APC Now A 'Curse' To Nigerians, A Promise Breaker Under Oyegun - Tinubu Blasts Over Ondo Primary

“Evidently, some errant members believe that promises and vows are mere words to be easily spoken and more easily broken. Chairman John (Odigie-) Oyegun has breached these good pledges in a most overt and brazen display.
“In doing so, (Odigie-) Oyegun has dealt a heavy blow to the very party he professes to lead. It is an awful parent who suffocates his own child for the sake of a few naira.
“The party was supposed to buttress the APC members elected to government at all levels. Because of (Odigie-) Oyegun’s conduct of our affairs, the party is rapidly becoming an albatross to those it is meant to help.”
Tinubu
This is an extract from a just released press statement credited to the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while venting his anger on the conduct of the national Chairman of the Party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun over the recently conducted party primary in Ondo State, describing the party as a 'curse' (albatross)  to Nigerians.

Wikipedia defines albatross, metaphorically as a "psychological burden that feels like a curse". So, Tinubu likened APC under the chairmanship of Oyegun as a curse,  not just the party members alone, but also to all Nigerians.

Tinubu's statement, demanding the removal of Oyegun, over what he called the latter’s anti-democratic handling of the  party affairs, in a scathing statement entitled, “Oyegun’s Ondo fraud: The violation of democracy in the APC,” released by the Tinubu Media Office on Sunday.

The party leader said the APC’s democratic credentials had been dealt a big blow by Odigie-Oyegun’s conduct, especially with his handling of the outcome of the Ondo State governorship primary.

He said the APC was a party borne out of the quest for democratic good governance, arguing that the ideology was currently under a critical threat by those who managed to be in the party but were never part of it.

According to him, from the party’s inception, the principles of democratic fairness and justice are to guide the APC’s internal deliberations.

He stressed that the party’s founders realised that it was only by fair dealing that the party could remain faithful to the progressive ideals that were presented to the Nigerian electorate as governing creed.

“If the party can not justly govern itself, it will find it difficult to establish and maintain just government throughout the nation,” he said.

The APC leader stressed that before now, the party was the embodiment of a democratic promise made between its members as well as a democratic vow made to the public.

Tinubu said, “Evidently, some errant members believe that promises and vows are mere words to be easily spoken and more easily broken.

On the just concluded Ondo State governorship primaries, Tinubu said, “(Odigie-) Oyegun’s comportment regarding the Ondo State primary will become the textbook definition of political treachery and malfeasance of the basest order.

“In early September, the (Ondo) State primary was held. A purported winner was named. Having faith in the ways of the party, Tinubu publicly accepted what he assumed to be a verdict honestly derived.

“As a democrat, one must face the possibility of defeat and accept such an outcome with as much grace as one would embrace victory.”

The APC leader said one of the few bright spots during the conduct of the primary was the Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar, whom he said chaired the primary convention with decorum and impartiality. He noted that he (Abubakar) was unaware that a tampered list had been slipped into the process.

Tinubu added, “Indeed within hours of the announcement, news began to filter in that gravely disturbed me. Credible allegations of fraud troubled the waters.

“The delegate list had been materially altered by someone in a strategic position to do so. The names of over 150 valid delegates were excised to make room for an equal number of impostors.

“This was not a clerical error. The alteration was wilfully executed that the primary would be directed toward a chosen end that bore nothing in common with the will of most state party members. A cunning few had tried to deceive many into believing they were outnumbered.”

The APC national leader narrated details of what transpired behind closed doors during the NWC meeting, held to deliberate on the report of the appeal panel saddled with the responsibility of handling the appeals.

Tinubu accused Odigie-Oyegun of upturning the decision of the majority who voted in favour of the cancellation of the primary and the conduct of a fresh one.

Tinubu stated, “He has shown that he and democratic fairplay cannot exist in the same party at the same time.

“If Tinubu is to choose between John (Odigie-) Oyegun and progress toward a better Nigeria, the choice has already been made. For those who care about the party, who care about Nigeria and its chance for a better tomorrow, now is the time to stand against this brewing evil before it grows to encompass all we have built and all we hold dear.”

