SHOCKER: Buhari Moves To Drop Osinbajo As VP, Pencils 2 Former S'East Govs As Replacement To Pacify Biafra Agitators

Muhammadu Buhari
ThePoint - With the economy floundering and in dire need of attention from the Presidency, investigations by The Point have revealed that the President Muhammadu Buhari camp may be busy with the power game building up ahead of 2019.

The latest in the series of actions being lined up by the Presidency as part of the grand plan to stand up to the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his co-highly dependable source, who pleaded anonymity, said. He revealed that there were pockets of camps within the Presidency, one of which reportedly argued that “since Osinbajo is not only a Yoruba man from the South West, but a core Tinubu apostle, his loyalty to Tinubu, either in or out of APC, remains sacrosanct.”

Tinubu was said to have single handedly nominated Osinbajo for the position of Vice President in 2015. Another pressure group is said to be headed by the President’s cousin, who is also the Director General of the Department of State Sets up think-tank to polarise VP, Tinubu ‘Plan to pacify Igbo’ travellers in their alleged effort to seize power from the Buhari administration, is the move to woo a former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, as a possible replacement for Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo in the next general elections.

Dependable sources close to the seat of power told The Point that the Buhari camp, sensing a potential loss of support and electoral votes from the South West, in the event of the Tinubu forces pulling out, is tinkering with options to win over the South East and perhaps South South blocs. “With many gladiators, who joined forces to see APC through to victory during the last elections already fingered in the movement to form a new mega party, there is intense calculation being done to get a crowd-puller from the South East geo-political zone. This is to garner substantial votes from the region to shore up what may be lost should the South West go with Tinubu,” one of the sources revealed. The source, who is considered a force to reckon with in the current political environment, also said that the latest move suggested that the political romance between President Buhari and his Vice, Osinbajo, might be heading for the rocks.

Although, President Buhari has not come out openly to declare his intention to stay in power beyond 2019, his body language, analysts said, seemed to point in that direction, “as a lot of pressure groups want him to continue doing the good work he has started, especially in the fight against corruption.”

“The choice of Kalu is part of the current political strategies that will put President Buhari in a vantage position, especially now that Tinubu appears not to be in the same ship with him,” another highly dependable source, who pleaded anonymity, said. He revealed that there were pockets of camps within the Presidency, one of which reportedly argued that “since Osinbajo is not only a Yoruba man from the South West, but a core Tinubu apostle, his loyalty to Tinubu, either in or out of APC, remains sacrosanct.” Tinubu was said to have singlehandedly nominated Osinbajo for the position of Vice President in 2015.

Another pressure group is said to be headed by the President’s cousin, who is also the DirectorGeneral of the Department of State Security Services, Mamman Daura, who reportedly declared that the choice of a vice presidential candidate would be more desirable, if he came from the SouthEast geo-political zone.

And while a lot of stakeholders and commentators, who spoke with The Point on the new plot have yet to come to terms with Presidency’s choice of Kalu, a team of thought-leaders and power-brokers, drawn from the South East and South South, have been constituted and have begun work on actualising the Kalu Vice Presidency project.

Indeed, a prominent leader of the South South, who was close to the last administration of President Goodluck Jonathan and a respected former governor from the South East region, are key members of the team, which has also been saddled with planning and holding broad-based consultations across the two geo-political zones with a view to winning massive support for Kalu’s candidacy.

In its last two editions, The Point had reported authoritatively, that there were fresh facts linking former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Tinubu, former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, former governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and other bigwigs to a major political realignment that would birth a new mega party to wrest power from the Buhari-led administration come 2019.

It also reported that the Presidency had began orchestrating a broad plan to cut Tinubu to size, what with his alleged involvement as a central figure in the formation of the new mega-party.

And in the aftermath, over the last 20 days, there have been a number of developments in the polity confirming The Point’s reportage of happenings in the political space, the most recent being the criticisms, during the week, of the Buhari-led government by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The Point gathered that the  lastest move to puncture Tinubu’s perceived stronghold was to ensure that Tinubu’s group did not have any edge over the ruling political party in 2019.

Recall that Orji Kalu decamped to the ruling APC on Wednesday, November 16. “Kalu is said to have the money, the political sagacity and the charisma, and his choice as the Vice President would mean that APC or any other political party for that matter that would have the incumbent as its presidential candidate, would garner much support and votes,” our source added.

