Nigeria-Born Dele Alli Ruins Chelsea Winning Streak; Watch Video Of The The 2 Goals That Sinks Chelsea Here

Dele Alli
The England international found the back of the net either side of the interval to help Spurs move up to third in the Premier League and seven points behind Antonio Conte's men

Dele Alli scored a header either side of the interval as Tottenham ended Chelsea's hopes of making Premier League history with a 2-0 victory at White Hart Lane on Wednesday.

The Blues were looking to set a new top-flight record of 14 successive league wins in one season but they were denied by Mauricio Pochettino's men, who have moved up to third following their victory.

Alli, who netted two strikes apiece against Southampton and Watford in Spurs' previous two league outings, continued his rich vein of goalscoring form with a header in added time at the end of the first half.

And the England international soon added his second as he ghosted into the Chelsea box to head past Thibaut Courtois after 54 minutes.

At Last, Mikel To Join Valencia In 4 Years Deal From Chelsea - 'Jesus' Confirms

Mikel Obi
Super Eagles captain and Chelsea of England midfielder John Mikel Obi is likely to end his playing nightmare with Conte following a likely move to Valencia after holding Christmas Day talks with the Spanish club.According to dailymail.com

Sporting director of Valencia of Spain, Jesus Garcia Pitarch says he put forward a proposal to Mikel, 29, whose Chelsea contract expires in the summer.

The Nigeria international is free to talk to foreign clubs about a summer move and Chelsea allowed him to discuss a January exit with Valencia, who are believed to be offering a potential four-year deal.

Valencia sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch confirmed he met with Mikel to put forward a proposal a little over a week ago.

But manager Cesare Prandelli’s decision to quit the Spanish club after just 10 games since that meeting could throw a spanner into the works.

‘In the case of Obi Mikel, with Chelsea’s permission, I met with him in London on Christmas Day,’ Pitarch told Spanish outlet Superdeporte.
‘I informed him of the option [of joining Valencia]. He said he would think about it.’

Prandelli left Valencia on Saturday after growing frustrated with their lack of ambition in the transfer market.

Mikel, a veteran of 11 seasons at Stamford Bridge since joining from Lyn Oslo in 2006, has also fielded interest from Marseille.

The defensive midfielder would have preferred to stay at Chelsea but accepts that he may have to move on, with Mikel placed some way down Antonio Conte’s pecking order.

The Italian manager signed N’Golo Kante this summer and Nathaniel Chalobah is also now ahead of Mikel in his thinking after returning from a series of loan spells.

Eden Hazard scored twice as Chelsea exploited a slip-up by Manchester City to claim top spot in the Premier League by clinically crushing Everton 5-0 on Saturday.

Marten de Roon’s stoppage-time equaliser earned Middlesbrough a 1-1 draw at City and Antonio Conte’s Chelsea took advantage to move a point clear of Pep Guardiola’s side at the summit.

Arsenal and Liverpool could also surpass City before the weekend is out, the former tackling Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday’s North London derby and the latter entertaining Watford.

Elsewhere, bottom club Sunderland ended their wait for a first win of the season at the 11th attempt by coming from behind to win 2-1 at Bournemouth despite having Steven Pienaar sent off.

At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea produced one of their most scintillating performances in recent memory as the 2014-15 champions made it five straight wins without conceding a goal.

Hazard opened the scoring in the 19th minute, drifting in from the left to drill a shot into the bottom-right corner, and a minute later Pedro Rodriguez teed up Marcos Alonso for the hosts’ second.

Diego Costa made it 3-0 three minutes before half-time, slamming home at the back post after Nemanja Matic flicked on Hazard’s corner to bring up his ninth goal of the campaign.

Chelsea’s fourth goal was a jewel, Pedro returning Hazard’s pass with a sweet back-heel and the Belgian dancing into the box from the right before lashing home with his left foot.

Pedro volleyed in the fifth, in the 65th minute, after Everton goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg parried a shot from Hazard.

City went into their game on the back of a stirring 3-1 Champions League win over Barcelona and Boro’s former Barca goalkeeper Victor Valdes looked determined to restore Catalan pride at the Etihad Stadium.

He saved brilliantly from Sergio Aguero and David Silva, only for Aguero to put the hosts ahead in the 43rd minute by converting Kevin De Bruyne’s sumptuous cross for his 150th goal in 223 City appearances.