A New Horizon Beckons Sooner - Tinubu Predicts, Suggest Solutions To Economic Recession In Eid-el-Kabir Message To Nigerians

Bola tinubu
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) National leader has predicted that the country would overcome the economic downturn “which is not our making”

In an Eid-el-Kabir message from his Media office, the former Lagos State governor, said: “During this Season of Eid-el-Kabir, I wish to felicitate with the Muslim brotherhood. We must give thanks to almighty Allah for keeping us alive to celebrate this Eid.

“This spirit of sacrifice and unselfish giving that defines this celebration must guide us all in the way we relate to others and in our quest for a better society. Through sacrifice and a heart and hand of charity we can lift up many who will in turn become better tools for the socio-economic rejenevation we so desire.

“We must see our current economic situation as a passing phase. We shall overcome. Our faith summons us to have faith but also to work so that things can get better.

“This economic predicament is not of our making or choosing. It came not by invitation. The economic downturn represents a tough challenge not lightly overcome. No one wished that such an impediment would confront us. Now, we must rise to the occasion. Our economic situation presents an opportunity for us to do something we have avoided too long.

“The present circumstance demands that we engage in a discourse concerning the type of “post-oil era” economy we truly want and what are the ideological underpinnings and policy thrusts needed to erect this new architecture.

“This architecture must be inward looking and homegrown starting with the boosting of the agricultural economy leading to a diversification we have all longed for. As the government re-tools and refines different policies, we as citizens must locate our role and responsibility and join hands with this government until the clouds of recession recedes.

A new horizon beckons for Nigeria sooner rather than later as we pass through a necessary phase often experienced in the life of virtually all nations.

“Nigerians deserve a better country, more empowerment, job opportunities and an overall strong economy. The current government is committed to achieving this.”

Akeredolu's Victory In Ondo: Tinubu, Aregbesola Take Decisive Action

Ondo Election: Tinubu, Aregbesola Meet Behind Colsed-door Over Akeredolu
The national leader of the ruling All progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his die-hard loyalist, the Governor of State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola may have recently met behind-closed-door to fashion out a way forward following following the shocking defeat of his anointed candidate, Dr. Olusegun Abraham in the just-concluded primary elections in Ondo state, report according to Information Nigeria suggests.

This comes after supporters loyal to Tinubu accused Aregbesola of being responsible for the loss experienced by their Leader’s candidate at the Ondo APC primaries.

Recall that Rotimi Akeredolu, a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, won the Ondo APC primary elections by defeating Tinubu’s candidate, Olusegun Abraham by a slim margin.

Since the incident, the Ondo APC has been witnessing serious crisis as a result of the primary election as one of the contestants in the Primary election, Chief Olusola Oke has faulted the result of the election.

But, in a surprise twist, Tinubu has called for peace as he asked aggrieved party members to sheathe their swords and support Akeredolu.

The former Lagos governor, who was embroiled in an imposition saga as the Ondo primary election gathered momentum embraced the party’s emerging flagbearer, Rotimi Akeredolu despite the uninspiring utterances by the winner directed at him during the build-up to the intra-party election.

“In Ondo we must close ranks to achieve victory. The future of the state and of the party in the state should never be held ransom to insignificant personal animosities and perceived slights,” he said in a statement.

This report is unconfirmed as where and when the duo of Tinubu and Aregbesola met, our source could not disclose.

Details later if confirmed

Tinubu Is Our Revered Leader, I Need His Blessing - Akereodolu Recants, Denies He Would Shock Tinubu's Report
Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, the Ondo State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate has described Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the party’s respected leader, who he is waiting for his blessing.

Popularly known as Aketi, Akeredolu has denied media reports that he said Tinubu would be shocked on the outcome of the result of the primary held at the weekend.

Enthused by the victory, the APC candidate who spoke with reporters after he was announced winner of the primary said he was surprised to read such report credited to him, saying going through the content of the report, there was no where he used such word.

The former President of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) said he respects Tinubu as the party’s leader and he is always waiting for his blessing on whoever emerges as the APC candidate.

He said: “I never said so. If you read that interview, you will never see where I used such word.

“Tinubu is the leader of the party and I have respect for him.

“He was here in Ondo State during the last governorship election and which I contested as the candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

“He spent his money and his time and I am sure this time around, he will also be here to support me.

“I always believe that he is somebody that I am waiting to see his blessing on who will emerge from free and fair primary and God has endorsed me.”

The candidate was, however, confident that the party would go into the poll as a united family.