Another source, who also pleaded anonymity, told The Point, “Kalu is not even a rookie. He is grounded in the type of politics we play in this part of the world. He knows how to play the power game. Mind you, the last time a vice presidential candidate was picked from the South East, in the person of Dr. Alex Ekwueme, was between 1979 and 1983, when Shehu Shagari, was the President. “The idea now is that the Igbos, who have been shouting marginalisation, would once again be pacified by the gesture.”

But a former governor of old Anambra State and former Minister of Sports, Jim Nwobodo, said such moves would bring no positive result.

“How will such happen? I don’t want to comment on the development. But I have my strong reasons for saying it will not fly,” he said.

One of The Point’s reliable sources further revealed that a political think-tank within the Presidency, which was lately constituted with a view to exploring different ways of garnering votes from the South-Eastern part of the country, had commenced work in earnest.

Part of the brief of the think-tank is to fashion out a way to further polarise the knit relationship between Osinbajo and Tinubu.

Recall that President Buhari’s biographer, Prof. John Paden, had written in his book, ‘Muhammadu Buhari: The Challenge of Leadership,’ that Tinubu was not the person who nominated Osinbajo, after all, for the vice presidency.

But The Point gathered that amidst all the political permutations, “Osinbajo keeps mute and indifferent, perhaps trying to avoid being labelled a traitor. In all his doings, he has been able to measure his utterances.”

Meanwhile, as the underground political shenanigan within the Presidency rages, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), was recently told to liaise with the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, in ensuring that all contractors handling some federal projects, especially road projects, across the country were promptly paid.

The idea behind this directive, according to an impeccable source, “is to allow for total grassroots participation in the 2019 Buhari Project.”

“Beyond this, some core elders in both the South South and South East, respectively, are being consulted by the Aso Rock political think-tank, preparatory to 2019, which some people think is still quite far,” he added.

For now, a lot of political jobbers have been reportedly planted within the inner circles of the Aso Rock Villa to act as the ear of the President.

“Almost all of them report directly to Daura, who is a loyal cousin of Mr. President and one of the powers behind the throne,” the source pointed out.

However, many stakeholders in the Nigerian Project, who spoke with The Point, disagreed with the possibility of the Kalu plan working out.

They hinged their disagreement on Kalu’s antecedent and the many allegations of corrupt practices hanging around his neck.

A major stakeholder in the South-East, who pleaded anonymity, told The Point that if the Buhari camp was serious about winning over the South-East come 2019, the immediate past governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, would have been a better option.

He said, “Orji Uzor Kalu for Vice President? That is not possible. If the Buhari camp wants to win the South-East, Obi is a better option. Kalu is a rather bigger liability to the APC than an asset. “So, if Buhari is serious about courting the South-East and winning the zone over, Kalu is not the choice. He is not as popular in the South-East as he is making people to believe and would add no political value to the Buhari 2019 Project.”

Reacting to the development, the senator representing Ondo North in the upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Robert Ajayi Boroffice, expressed surprise at such a move.

He said it would surely have ripple effects on the polity, adding, “In politics, everything goes. If this is true, then I see it as one of the ploys to shut out the South West geo-political zone and that will have far reaching effects on the polity. But it is difficult to believe that such a move will be contemplated.”

On his part, a top politician from Ikorodu, Lagos, Basorun Olorunfemi, said, “That move is not possible. How can Buhari, who is an anti-corruption crusader, root for someone like that? “Apart from that, Kalu just joined APC and I don’t think the party will root for such candidate with Buhari. What credential is he bringing to the table?”

However, a staunch Buharist, who had been a member of his team since the Congress for Progressive Change days, said nobody ever thought President Buhari could align with Tinubu in the build-up to 2015.

“Didn’t Tinubu also have similar situations of past corruption on his neck? But the alignment with him brought us where we are now. So, anything is possible in the power game,” he argued.

Meanwhile, a special adviser to Orji Kalu, Mr. Kunle Oyewumi, in a reaction, said there was no such plan to prepare his principal as possible replacement for Vice President Osinbajo.