Boro showed more attacking intent in the second half, former City striker Alvaro Negredo almost catching out Claudio Bravo with an audacious lob from his own half before Bravo saved smartly from Adam Forshaw.

– Barnes late show –

After Aguero had squandered a late chance, Dutch midfielder De Roon met George Friend’s deep cross with a thumping header to earn Boro a dramatic point.

“We did absolutely everything to win the game. It is a pity,” said Guardiola, whose side have drawn their last three home league games 1-1 following previous stalemates against Everton and Southampton.

“It is a miss because we have dropped six points in the last three home games, but we are still there. We have to move forward.”

Sunderland remain bottom, below Swansea City on goal difference, but manager David Moyes belatedly has a victory to his name following a hard-fought success at Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium.

After Adam Smith had teed up Dan Gosling to bundle in an 11th-minute opener for Bournemouth, Victor Anichebe equalised with his first Sunderland goal.

Pienaar was sent off just before the hour after receiving a second yellow card for a lunge on Junior Stanislas, but Jermain Defoe netted a 74th-minute winner from the spot after Smith felled Anichebe.

“It is a big relief,” Moyes told Sky Sports. “We owed the supporters the victory. They have kept with us.

“We needed a win, but it is only one. We need a few more.”

There was late drama at Turf Moor as Burnley withstood a Crystal Palace fightback to prevail 3-2 courtesy of Ashley Barnes’s 94th-minute strike.

Sam Vokes and Johann Berg Gundmundsson put Burnley 2-0 up, only for Palace to hit back through second-half goals by substitute Connor Wickham and Christian Benteke.

But in the fourth minute of stoppage time, Gudmundsson crossed for Barnes to fire home and condemn Palace — who later hit the post through Andros Townsend — to a fourth straight defeat.

Stoke City drew 1-1 at West Ham United, Bojan Krkic exploiting an error by home goalkeeper Adrian to equalise in the 75th minute after a Glenn Whelan own goal had put the hosts ahead.

Conte Issues Red Card To Mikel To Quit Chelsea

Conte Issues Red Card To Mikel To Quit Chelsea

Mikel Obi
Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte has dropped a bombshell on the club’s current second longest serving player John Mikel Obi by stating that he is not in his plans and can leave in January.

Mikel after spending 11 seasons at Stamford Bridge will have to move on since he appears to have been frozen out of the team after being relegated to the bench since Conte took over as coach.

The Super Eagles captain according to reports had engaged in talks with Conte pertaining to making his first competitive appearance under him and Mikel had given the impression that matters were under control only to receive this shocker from his English side’s boss.

Coach of the Nigerian national team Gernot Rohr met with Technical Director Mike Emenalo, who revealed to Rohr that Mikel is not in the plans of the Italian manager.

“Talks were held between Mikel and the manager. As for now he has been told he can leave in January, mind you his contract is set to expire in the summer” a source close to the midfielder told Owngoalnigeria.com.

“There’s every possibility for him to leave Chelsea either on loan or permanently in January. But the summer looks more likely. Every story must have an end. After 11 seasons, Mikel wants to move on and so too Chelsea.”

The 29-year-old midfielder put his Chelsea career at risk and guided the national team to a memorable bronze at the Rio Olympic Games in August – and returned  the following month to lead the Super Eagles to a 1-0 victory over Tanzania in a Gabon 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo.

Transfer Deadline: David Luiz Rejoins Chelsea
The Brazilian international David Luiz is as good as being called Chelsea's player again pending his transfer deadline day medical he is currently undergoing, as media reports have suggested.

Luiz has traveled to London to undergo a medical and secure a return to Chelsea for £38 million (€45m), reports say.

Chelsea launched a bid for the Brazil international on Tuesday, offering Paris Saint-Germain £32m for the centre-back.

However, PSG demanded an increase in the offer, with the French champions and the Blues reaching an agreement over a £38m, including bonuses.

The 29-year-old looks set to return to Chelsea just two years after he left to join les Parisiens for £50m.

Luiz has already traveled to London and will undergo a medical to complete the deal ahead of the close of the transfer window on Wednesday.

Chelsea has also been busy chasing Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina, with the Serie A side confirming a transfer has been agreed.