Ondo Guber: You're An INGRATE, Akeredolu Attacked For Insulting Tinubu

Chief Rotimi Akeredolu
A group, Ondo Collectives for Change has berated one of the governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming governorship election in the state, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) for claiming that the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu did not support him during the 2012 governorship election in the state.

The group which is also the campaign organization of an APC governorship aspirant in Ondo State, Mr Segun Abraham, expressed resentment at the comment credited to Akeredolu, the then candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria(ACN) in the highly pulsating governorship election, said his statement has further confirmed that Akeredolu can’t be entrusted with the party’s ticket.

Akeredolu allegedly made the comments while appearing as guest on a programme tagged: ‘Guest of the week’ on an Akure based station, Positive 102.5 FM on Thursday.

He was quoted to have said: “We can say it here, so it is not new today that Bola Ahmed Tinubu says he want to support Abraham, he argued for him in 2012, but God chose me in 2012. So if he is now supporting him today, that is a repetition and God will still choose me this time.”

A statement issued by the spokesman of the group, Kola Ademujimi said: “The whole world could attest to the fact that that(2012) election was a battle between Governor Mimiko and Asiwaju Tinubu. There was no statement credited to Mimiko and his campaign team where Akeredolu was condemned, because they knew him as a political featherweight and neophyte.

He said: “All their arsenals were directed at Tinubu and the only campaign slogan reverberating on the lips of Mimiko was that Akeredolu was about to be imposed on Ondo people by the former Lagos governor, so that they can loot the state and make Ondo an extension of Lagos political empire.

“Another imperative question to ask the Senior Advocate(Akeredolu) is that, what was his  political antecedent for the likes of political heavyweights like Senator Ajayi Boroffice, Segun Abraham and many others to have stepped down for him at the primary? This was made possible because of Tinubu’s persuasion and the entire world knew except an ingrate like Akeredolu.

Ademujimi added: “I know that this comment will go a long way in shaping the minds of the 3,000 APC delegates that will participate in the Wednesday primary about the personality of Akeredolu and his ilk, who threw jibes and tirades at their benefactors just because political scheming of the moment is not in their favour.

“I wonder if Akeredolu, who woefully lost in his unit in Owo during the election could have won up to ten wards instead of the three local governments he won, if those, who sacrificed their ambitions for him to emerge the ACN candidate had taken this perilous path he is treading. I want to advise Akeredolu to rely on names -calling to whip up sentiments to get the supports of the delegates, because this strategy will fail as delegates will reject him based on his unstable character as manifested in his behaviour and open confrontation with party leaders.”

Meanwhile, Akeredolu, who is a former president of the Nigeria Bar Association, has clarified his statement on alleged endorsement of candidates by some leaders of the party ahead of the party governorship primary scheduled for Saturday September 3.

In a statement issued by Akeredolu Campaign Platform,  the governorship aspirant stated: ” My attention has been drawn to some stories making the rounds especially on the social media linking me with some ridiculous comments and incendiary quotes on the purported endorsement of candidates in the governorship primary. Those who know my antecedents will attest to the fact that I am a  man of courage. For the avoidance of doubt, I didn’t insult any of our national leaders in APC, especially Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as quoted mischievously in the social media…. “

The statement reads further: ” Like I have said in my earlier statement, all our leaders have assured us a free and fair primary.  What is happening in Ondo state right now is that some leaders  are using the name of Asiwaju Tinubu to cause confusion; claiming that he had given them money to work for a particular aspirant.  Anybody doing such cannot be described as a leader.  Asiwaju Tinubu’s last communication on Ondo State Governorship primary was that there will be free and fair primary. “

Tinubu Never Believed In Buhari’s Candidacy - Close-Ally, Personal Lawyer Reveals

Tinubu Never Believed In Buhari’s Candidacy - Close-Ally, Personal Lawyer Reveals
Sahara Reporters - A democracy rights activist and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Ondo State, Dr. Tunji Abayomi, has described APC "National Leader," Bola Tinubu, as a man who frustrates the democratic aspirations of Nigerians through his dictatorial tendencies.

Abayomi, who admitted he has great admiration  for Tinubu’s contributions to the return of civil rule and his political sagacity, dropped the bombshell in a letter to the APC chieftain titled “The Tonic Of Democracy Is The Right Of The People To Choose Their Leaders,” the letter traced the history of the duo through the days of struggle for democracy under the military to the return of self-rule and Abayomi’s decision to join the Alliance for Democracy (AD), the political platform under which Tinubu became the governor of Lagos state in 1999.