He said, “For now, Kalu is not looking forward to replacing the VP. He did not join the APC because of any ambition. He did because of pressure from friends and political associates, with an overarching objective to drive development in the region.”

Oyewumi added that besides, Kalu is a close friend to President Buhari and Tinubu, and as such, will rather be an agent of reconciliation than pitch tent with anyone.

APC BROKE Over Crisis; Power Disconnected As Buhari, Ministers Owe Dues, Saraki Too; Tinubu Loyalists Vow Not To Pay
The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC is said to be broke and insolvent, report according to ThisDay Newspaper suggests.

According to ThisDay, the APC insolvency has led the headquarters of the party electrical power source recently disconnected from the power grid over non-payment of its electricity bill to the Abuja Disco.

A reliable source at the APC’s national secretariat, who spoke to journalists yesterday, blamed the poor state of the ruling party’s finances on the non-payment of monthly dues by all cadre of political appointees on its platform, including Buhari.

He explained that based on the decision reached at the meeting of the party’s national leadership, it was agreed that APC members in the National Assembly were to pay N100,000 (senators) and N70,000 for the House of Representative members.

Although the party source failed to disclose the amount expected from Buhari and his deputy, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, he said most APC political office holders within this category had not been forthcoming with their contributions due to the internal crisis in the party.

He said the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and House Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, had also stopped the mandatory monthly payments since the party got engulfed in a crisis.

Similarly, the source said all political appointees of the party, including Buhari, who is also the leader of the party, had not paid their dues since they took office, contrary to the party’s constitution.

Sources also revealed that some APC governors, appointees of the president and many members of the National Assembly loyal to a prominent leader of the party, have vowed not to contribute a dime to fund the party until “there is a change in the party’s leadership”.

However, a top member of the party confirmed to THISDAY that only the Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing, Mustapha Baba Shauri, from Borno State has been able to pay N500,000.

Also, a few lawmakers were said to have paid for only three months since they were elected into office.

The source said: “It is only one minister that has paid part of his dues. From the records, it is the Minister of State for Works. However, based on the charter of the party, ministers and senators are supposed to pay N100,000 each month.

“The party is in serious financial straits. We have not been able to settle loads of debts.

“It is even worse when the expenditure profile averages N100 million per month. The party is struggling to meet its overheads because some governors that should pick the bills have refused to pay. The funds don’t come directly, but in the form of the governors bankrolling the visits of the national officers during visits to their states.

“It is so bad now that the party is even struggling to meet its overheads. This is not even enough considering the financial commitments of the national officers, who have aides, logistics and even fuelling their official vehicles. It would have been better if they have fixed allowances given to each of them.

“The financial problem of the party was compounded following the decision of President Buhari not to sponsor the party, in line with the transparency and anti-corruption disposition of his administration.”

Buhari, it was also revealed, does not want to replicate the mistakes of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which openly used state resources to fund its activities when it was in power.

“True to his word, nothing has come to the party from the presidency since June 2015 when the party took over power,” said the source.

Crisis In APC, Rift With Buhari: At last Tinubu Breaks Silence, Addresses Loyalist In lagos
APC National leader, Bola Tinubu, has denied claims that there is a rift between him, President Buhari and some leaders of the party which has forced him to distance himself from many party activities.

His absence at the Ondo state governorship campaign which was attended by President Buhari, gave credence to the rumor that all is not well between him, the presidency and some members of the party.

However, in a swift reaction, Tinubu who spoke at a function in Lagos state yesterday, denied the claims, saying he belongs to the party which he worked tirelessly to form.

"Its all falacy, am fine with Mr president, there is no cause for alarm, I don't need to be living In Aso Rock before you know am in govt, VP Osinbajo is there, Abike Dabiri is there, Fashola is there, lai Muhammed, Fayemi, Fowler and so manny others are all there, I and the President still discuss time to time about national issues.

He asked people to disregard what they read in the media, attributing it to the handiwork of the mischief makers.

"Yes we may have had our own disagreement, which is the beauty of democracy, We are not forming any party neither are we going anywhere,

We built and nurtured APC to its present state and together we must make it work"he said

Ondo Decides 2016: President Buhari, The APC And The Media, By Adedayo Osho
The division, tension and hostility currently experienced within All Progressives Congress, the governing party in Nigeria, was brought about by President Muhammadu Buhari's aloof posture to pertinent issues.

