Femi Fani-Kayode: A Voice Imperiled By Deranged Senses, By Ola S. Sanmi

Femi Fani-Kayode
It is ceaseless angst across the nation that Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai became the focus of the latest article by the Nigeria’s odious and demented former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode (FFK). His cursed, unrestricted senselessness and confused emotions are unleashed on anyone his madness is prodded to hate any day. Visit the nearest psychiatric hospital and you decode the gist appropriately. FFK titled the article, “Buratai, Biafra and the Guardians of Empire Nigeria.”

It’s sometimes preferable to overlook FFK’s deranged ranting, because it’s difficult to completely cure an insane person. But a response to this one is spurred by the twisted intention to dwarf the credentials of Gen. Buratai, an internationally acclaimed icon in military circles and the czar of anti-terrorism campaigns, whose exceptional impact is unreservedly feted in Nigeria, Africa and the globe.

Any genuine indigene of Yoruba descent in Nigeria would be shocked to hear, read or watch FFK insult and abuse elders or everybody with such recklessness and impunity. It’s not permissible in Yoruba culture. But unfortunately, it is not debatable that FFK is not of Yoruba ancestry and his queer behavior is garnered from this perspective.

FFK is yet to disprove the deconstruction of his un-Nigerian genealogy by Engr. Fabiyi Rotimi (COREN), which was widely publicized in March 2015. It traced his roots to a Temne tribe in Sierra Leone, after his father was rescued aboard a slave ship from Sierra Leone in Lagos, designated for the slave market in the western world. And thereafter, his father was salvaged by the Nigerian Yoruba Bishop Ajayi Crowther. So, claiming ancestry from Ile-Ife is offending enough, but traducing the cherished traditional values of the Yorubas who picked him, a homeless boy on the street and breathe life into him is sacrilegious.

But FFK’s dilemma is not far rooted. With certainty, Nigerian prisons are not necessarily reformation homes. They are about the worse places of confinement of any person anywhere else, even for a day.
Those who have passed through the misfortune of a romance with Nigerian prisons end up with two paralyses - diminished reasoning and intellectual capacity. Also, a date with any Nigerian prison cascades you speedily to premature senility. FFK’s words and actions depict the comportment of an escapee lunatic from a psychiatric home in extreme deranged senses.

This appears to be the fate of FFK who has obviously been imperiled by the Nigerian demons of incarceration. His odious and polluted tenure as a minister in Nigeria has made him a jailbird in Kirikiri and Kuje prisons at different intervals.

Though naturally gifted in disreputable conduct, abusive utterances and mental imbalance, FFK’s jailing worsened this innate capacity for sound reasoning. Nigeria has many examples of jailbirds in the mould of FFK. But they are remarkably different from FFK because conscious of their weaknesses, they prefer to be more reflective and less vociferous, unlike him.

But FFK’s proclivity to abuse, insult and denigrate prominent Nigerian leaders confounds, but the least, befuddling, when judged on the pillar of his Nigerian prison experience. Every notable Nigerian leader has had a douse of his mental instability. He once publicized that former Nigerian President and his political benefactor, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo (OBJ) was an ingrate for stoutly opposing the 2015 doomed re-election of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

And when FFK became the Director, Media and Publicity, PDP Presidential Campaign Organization for Jonathan in 2015, and OBJ furiously tore his PDP membership card publicly, he said, “Such behavior is provocative and unacceptable.” In Yoruba tradition where he claims known artificialized ancestry, its rudeness and abusive for a younger one to use such abusive vocabulary to qualify the actions of an elder like OBJ.

However, before this hour, FFK at a book launch in Lagos once described the administration of Jonathan as bequeathing a legacy of “destruction and disaster” in the country. But when he became Jonathan’s bootlicker, he had to brazenly abuse an elder statesmen like OBJ for kicking against the political agenda of Jonathan in 2015. At another instance, FFK ironically agreed with contents of OBJ’s open letter to Jonathan about “bleeding Nigeria to death,” and canvassed for change. But when OBJ set the process of leadership, he became FFK’s deadliest foe because he was cozied in Jonathan’s bosom.