The lawyer said there are hints that Tinubu is about imposing a candidate on the APC branch of the party in Ondo state before its August 27 primaries and warned him to stop his bid to tamper with the will of the party.

According to Abayomi, some APC leaders met with Tinubu on July  31 at a meeting, he alleged, was held to ensure that the primaries will be a procession for Tinubu’s candidate rather than a free and fair contest among aspirants.

“We share the struggle for democracy which conjured regard for the independent right of our people to vote and to make leaders for themselves. So close it seems, is the relationship that as you told me you were once approached by yet another old friend, President Olusegun Obasanjo, to convince me to work for him. Then and for a long time, at least up to 2004, when I decided to join the AD, I opted to be a go-between the poor masses; poor because they were in truth betrayed by leadership and the powerful few that control the apparatus of power in our land,” Abayomi wrote.

The lawyer added that despite Tinubu’s lack of conviction in the candidature of General Muhammadu Buhari for the presidency, he accommodated his view that Buhari was the man capable of winning last year’s presidential election. Tinubu’s decision on Buhari, notwithstanding, Abayomi said the former Lagos State governor has a major failing, which has become recurrent in his politics: a disdain for popular will.

“There are, however, certain principles that I believe form elements of democratic government, which I think you often violate. Considering that you fought for democracy, I wonder why it has become normative,” wrote the lawyer.

Abayomi instantiated his allegation with his experience in 2007 when he made a bid to be governor of Ondo State, an attempt snuffed out by Tinubu’s alleged imposition of his friend, Rotimi Akeredolu on the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

“You invited me, I think, the only aspirant for the purpose, to appeal for my support and understanding for your decision. The first question I asked then was: Who were the leaders who chose a candidate for our people without the input or the breadth of even the deaf and dumb of Ondo State?” he wrote.

Abayomi explained that he found Tinubu’s response to his question unconvincing and made it clear to him that it was a violation of the right of the people of Ondo State.

He explained that he had to stand against the Akeredolu’s emergence because he believed the procedure adopted was a violation of the people’s right to constitute government over themselves by their votes.

The people, he added, have been excluded since independence in 1960 from the decision to elect their rulers, a development that has predisposed them to desperate want.

“Now, our people have no houses in Victoria Island or Maitama, no land in Dubai or Johannesburg, no private jets or jetty. They don’t even have the money to sink boreholes to get little water or to buy good food. They have no passable road from home to farm or from farm to home. Their children have no worthwhile access to basic education or well-being,” he stated.

He warned Tinubu that the people could one day rise against the abridgement of their democratic right to choose leaders that will create possibilities and better their lot instead of the malicious governance they have experienced.

“But if we thought, we can win for them the right to vote, and through their votes, to raise good government and bring down bad government, then, they can change their misfortune under leadership, that, in our land, has often been corrupt and pitiless, to evolving hope, substitute their despair for possibility and long unrealizable desires for reality,” he declared.

He expressed concern about the entrenchment of oligarchic tendencies that have appropriated the people’s right and their wealth. The oligarchs, of which he hinted Tinubu is a member, are minded to buy off what is left of the people’s assets, voting right, with money stolen from the people.

“When we see for example, what is going on in the National Assembly among the constituency of political leaders that make up the Assembly, we see how unfortunate our people truly are. A Senator is alleged to make over N29,479,749 per month as against N18, 000 made by the common man he represents. Thus it will take not less than 1,638 years of hard work for the common man’s labour to acquire the annual worth of a senator. In one case that came to my attention a governor spent N1billion for the first year anniversary while a woman he governs over begged helplessly for N200 to buy ‘pure water’ for her daughter to go to school the next morning,” Abayomi added.

THE OPEN LETTER:

Dear Asiwaju Tinubu,

THE TONIC OF DEMOCRACY IS THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO CHOOSE THEIR LEADERS

The ignorant may not actually know our relationship. We share the struggle for democracy which conjured regard for the independent right of our people to vote and to make leaders over themselves. So close it seems, is the relationship that as you once told me you were once approached by yet another old friend President Olusegun Obasanjo to convince me to work for him. Then and for a long time, at least up to 2004, when I decided to join the Political Party AD, I opted to be a go-between the poor masses, poor because they were in truth betrayed by leadership and the powerful few that control the apparatus of power in our land.