When professional military men or retired strongmen of the force align with politicians, its product will inadvertently be transformation of such officer into a militrician. Avoidable as it may seem, the result of distancing oneself from internal politics post-electoral victory tend to create overzealous factions fighting for control of heart and blood of the political party.

A mass of anti-corruption drive, and its attendant attempt to reshape Nigerians psyche away from corruption' orientation demands flushing political parties of shady manipulations alongside the campaign. The worries among informed political analysts is that APC members appear power-thirsty far more than its league rival, long-time Federal might beneficiary, Peoples Democratic Party.

Controversially, the president while projecting an ideology of "I belong to nobody; I belong to everybody" has fell out of favour with the media revolutionaries of the "Tinubu School of Progressive Politics" based in southwestern part of the country. A lot of those who used to claim to be Buharists now speak ill of him. It is pertinent to advise President Muhammadu Buhari that one of the major precondition for gaining international acceptance is to remain fair to a leader of a people who control the media, comfortably, above any other section of the country.

Not really should this region of the country, Southwest, be wrongly considered superior at the expense of underestimating the rest regions. But because it is the homebase of notable "syndicate" creative writers and political cartoonist I've ever met since my five years of writing, the days ahead before his political calendar runs out in May 2019 may not be sexy for the Daura General-turned-President. It is instructive to state that only few columns circulating nowadays originates from lone rangers, several has since been doctored and sponsored under pseudonyms.

If those who are bent on consolidating their hold on power across Oduduwa nation fail this week in the Sunshine state, be prepared that the arsenal of media propaganda will be unleashed, with more room for daily heating up the policy.

In the context of current political climate,  Rotimi Akeredolu of APC, whose emergence during the primary spiced up this newfound squabbling, is the next governor for Ondo State. At this juncture, the incumbent Governor Olusegun Mimiko has no candidate but a staunch supporter of the APC candidate since the fall of his surrogate, Eyitayo Jegede. Before you blame Mimiko for initially supporting Jegede, see reference in Anambra, Akwa Ibom, Kwara, Kano, to mention but few, and the legendary role of godfathers in who occupies what office across Nigeria, Lagos being a celebrated example.

Perhaps, Nigerian political succession stories since rebirth of democracy in 1999 has been tied to surrogate approach. The case of Kano State where a fallout between the Gandujiyya and Kwakwansiyya movement reinforce the assertion: not all ally-politicians can be trusted with power.

Alas, Olusola Oke of Alliance for Democracy is coming as second. Olu Agunloye of SDP and Jimoh Ibrahim of PDP can compete for third and fourth position in no order.

All other contest or argument on Ondo Gubernatorial result is shifting to post-election tribunal ground.

However, the already corrupt judiciary will protect the interest of their own because Rotimi Akeredolu was once a president of Nigerian Bar Association. In fact, the Association's secretariat in Abuja upon commissioning in 2012 was named before him in recognition of his immenSALY contribution [apologies to pro-Senator Bukola Saraki supporters].

2019 & Fallout With Tinubu's South-West: Buhari Turns South-East To Construction Sites

2019 & Fallout With Tinubu: Buhari Turns South-East To Construction Site
President Muhammadu Buhari has turned the South-eastern part of the nation to construction of various projects site as part of political realignment ahead of the 2019 general elections, to woo the region, report according to Punch Newspaper suggests.

It was gathered in Abuja on Saturday, according to Punch Newspaper that the President had directed that infrastructure gaps in the South-East should be bridged.

It was also learnt that apart from reviving old alliances with associates, the president’s allies were also counting on political bridges built by northern politicians with their eastern counterparts over the years.

In addition to these political moves, Buhari was said to have ordered contractors handling various infrastructural projects in the zone to return to site.

This is aimed at ensuring the speedy completion of the rehabilitation of some federal roads in the region.

Findings showed that emphasis would be placed on the following projects: Port Harcourt-Aba Road, Abriba-Arochukwu-Ohafia Road (Abia State,; Oji-Achi-Obeagu-Mmaku-Awgu-Ndeaboh-Mpu-Okpanku Road (Enugu State), Second Niger Bridge and the Ikot Ekpene Border-Aba-Owerri Road (Akwa Ibom/Abia and Imo States).

