EXPOSED: CAN Leaders Bribed Me N1m To Shut Up Over N7b Jonathan Election Largess - This Pastor Confesses At Last

EXPOSED: CAN Leaders Bribed Me N1m To Shut Up Over N7b Jonathan Election Largess - This Pastor Confesses At Last

Pastor Kallamu Ali Dikwa
The Nation - A Jos-based clergy, Pastor Kallamu Ali Dikwa, yesterday reignited the controversy over the alleged N7billion ‘donation’ to the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) by the Goodluck Jonathan campaign organization ahead of last year’s election.

Dikwa said in Kaduna that he was offered N1million of the sum to ‘keep quiet’.

He first blew open the allegation in 2015 when he claimed the money was given to CAN for the purpose of campaigning for the former president.

Jonathan lost the election.

However, CAN President Supo Ayokunle yesterday dismissed the allegation as a mere fabrication. Ayokunle was vice president to Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, who was CAN President.

Ayokunle said he has never given anyone money since his assumption of office three months ago.

Pastor Dikwa told reporters in Kaduna that he was not out to defame or embarrass anybody, but to let the world know that CAN as a body of Christ should shun illegal money.

He said:”If, as religious body, CAN cannot stand for truth, then Nigeria will continue to grope in the dark. Buhari will never succeed in his fight against corruption if religious leaders can’t shun corruption.”

Asked for proof of the disbursement of the money to CAN, he said, “I don’t have the documents on how the money was handed to CAN, but I have my confidants who were there then and documents on how it was shared.”

He said a particular church was given N50m.

He added, “I maintain my position on the N7b campaign money that was given to CAN and about nine Toyota Jeeps which were shared and distributed among themselves.

“On the 17th of March 2015, at the Department of State Security I was forced to write an undertaking that I will refrain from peddling such information.

“This was prior to a letter written by CAN on 20th February, 2015 to DSS on ‘Complaint against Kallamu Musa Ali Dikwa for false information, defamation of character and mischief likely to cause a breach of public peace’ which led to my arrest and torture for about nine hours by DSS.

“It was after my detention that I wrote to ICPC and EFCC complaining about what I was going through and the need for their necessary action. EFCC responded to me through a text message by one Mr. Ola Oji, Abuja office in December last year: ‘Please be informed that we have vetted your petition to the commission and found it to be civil. Consequently, we decline investigation into same. You may wish to file an action in Court against the subject please.’

“I went to court to challenge my arrest and torture. While the court case was going on, CAN leadership offered me some monetary enticement of N1m in order to withdraw the petition and the matter in court through my bank details. I did that to trap them and to prove the authentication of what is going on.

“It is on record that on 21st of September 2016, CAN through its lawyer  texted me a piece through my mobile line to copy and write to ICPC as my opinion.”

Meanwhile, CAN President, in a telephone interview said, “I don’t know any Dikwa. I have never met any Dikwa in my life. I came on board three months ago and I have never given out any money to any individual. That must be a fabrication.

“He’s not in CAN. This is not the first time he will be making such allegation. He’s looking for people he would get money from. People like me will never do anything like that.

“I have never seen his face though I do read some of his allegations. He’s not somebody of integrity. I’m aware he’s a convert. He’s been sending me text messages but I can never associate with such people.”

Dikwa claimed to have been working with CAN since 2004.

Nigeria Not a Secular Nation, You're Chasing Shadow - Muslim Group Blasts Christian's

Nigeria Not a Secular Nation, You're Chasing Shadow - Muslim Group Blasts Christian's

Nigeria Not a Secular Nation - Muslim Group Blast Chriatian's
The Muslim Rights Concern has described as “bogus” claims by the Christian Elders Forum that Nigeria is a secular country.

The Elders had on Wednesday faulted the position of the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, that Nigeria is a multi-religious nation, insisting it is secular.

But reacting to the Christian Elders’ position, MURIC in a statement on Thursday by its Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, said it “takes exception to the stand taken by the Christian Elders. CEF is trying to hoodwink the Nigerian public by making bogus claims. We challenge the Christian Elders to show us the word ‘secular’ in the constitution.”

Prof Akintola stated further: “A secular country is one that does not recognize God or religion at all. Examples are Russia, China and other communist entities. But is that true of Nigeria?

“This is a country that recognizes the existence of many faiths. Churches, mosques and shrines thrive in their thousands while the Federal and State governments give official recognition to the spiritual engagements of the followers of all creeds.

“To cap the edifice, the preamble of the Nigerian Constitution starts with the words, “We the people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, having firmly and solemnly resolved to live in unity and harmony as one indivisible and indissoluble sovereign nation under GOD…”

“This is an indubitable rejection of secularism. So how secular is ‘secular’Nigeria? It is sheer bunkum. We assert clearly, emphatically and unequivocally that Nigeria is a multi-religious nation.
“MURIC affirms that the Sultan is right. Nigeria is a multi-religious nation. By describing Nigeria as a secular country, CEF ploy is to sustain the colonial game of Christianisation of the Nigerian structure.

“They are simply defending the actions of the colonial master. Based on the strategic approach of all belligerent elements and oppressors, that attack is the best form of defence, it is now in the character of Nigerian Christian leaders to be constantly on the attack.

“The truth is that the British colonialists had forcefully entrenched Christian way of life on Nigeria. A few examples will suffice. Whereas Friday was our day of rest since the advent of Islam in Nigeria in 1085, the colonial master who came 800 years later (in 1842) annulled Friday (like June 12) and changed it to Sunday. Shariah was prohibited while Christian common law was imposed on us till today.