I have never hidden my appreciation for your political intelligence, accommodation of a different opinion, a great attribute you demonstrated when you accepted my totally separated and independent view, that in the struggle for the Presidency of Nigeria in 2015, when it came to winability, there was no substitute for President Mohammed Buhari.

Now Asiwaji, friendship must of course be based on mutual respect. You have visited my original house in Okeagbe just as I have often visited your home in Lagos. In 2013 when my son got married, you stood by me. In the same manner on several occasions when men rose against your honour I raised a bastion to defend you. But my character is to stand on truth, offer sincere opinion to my friends unconcerned by the prestige of office or the character of personality. My understanding of friendship is to stand on something instead of falling for everything. And I believe in the many years past some have come to appreciate my preference for respect instead of love.

There is yet another product of conscience which your illustrious rich and exalted life has demonstrated - a non-conformist generosity that has lifted so many people up.

There are, however, certain principles which I believe form elements of democratic government which I think you often violate. Considering that you fought for democracy, I wonder why it has become a normative.

In 2007, I ran for Governor of Ondo State. You would recall that you invited me to your House in Bourdilon to break the news to me that certain leaders of the Party had picked a candidate for us in Ondo State.

You invited me, I think, the only Aspirant for the purpose to appeal for my support  and understanding for your decision. The first question i asked then was who were the leaders who chose a candidate for our people without the input or the breadth of even the deaf and dumb of Ondo State?

Unconvinced by the responses, firm and total in my commitment to the democratic rights of our people, I made it clear then, that I could not and will not support your decision as I considered it wrong in principle and violative of the rights of citizens and that of the people of Ondo State.

In taking my stand against the procedure of picking a friend to represent our Party in the 2012 electoral contest I stood on the principle that I believe will advantage the common citizen’s right, that is the right to constitute government over themselves by their votes.

The sinews of national development, politics and in particular economy, had excluded the common man in Nigeria since 1960. Tormented by the grave denials, wants and ultimate desperation, all of which are symptoms of uncaring poverty foisted on our people by poor leadership, people like us, children of the “MEKUNNU” decided to fight for a most fundamental right, that is, the right of the common man to vote for the construction of leadership.

Now, our people have no houses in Victoria Island or Maitama, no land in Dubai or Johannesburg, no private jets or jetty. They don’t even have the money to sink boreholes to get mere water or to buy good food. They have no passable road from home to farm or from farm to home. Their children have no worthwhile access to basic education or well-being. But if, we thought, we can win for them the right to vote, and through their votes, to raise good government and bring down bad government, then, they can change their misfortune under leadership, that, in our land, has often been corrupt and pitiless, to evolving hope, substitute their despair for possibility and long unrealizable desires for reality. The strength of our abnormal determination to win democracy against the terror of military rule, a determination that led us to multiple jail terms, was actually defined by this organic vision. You were, to some extent, part of that struggle to win for the people their right to vote, to make and create leadership. It was certainly our hope then and now that this right will neither be adulterated nor polluted by abuse of influence or money by leadership. Since 1960 the present Federal Government that you clearly helped to bring about makes the very first time, the votes of our people would effectively count in raising government.

I am greatly disturbed that the political oligarchy in charge of power in our Nation, having taken every wealth of the people for themselves and their offsprings appear determined to buy, with the people’s money already embezzled by them, the only valuable political asset the people have - their voting right.

When we see for example, what is going on in the National Assembly among the constituency of political leaders that make up the Assembly we see how unfortunate our people truly are. A Senator is alleged to make over N29,479,749 per month as against N18000 made by the common man he represents. Thus it will take not less than 1,638 years of hard work for the common man’s labour to acquire the annual worth of a Senator. In once case that came to my attention a Governor spent N1,000,000,000 for the first year anniversary while a woman he governs over begged helplessly for N200 to buy “pure water” for her daughter to go to school the next morning. In spite of these abnormal indifferences, corruption prevails over the land among political leaders to the helpless and hopeless desire of the common man.