Buhari is also said to be eager to erase the impression that he would punish the zone for voting against him during the 2015 election.

This is coming on the heels of subtle threats by some members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, especially from the South-West, to reassess their membership.

A prominent member of the party, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “Of course, a lot of realignment is going on.

“Even the media war between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, should tell you something.”

He added, “The 2015 elections taught us that no part of this country can be ignored. The PDP took the North-Central for granted and they paid for it. The news from the South-West is giving us concerns but we are addressing the issues. We don’t want to leave anything to chance.

“The president is a better politician than many are willing to give him credit for. He listens, he has instructed that infrastructure, especially roads in the zone, be revisited. He knows such projects have a direct impact on the lives of ordinary people.”

The Director General of the Voice of Nigeria, Mr. Osita Okechukwu, however, said it would be wrong to give political colouration to the president’s desire to give every part of Nigeria a sense of belonging.

He explained that in one of his first acts as president, Buhari approved a bailout for interested state governments, irrespective of political affiliations to access funds to pay their workers, some of whom were owed up to 18 months.

Okechukwu said, “The rehabilitation of roads has started across the land not only in the South-East. Mr. President is looking for the best way to meet up with the promises we made during the campaign.

“On the issue of our south-eastern brothers coming back home to the APC where they belong, you and I know that nobody can poach somebody like Orji Uzor Kalu. He is not a hungry man.”

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media, Garba Shehu, could not be reached for a reaction as calls to his mobile telephone were neither picked nor returned. There was no response to a text message sent to him as of the time of filing this report.

However, a highly placed Presidency source told our correspondent, “I am not aware of any special plan for the South-East but I know a stakeholders’ meeting similar to what was held for the South-South is being planned for the South-East (Zone) this year.”

Motorists and road users in Imo State have begun to heave a sigh of relief as the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency commenced repairs of some failed stretches of federal roads in the state.

The motorists plying the busy Owerri-Obowo-Umuahia road described the repairs as timely and requested the agency to sustain the tempo of the reconstruction.

One of the commuters, Mr. Benjamin Mgbelechi, told our correspondent that the deplorable state of the road had forced motorists to look for detours before joining the main alignment, which he said occasionally led to crashes.

Mgbelechi noted that the state of the road had caused untold hardships to road users, adding that it is not uncommon for motorists who use the road to visit mechanic workshops more often than not.

Another motorist, Mr. Cletus Ohiri, stated that at Enyiogugu Mbaise axis, motorists witnessed constant traffic gridlock.

He said, “Owing to washout at that spot, motorists spend hours in heavy traffic.”

A 54-year-old resident of Umulogho in Obowo LGA, Mr. Okechukwu Isika, said the bad state of the road made it easy for robbers to operate.

Isika commended FERMA, adding that the repairs would save many ugly situations especially as Christmas approaches.

A trader, Mrs. Juliet Njoku, also noted that the bad road had affected their businesses negatively.

She said, “We pay through the nose to convey our goods to the markets. Even when we get to the market, the goods are not sold because of the (delayed) time of delivery.

“Also, when we add money to the goods to make up for the high transportation fare, people don’t buy. They usually say the price is high.”

A FERMA Engineer in Imo, Mr. Chukwuemeka Maduagwu, said the agency would ensure that federal roads are without potholes and failed spots.

Maduagwu said, “Within the limit of available resources, we will ensure that all failed sections along our vital economic routes receive attention within the shortest possible time, especially as Christmas approaches with expected increase in traffic.”

Again, Tinubu, 3 APC Governors Shun Akeredolu's Ondo Rally
A National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu was noticeably absent at the party’s governorship campaign rally in Akure, the Ondo State capital on Saturday.

Also absent at the rally were three APC governors in the South-West.

They are governors of Lagos, Oyo and Osun States – Mr. Akinwumi Ambode, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and Mr. Rauf Aregbosola respectively.

Mr Tinubu had accused the APC National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, of manipulating the process that saw Mr. Akeredolu emerge candidate.
Saturday’s rally, the second major one boycotted by Mr. Tinubu and his loyalists was, however, attended by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Democracy Park, Akure.

However, President Muhammadu Buhari and a large entourage of top party members were present at the rally.