Chelsea Team Not Okay Yet, Must Sign More Players To Win EPL - Antonio Conte

Chelsea Team Not Okay Yet, Must Sign More Players To Win EPL - Antonio Conte
Antonio Conte admits Chelsea’s chances of winning the Premier League will be damaged if they fail to make any more signings before the transfer window closes next week.

Conte has been desperate to add quality and depth to a squad that went stale during their dismal title defence last year, but the Blues boss has so far managed to secure only three new recruits.

The Italian splashed out £33 million ($43 million, 38 million euros) on Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi and £30 million on Leicester midfielder N’Golo Kante during the close-season before this week bringing in third choice goalkeeper Eduardo from Dinamo Zagreb.

That is a paltry spree compared to the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City, who have both spent well over £100 million, while even the notoriously spend-thrift Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger appears to be loosening the purse strings as Wednesday’s transfer deadline approaches.

Conte would like one quality centre-back and a top-class striker, but Chelsea have been frustrated by the huge fees they have been quoted for the likes of Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly and AC Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli.

Fearing Chelsea won’t get any deals done in time, Conte on Friday made it clear he is worried his rebuilding project at Stamford Bridge will be undermined.

“It is important to have the right number of players in the squad. We know Chelsea is a great team and we must fight until the end for the title,” Conte told reporters.

“But also we know that last season we finished 10th, not fifth or sixth, 10th. It’s important not to forget this.”

“I hope to improve the squad with some new players in this transfer market because when you start a very tough league like England it is important to have many players to face this situation.

“I must be honest. I think we have a problem to reach our targets. The market is very crazy.

“I believe we can do it, but with this market it is very difficult. I have some targets but these targets are difficult to buy.”

For now, Conte has to focus on preparing the players at his disposal for Saturday’s home game against Burnley as Chelsea look to extend their 100 percent record under their new boss.

With Premier League wins over West Ham and Watford and a English Football League Cup success against Bristol Rovers, Conte has hit the ground running.

Antonio Conte admits Chelsea’s chances of winning the Premier League will be damaged if they fail to make any more signings before the transfer window closes next week.

But the former Juventus and Italy coach knows there is still plenty of work to do before Chelsea are up to speed.

“I’ve been working with these players for only 40 days,” he said. “We played three games and we won all of them.

“I’m pleased to start the season in this way to take more confidence after last season.

“But I know, and I told my players, we can improve a lot.”

With that in mind, Conte was quick to warn his players of the dangers posed by Burnley, who enjoyed a shock win over Liverpool last weekend.

“I watched the performance against Liverpool, it was fantastic, their physical aspect put a great pressure on Liverpool for 90 minutes,” Conte said.

“People pay attention to possession and say you don’t win without the ball, but Burnley had only 25 percent possession and Liverpool had 75, yet the result was 2-0 to Burnley.

“For this reason I told my players to pay a lot of attention because it will be a very tough match. We have to be together.

“The English league every game is very tough. Every game you must face with great attention and understand if you don’t have the right attention anything can happen. “

Leicester City Win Historic EPL Tittle

Leicester City Win Historic EPL Tittle

The Chelsea Football Club has helped the Leicester City have won the Premier League title to cap a fairytale season in English football, with Tottenham's failure to beat defending champions meaning they can no longer be caught.

Claudio Ranieri's men could have been crowned on Sunday when they faced Manchester United at Old Trafford, but saw their celebrations delayed after they drew 1-1 with Louis van Gaal's men.

However, the Foxes are now Premier League champions after Monday night's 2-2 scoreline at Stamford Bridge, having started the 2015-16 as one of the bookmakers' favourites for relegation with 5,000-1 title odds.

After narrowly avoiding relegation last season with a run of seven wins from their remaining nine games, Leicester continued that form into the new season under Claudio Ranieri with just three defeats all season.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United, considered the most likely title contenders, all suffered inconsistent form to leave Leicester and Tottenham to fight for the title in recent weeks.

The Foxes have not been positioned lower than second since October and have held on to first place consistently since January, holding off the challenge of Spurs to clinch a first ever top-flight crown.

Last Monday's 1-1 draw for Tottenham against West Brom brought Leicester to within three points of sealing their unlikely title win, but now Spurs' collapse at Stamford Bridge has settled the season with two matches to play.