“Hijab, which was an integral part of school uniforms for female students, was outlawed. Islamic Studies was trivialised while Bible knowledge was prioritized. The Christian cross was forced on us as symbol for the hospitals.

“The church choir gown became the officially recognized academic gown used during ceremonies in universities. It is also used by lawyers and judges in the law courts. We can go on and on ad infinitum.

“Christian elders complain that Muslims are now occupying certain posts but they ignore all other sensitive positions being occupied by Christians. Were they on sabbatical in the days of former President Jonathan when General Ihejirika was Chief of Army Staff, Rear Admiral Dele Ezeobe was Chief of Naval Staff, Air Vice Marshall Alex Badeh was Chief of Air Staff? Were these people Muslims? Where were the Christian elders when all Jonathan’s ministers from the South West were Christians?

“We appeal to the Christian Elders to allow their nomenclature to reflect in their actions and utterances. They should let Nigerian youths benefit from the wisdom of elders and not vice versa. We expect CEF to douse tension and not to heat up the polity.

“Nigeria has enough on its hands already and true patriotism demands that all hands be on deck to salvage the near-helpless situation. Let us squarely face the tangential and ignore the peripheral. Nigeria should be on our mind, not fishing for men or rabble-rousing.

“MURIC salutes the Sultan of Sokoto for his self-control, unparalleled tolerance and robust appetite for moderation. We urge him to ignore all sorts of provocation and continue in his chosen path of statesmanship and responsible leadership.”

Hijab Ruling Protest: Osun Christian Students Storm Schools With Cassocks, Choir Robes, See Photos

Osun State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has stated that Christians in the state public schools would start wearing church garments to school if Governor Rauf Aregbesola goes ahead to implement to recent State High judgment on wearing of hijab by Muslim students.

This statement was made through a communiqué issued and signed by the state CAN chairman, Rev. Elisha Ogundiya, at the end of an emergency meeting of the state CAN Executive Committee, heads of blocks and heads of churches held in Osogbo on Tuesday, June 7, 2016.

Fresh Religion Crisis Brew In Osun As Christians Vow To Wear Church Garments To School Over Hijab Ruling

According to him, the meeting deliberated on the outcome of the hijab case with particular reference to the June 3, 2016, judgment of Justice Saka Oyejide Falola of the Osun State High Court sitting at Court No. 5, Osogbo, and resolved on a number of issues.

“OS-CAN states that it finds itself unable to agree with the judgement in its entirety as we have reasons to believe that it represents a study in premeditated adjudication that runs against the printed grain of legal submissions made before him. We have unanimously decided to appeal the judgement.

“Specifically speaking, Justice Saka Oyejide Falola deeply violated the principle of fair hearing when he refused and or failed to hear, let alone rule, one way or the other, on the application to be joined in the case properly filed and brought to his attention in open court by the interested parties whose schools were taken over forcefully by the government and stood to be affected by the judgment he later proceeded to deliver.'

“Further, Justice Saka Oyejide Falola made an ancillary order which was not based, anchored or premised on any submission or prayer canvassed by the parties before him that by saying by way of ancillary order, the Muslim female students hijab shall be in the colour and design already approved by the first-third respondents and currently in use by Muslim female students in public schools or any other design recommended by the first-third respondents.

“We maintain that since none of the parties in the case canvassed for such order, he went out of the processes to descend into the arena to suit the desire of his fellow religious faithful. It is, for now, better left to the imagination where Justice Saka Oyejide Falola came by this detail extraneous to the filed processes in the suit.

“That the judgement read severally that hijab is a means of propagation of Islam which he said is a fundamental right of Muslim girls and ladies. This declaration violates the religious right of the original owners of the missionary schools as agreed upon when the schools were taken over by the then government of Oyo State in 1975.

“That the government be wary about giving effect to this judgement which we suspect was masterminded by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola a la work-to-rule mode in line with his Islamization Agenda which was earlier stated by the Directorate of Military Intelligence in 2012 based on credible intelligence and corroborated by OS-CAN in 2014. This unshed toga of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola flies in the face of the fact of the overwhelming number of Christians in Osun State vis-a-vis Muslims.

“We urge all Christians in Osun State to be law abiding and live peacefully as we have always done with our neighbours, irrespective of their religious inclinations, while we seek to employ all legitimate means to resist any form of Islamisation of our beloved state where, incidentally, Christians constitute the larger number.

“While the Osun State government is inclined to implementing the judgement, Christian students in all public schools founded by Christians with the toil and sweat of our forefathers in the faith will have no choice but to start wearing Christian garments and vestments as part of their school uniform for the propagation of our own faith, given the Justice Saka Oyejide Falola declared right of Muslim female students to do same as what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander as well.

“Adherents of other faiths who have their choice to make in this matter can wear theirs as well.”

CAN called on all men and women of goodwill, Muslims and Christians, the presidency, National Assembly and the international community to intervene in this situation before it escalates beyond control.

Meanwhile, British government has distanced itself from media reports suggesting that Britain set up a meeting between President Buhari, Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and some militants in London. A statement made available to Nigerian Pilot by British High Commission in Abuja states; “Media reports suggesting that the British Government has set up a meeting with President Buhari, former President Jonathan and representatives of Niger Delta groups to discuss a solution to recent violence in the Niger Delta region are incorrect. We are aware that President Buhari is currently in London seeking medical attention. We are not aware of ant meetings on Niger Delta while he is there”