Addressing people of the state in Akure, the Chairman of APC Governors’ Forum, Rochas Okorocha, assured the party’s candidate, Rotimi Akeredolu that the party was behind his candidature.

According to Okorocha, “Ondo State must join the progressives states in Nigeria, therefore we must vote for him and he will win the election. Akeredolu rejected federal appointments because he loves you people. He wants to serve you, so vote for him.”

Ondo: Tinubu, Oke, AD Secret Power Sharing Deal LEAKED; See Details of Who Gets What
There were strong indications yesterday, that, ahead of the November 26 governorship poll in Ondo State, former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has sealed an alleged power sharing deal with the candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), Chief Olusola Oke, Daily Sun report suggests

The APC National Leader, Senator Bola Tinubu, is said to be rooting for Chief Olusola Oke, the candidate of the AD, following the edging out of his preferred candidate in the party primary, Chief Segun Abraham.

Oke had, like Abraham, lost out in the same exercise but opted for the Action Alliance (AA) before he moved to the AD allegedly on the directive of Tinubu.

According to ThisDay Newspaper, Tinubu has sealed a power sharing deal with Oke. Among the terms of the deal is that for bankrolling Oke, the Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, would nominate the secretary to the state government.

Among other things, the power sharing deal involves the distribution of cabinet slots and other strategic positions if Oke wins. But there is a caveat: the APC leaders must mobilise enough resources and voters to first ensure the victory of the AD candidate.

Although details of the power sharing deal were still kept secret, a source close to the deal disclosed that Oke had agreed to concede some positions to the APC national leader and Aregbesola.

They include: Secretary to the State Government (SSG), chairmanship of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Commissioners for Finance, Works, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Health and headship of the Ondo State Board of Internal Revenue. Others include six caretaker committee chairmanship positions, that is, two per senatorial district as well as four special advisers.

The source said: “You know that the circumstances that led us to the AD are very peculiar. At first, we wanted Action Alliance but when the national leader suggested that we need to test the ground with AD in lieu of the zone’s interest ahead of 2016, we had no choice than accept the AD proposal.

“But what I just told you is not abnormal in politics especially when you view it from the prism of the need to cut down the APC candidate. I can assure you that the arrangement will work perfectly well and we will have no problem about that.”

Meanwhile, the leadership of the AD has approved a waiver to enable Oke fly the party’s flag in the election.

In a statement by its National Chairman, Chief Joseph Avazi, yesterday, the party said that it had rectified the waiver for Oke at its National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja.

He said: “After a careful and exiting deliberation during the NEC meeting which took place on the 17th day of November, 2016 at Afri Hotel Abuja, in bid to move the party forward, the NEC hereby adopts the following resolution as issued in this communiqué.”
He said that the AD NEC meeting was monitored by INEC officials, Mr. Ifaladu Saadu and Mrs. Bola Adewon.

Late Gbadamosi Was a True Lagosian; He Was Our ‘Poster Boy’- Asiwaju Tinubu

Rasheed Gbadamosi
"I mourn the passage of eminent Nigerian and Lagosian, Chief Rasheed Gbadamosi. He died at a time when his wealth of experience would have come in handy for the challenges of nation-building. Yet, Lagos was happy to have him. And Lagos is proud of the life he lived and all he achieved.

"He was an achiever, economist, industrialist, arts aficionado and nature lover. He diligently served the nation as he served his Lagos home-state. He distinguished himself as Minister of National Planning and much later Chairman Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Commission (PPPRC). He will be sorely missed.

"He was a true Lagosian. Chief Gbadamosi was our ‘poster boy’ in Lagos. Born in Lagos, lived in Lagos, breathed Lagos; he loved his Lagos.

Even though he had been ailing for some time now, but he was very active on the social-cultural scene. He died on the cusp of service of Lagos as Co-Chairman of Lagos at 50 Planning Committee.

"Chief Gbadamosi also recorded giant strides in the business world. He was Chairman, Ragolis Water Limited, AIICO Pension Managers and Lucky Fibres Nigeria Plc.

I send my condolences to his family, to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and the entire people of Lagos State. I also condone the arts community, with which he had identified all through his eventful life.

I pray that Almighty Allah grant him Aljanna Fridaus".
