In it’s committed effort to ensure an electoral process that would meet the global standard and satisfy the desire of the electorate; the Federal Government has constituted a constitutional and electoral reforms committee to re-jig the current Act.
Comrade Salihu Othman Isah, Special Adviser to the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN has revealed.
In a press statement Comrade Isah issued yesterday and made available to newsmen in Abuja, the Special Adviser disclosed that the Committee will be inaugurated on Tuesday October 4, 2016 at the HAGF’s Conference Room, Abuja by 11am.
The release state inter-alia that, “The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami SAN, will on Tuesday October 4, 2016 inaugurate a Committee on Constitutional and Electoral Reform at the HAGF’s Conference Room, Abuja by 11am.
“The Committee is expected to Review Electoral environment, laws and experiences from recent elections conducted in Nigeria and make Recommendations to strengthen and achieve the conduct of free and fair elections in Nigeria.
“Members of the Committee are expected to take note and turn up for the inauguration”, it concluded.