During the hot campaigns for the 2015 presidential elections, FFK said Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu; “… belongs in a sanatorium for the mentally unbalanced and a maximum security prison for the power obsessed rather than in any political party.”

This arrogance of an alien, habitated in Nigeria on sympathetic grounds once referred to President Muhammadu Buhari as a leader who has lost his senses. Typical of the often rioting demons in his system, FFK once branded the Igbos on an international news medium thus “…the Ibos of Nigeria are collectively unlettered, uncouth, uncultured, unrestrained and crude in all their ways…” But today, he claims to be in the vanguard of MASSOB or IPOB’s quest for Biafra. What pyrrhic love.
Therefore, when his tormented soul added to his list of traducers, the revered and internationally acclaimed soldier and nemesis of Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) in Nigeria, Gen. Buratai, Nigerians felt saddened that he was treading on the familiar path on another wrong side. FFK’s crude and barbaric instincts became unchained against Buratai because the latter advised self-serving and violent separatists camps in Nigeria to shelve the unworkable idea for the future, as today’s Nigeria does not embrace such hooliganism.

In FFK’s lengthy response to Gen. Buratai and the Northern oligarchy, he thoroughly misplaced and miscalculated history. His asinine postulations of facts betrayed him more as a foreign spy on Nigerian soil. But he forgot easily that the people he has chosen to caricature in his berserk senses have far better grasp of the history and the events he rehearses every time than himself.
An anonymous scholar in 2017 quieted FFK’s disingenuous historical outbursts on Gen. Buratai, this great soldier of history in these endearing words; "The man Buratai as holder of PhD in history is a better historian than the one-sided pedestrian collection of historical half- truths you represented. You have not ventured into even the simplest historical detail of the last Nigerian Civil War here at home, otherwise you would have realized there was 'no victor nor vanquished'. There was only wanton destruction, human suffering and despair. You are miscalculating by presuming the willingness of those fictional Nigeria's factional interests to go their separate ways."

The jailbird undoubtedly has hazy recollection and disjointed knowledge about the Nigerian civil war. But the Mr. Anonymous has reminded him, to perish the thought that a victor emerged in that conflict. The dimensions of the war and the premise upon which it ended cannot be re-invented by FFK.

So, when a celebrated war veteran in the capacity of Buratai, advises the spineless groups in the Southeast and elsewhere in Nigeria, the counsel is informed by his historical knowledge of the truth. FFK is incompetent to concoct fraudulent historical collections to dare Buratai, an army officer who would ordinarily tutor him in history and particularly, about events of the Nigerian civil war.
Therefore, it is laughable when FFK claims passion and fondness for every tribe or region of Nigeria today, when he abused and reduced the same people to nothingness in his lunacy of yesterday. How could the Igbos, which his mutilated senses described as, “… collectively unlettered, uncouth, uncultured, unrestrained and crude in all their ways…” suddenly become his idols for the Biafran agenda?

When he got the undeserved appointment as aviation and later culture and tourism minister, how many Igbos or his adopted kinsmen, the Yorubas, or Middle Belters did he assist to make life better for them? Or, is anointing himself, the advocate of violence and ethnic warlord-ship for unwilling people the better life he is offering them when he has no mandate to render service?

Ordinarily, FFK should be the last person to accuse anybody of killings in Nigeria. His hands are conspicuously stained in the blood of the innocent Nigerians. He allegedly embezzled public funds voted for the improvement of facilities and upgrade of Nigerian airports, as minsiter. The resultant effect of failure to service these airports under his watch led to frequent fatal plane crashes. The air mishaps massively killed Igbos, Yorubas and every other Nigerian.

