-member Election Appeal Committee chaired by Mrs. Helen Bendega, which called for cancellation of the poll that produced Chief Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), and the submission of his name to INEC by the National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun was the cause of the cold war betweenTinubu and the latter.

Tinubu, while demanding for the resignation of Odigie-Oyegun, accused the former Edo State governor of treating with disdain the joint petition written by Chiefs Oke, Olusegun Abraham and Senator Ajayi Borrofice rejecting the outcome of the primary that produced Akeredolu.

While the national leader backed Abraham for the ticket, forces in the Presidency supported Akeredolu, who was president of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA).

Daily Sun gathered that Tinubu’s associates were taken aback that while President Buhari invited the National Chairman of the party to the Presidential Villa on Tuesday, he has not made any move to open discussion with Tinubu.

It also learnt that the APC leader’s allies may have initiated a deal aimed at reconciling with certain aggrieved leaders of the Yoruba socio-cultural group,  Afenifere, who were ditched during the power game to insulate the AD from  the  Afenifere.

In the vanguard of those who insisted that  Afenifere and AD should not be mutually inclusive were Tinubu, Chief Olusegun Osoba, the late Lam Adesina, Chief Bisi Akande, former governors of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo and Osun states respectively. While the late Ondo State governor, Adebayo Adefarati backed the leadership of  Afenifere, the former Ekiti State governor, Niyi Adebayo sat on the fence.

Among those who fell out with Tinubu and other AD governors  in league with him, were the Afenifere leader, Chief Abraham Adesanya (now late), Chief Ayo Adebanjo, Olaniwun Ajayi and Reuben Fasoranti. The struggle to separate  Afenifere from the control of the political party also culminated in the polarisation of the Yoruba group into two factions with Chief Fasanmi and Fasoranti as factional chairmen.

Speaking with Daily Sun on phone, Tinubu’s media aide, Tunde Rahman, however, refused to comment. He said: “Who are those making the insinuations? Let them justify what they are saying. I don’t want to react to that!”

But in his reaction, a member of the  Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, neither denied nor confirmed the reconciliation moves. He told Daily Sun that there was urgent need for the Yoruba to speak with one voice, noting noted that it was the desire of Afenifere as a group.

“I am not yet in the picture; what we know is that we are for peace and unity in Yorubalnd. The details of such talks,  I can’t tell you, but Afenifere’s desire is for strong realignment in Yorubaland”.

BOMBSHELL: Ondo APC Crisis: Tinubu ORDERED Us To Rejoin Alliance For Democracy, AD – Bola Ilori, Watch Video

BOMBSHELL: Ondo APC Crisis: Tinubu ORDERED Us To Rejoin Alliance For Democracy, AD – Bola Ilori, Watch Video

Bola Tinubu
A former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Hon. Bola Ilori has said the National leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was the one who instructed them to join the Alliance for Democracy.

Ilori, who spoke on TVC political programme said ”I don’t know APC before; it was Asiwaju Tinubu that said we should move to APC and we did.

According to Ilori, Tinubu’s decision was taken following the way he was treated on the party’s governorship primary election which was upheld on September 3, by the national executive committee members, led by Chief John Oyegun.

It will be recalled that Tinubu had been reportedly supporting one of the aspirants, Mr. Segun Abraham to become the party’s candidate, ahead of the November 26, gubernatorial election in Ondo State.

But, his anointed aspirant came second with 635 votes, while Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, was declared winner with 669 votes.

Ilori, who is a stunched supporter of another aspirant, Chief Olusola Oke was said to have raised alarm over alleged padding of the delegates’ list.

But their action failed as the APC NWC threw out the report of the Appeal panel on the ground that the committee did a shady job.

However, Oke has defected to AD and is expected to fly the flag of the party in the coming poll.

“He has said AD is the option now; even If he said AA we won’t look back before we move to the party.

“All they are doing in the National headquarters of the party is Anti-Tinubu policies; not in Ondo alone but also in Kogi, Edo, Ogun and other parts of the country.

“Let Oyegun resign first and the problem of the party will be drastically reduced.

“Some people said it is because I want to be deputy governor at all cost. No! No! that is not true, we are fighting for what is not right.

“The younger generation of the party is bitter with what is happening in the party, we don’t have option than to move out.

“Some people are using president Buhari’s name to do the evil but I don’t know why the President kept silent.

“Someone who keeps silent in a situation like this, it is either the person is a coward or confused.”
