JUST IN: Multiple Bomb Blasts Rock Adamawa, Scores Killed
Three bombs have exploded in Madagali town in the northern part of Adamawa State, killing many people.

Eye witnesses said three explosions occurred this morning at a crowded motor park on the outskirt of the town.

Casualty figure is not clear as volunteers and security men were evacuating bodies from the scene.

A local official who did not want his name published confirmed the attack, saying there was yet no detail of casualty and that it was not clear whether the attack was suicide.

The Spokesperson of the 28 Task Force Battalion in Mubi, Major Bakare Akintoye did not pick phone calls from our correspondent.

Boko Haram’s six-year insurgency in North-eastern Nigeria has led to the death of over 20,000 people, destroyed more than 1,000 schools and displaced more than 1.5million people.

The insurgency has kept about one million children out of school in Nigeria, forced more than two million people to flee their homes, particularly in the three neighbouring states, according to the UN children’s agency.

Boko Haram has frequently targeted crowded areas — such as markets, places of worship and refugee camps — in suicide bomb attacks across northeast Nigeria and in neighboring Cameroon and Niger.

The Jihadist group has sworn allegiance to the Islamic State and often displays its trademark black flag.

The incident occurred at a busy market in Madagali Local Government Area of the state.

The Army Spokesman, Col. Sani Usman confirmed the incident to Daily Post.

Also, the Information Officer of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Yola branch, Mohammed Attik, when contacted revealed that, “There was actually an attack and our officials are currently on their way to the scene of the incident now.”

On the number of casualties, he said, “When I get more information, I will get back to you.”

The latest blast is the third in Madagali, following attacks by two female suicide bombers on December 28, 2015, at a busy motor park.

Thirty people were killed in that blast and 16 were injured.