Yet, it could not assuage his bloodthirsty appetite. He proceeded in 2015 to partake in the Dasukigate’s $2.1 billion arms procurement fund by “fetching” large sums of money from it to promote partisan campaigns for Jonathan. The intention of purchasing weapons to fight insurgency in the Northeast was frustrated by characters like FFK. And the number of Nigerians Boko Haram terrorists murdered in cold blood as a result of his fraudulent actions with other collaborators, surpasses the isolated killings he frequently mentions in his lunatic outrages.

He once proclaimed that “…the cause of all the problems in Nigeria and the whole world are Muslims…,” and yet today, FFK sanctifies the extremist and violence-prone, Iran-backed, Shiites in Nigeria (IMN).

Nigerians know FFK has no conscience and that he is a Sierra Leonean, very ungrateful to Nigeria. But the privilege of domiciliary in Nigeria these decades and the hospitality, the good people of Nigeria have offered him should not be misconstrued and abused to the extent of boldly working for the foreign agents, plotting the destabilization of Nigeria. If Nigeria goes into flames, he will run to his home-country, Sierra Leone to take refuge. Aware of his roots, and excusing insanity, he has no mandate to speak for the Yoruba race or prod any other group in Nigeria on any issue or to instigate anarchy in the guise of separatism.

FFK should not forget this admonishment from the Holy Scriptures in Proverbs 6:16-19 thus; “There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers."

It's Time We Set PDP Ablaze, Leave It Carcass For Sheriff - Fani-Kayode
Infuriated at the Appeal Court judgement, which pronounced the former Borno Governor, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the authentic national Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, a former aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Koyde has said the time is up to set the party ablaze and forgo it carcass for the victorious former factional chairman, turned authentic.

The former Presidential campaign spokesperson in a series of tweet on his twitter handle wrote: “The C of A decision is absurd. It is time for us to gut the PDP, leave its carcass for the treacherous mole called Sheriff and form a new party.”

Fani-Kayode, who dropped the hint while reacting to the Appeal Court’s earlier ruling affirming Sheriff as PDP Chairman, has earlier described the ruling as victory for President Muhammadu Buhari.

Recall that the Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State had earlier today ruled in favour of the former Borno State Governor.

A three-man panel of judges in a unanimous decision agreed that the former Borno State Governor is the authentic National Chairman of the party.

Following the ruling, the Makarfi’s faction of the former ruling party disclosed that it would be heading for the Supreme court to contest the judgement.

The duo of former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode and the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose have threatened that Ondo State will be war bloody and war-torn should the federal government try to rig today's election in favour of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC.

Fani-Kayode in a post on facebook threatened that ‘the dogs of war’ would be unleashed on the country if Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo state is rigged.

“INEC should not allow itself to be used by a rapacious and desperate Federal Government to win the state “at all costs”,
“They must not do anything that will provoke the wrath of the people of Ondo and they must ensure that the election is free and fair. That is the only way to guarantee and ensure peace.
“Anything short of that will result in the murder of sleep, the invocation of the clouds of uncertainty and the release of the dogs of war,”  excerpt from Fani-Kayode's post read.

BREAKING: Gov. Fayose At EFCC Headquarters

BREAKING: Gov. Fayose At EFCC Headquarters

FAYOSE
Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, visited the former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Abuja,  Punch Newspaper reports

The governor arrived at the EFCC office at 2:15pm and left at 4:30pm.

He was received by three operatives of the EFCC.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), is to arraign Fani-Kayode, on new charges of fraud on Nov. 10.

Fani-Kayode, a former Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, was re-arrested by EFCC operatives while emerging from a Federal High Court room in Lagos on October 21.

He is standing trial in the Lagos court alongside a former Minister of Finance,  Nenandi Usman, one Danjuma Yusuf and a company, Joint Trust Dimension Nigeria Ltd.

The three are facing a 17-count charge of unlawful retention, unlawful use and unlawful payment of money to the tune of about N4.9 billion, a charge they denied.