As a prominent leader in the past in the struggle for the undiluted and unpolluted right of the people to vote, I had hoped you will ALWAYS allow the due process of voting to control political struggles. Indeed this was the essence of our 3 hour dialogue and disagreement when you and perhaps others placed over the people of Ondo State a candidate that was not chosen by us or for us through our votes in the Governorship Election.

With regard to the present struggle or contest for governorship in Ondo State, whether some of our party leaders came to you to choose for them as some have alleged or you invited our leaders on 31.7.2016 as some have averred, what we expect a democrat to do was to respect the right of the people to choose their leaders through and unduly influenced free and fair primary electoral process. My deepest disagreement with you, which has arisen on many occasions in the past years, inspite of much respect for your contributions to National development, have grown from my perception that in your high station, you are doing too little to honour the end of our struggle for democracy, which, as I see it, hangs on that cardinal right of the ordinary people to vote or be voted for or the need to ensure that government of the people, by the people and for the people, instead for the leaders and actually prevail and triumph in our land.

When votes don’t make decisions in a democracy the masses become victims of their leaders who take advantage of their poverty and despair to exercise illimitable and unlimited power over public wealth. You can see this in the tragedy of wealth and poverty under the last Federal Government. For me, out of stubborn effort in struggle, I became what I am so that I can speak my mind even to my friends. I became what I am so that I can speak my mind even to my friends. As I verily believe that without dutiful regard and respect for the right of our people to make government, change that enhances hope will NEVER triumph in Nigeria.

You have sacrificed much for democracy, committed much of your time, energy, wealth, will and worth to it. You can only be truly honoured when you respect and raise her ideals one of which is the right of our people to choose their leaders. You can only be truly honoured when you respect and raise her ideals one of which is the right of our people to choose their leaders. You can only be diminished when you wrong democratic ideals and due expectations.

I desire, as a friend, that you retrieve or at least reduce your tendency to dictate the end of democratic struggles which is what I see in the diction to the people of Ondo State of a particular candidate before the August 27, 2016 All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Election Primary.

Please kindly do accept assurances of my highest regards.

Yours truly,
OLATUNJI O. ABAYOMI (DR)

Ondo Governorship: 24 Aspirants Kick As Tinubu 'Anoints' Abraham

Ondo Governorship: 24 Aspirants Kick As Tinubu 'Anoints' Abraham
Ahead of the August 27 primaries of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ondo state, 24 of the 25 aspirants yesterday kicked against a surreptitious plan by the party’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to impose Dr. Segun Abraham on the party.

Speaking on behalf of the aspirants, Dr Tunji Abayomi blamed the planned imposition on Tinubu, who they said was head bent to install Abraham. The 25 aspirants who had paid N7.5 million as nomination fees have begun screening race for the party’s primary fixed for August 27 at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja.

Although the party had denied the alleged imposition, Abayomi insisted that the planned imposition had been uncovered, saying such imposition by Tinubu was wrong as it would disrupt the normal democratic process of electing candidate for the party for the November 26 governorship election.

Abayomi, who painted graphic picture on how Tinubu allegedly summoned party leaders in the state to Lagos and directed them to work for Abraham and his emergence, said they would resist the National Leader’s plan as it was not acceptable to the majority of the aspirants.

Besides, he said they were ready to ensure that Tinubu’s planned imposition fail notwithstanding his alleged promise to spend huge sum of money for the leaders to ensure Abraham triumph at the party’s primary especially because the action was against the party’s constitution of the party.

Abayomi said: “I am speaking on behalf of the majority of the aspirants, we want to know whether this is true, and considering that we have a constitution that determines the procedure of electing a candidate.

“We are from Ondo State and we expect that our affairs should be largely controlled either by law or the people of Ondo State. So, we reject the government of leaders by the leaders to the privileged set of leaders. If Tinubu had now directed that this is the person he wants to use, that means that he is the one constituting government over the people to his own benefit.”

At Last, Tinubu Opens Up Over Reported Rift With Buhari

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, afFormer governor of Lagos state, has debunked reports that he publicly condemned the policies and performance of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Tinubu, in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Sunday Dare, stated that he had no rift with the President.

Dare revealed that over the weekend, he received emails and text messages from over 80 people.

“They were angry that some people would just manipulate and fabricate stories and go ahead to publish lies and absolute nonsense.

“All I could do was to calm them down. In the social media age, any knucklehead can publish or turn fact on its head.