Reports say that the Prosecutor, Mr Rotimi Oyedepo, had concluded the witness’ evidence for the day, and the case adjourned till Nov. 14 and Nov. 15 for continuation of hearing.

But as the accused emerged from the courtroom, he was flanked by two EFCC operatives who led him into a waiting Toyota Hiace bus and drove him away.

However, shortly after the accused left the courtroom, two officers of the EFCC dressed in white Kaftans, flanked his sides and requested that he followed them to the commission.

He has been in the commission’s custody since then.

Obanikoro In Fresh EFCC Trouble Over Another N400m Slush Fund Linked To Diezani

Obanikoro In Fresh EFCC Trouble Over Another N400m Slush Fund Linked To Diezani

Obanikoro In Fresh EFCC Trouble Over Another N400m Slush Fund Liked To Diezani
Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, a former Minister of State for Defence,  has been linked in a fresh N400m scam, News Punch has learned

According to Punch Newspaper, impeccable sources in the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission revealed on Sunday that Obanikoro, who was released last Friday, might be invited again soon to explain his alleged role in the scam.

The ex-minister, who returned from the United States on October 17, spent three weeks at the Abuja office of the EFCC for allegedly receiving N4.7bn from the Office of the National Security Adviser and distributing over N3bn to Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State and Senator Iyiola Omisore, who were the governorship candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti and Osun states respectively in 2014.

Obanikoro subsequently returned N100m to the EFCC with a promise to return another N480m.

His American and Nigerian passports were subsequently seized before his release last Friday.

An EFCC detective on Sunday told Punch Newspaper correspondent that recent investigations showed that Obanikoro allegedly received N400m from a former Minister of Finance, Senator Nenadi Usman, who was the Director of Finance of the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation during the build-up to the 2015 elections.

The source said sometime in 2015, Usman sent the money to Obanikoro through a proxy.

The detective said, “As part of investigations into the billions disbursed by Nenadi Usman during the build-up to the 2015 elections, we interrogated a suspect at our office. The suspect told us that he handed over N400m to Obanikoro in the presence of some PDP members.

“So, Obanikoro will be invited to the Lagos office of the EFCC to tell his own side of the story.”

The EFCC had alleged in March that about N3.145bn was mysteriously transferred from the account of the ONSA, domiciled in the Central Bank of Nigeria, to the account of Joint Trust Dimensions Limited, a company allegedly owned by Usman.

Usman was said to have transferred N840m to the account of the Director of Publicity of the organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, in Zenith Bank on February 19, 2015, while she allegedly gave a former finance minister, Chief Olu Falae, N100m on the instruction of a PDP stalwart, Chief Anthony Anenih.

A former Governor of Imo State, Achike Udenwa, and a former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Viola Onwuliri, according to the documents, got N350m in two tranches.

The first tranche of N150m was allegedly paid into their joint account with Zenith Bank on January 13, 2015. The second tranche of N200m was credited into their account with Diamond bank.

Usman and Fani-Kayode have since been arraigned before the Federal High Court in Lagos and their accounts frozen while Udenwa and Falae may be arraigned soon.

Apart from the ONSA fund, Usman allegedly disbursed a separate N23bn to various states during the build-up to the elections.

The money Usman disbursed allegedly emanated from a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

The money, which was $115m but converted to N23bn, was alleged to have been kickbacks from some dubious oil contractors involved in oil theft.

The EFCC has, so far, grilled about 16 former governors and ministers over the alleged N23bn Diezani sleaze.

Some of them include the immediate past Governor of Kebbi State, Saidu Dakin Garin; former Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State; former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau of Kano State; former Governor Ali Modu Sheriff of Borno State; former Governor James Ngilari of Adamawa State; and a former Governor of Zamfara State, Mamuda Shinkafi.

Among the others are a former Governor of Cross River State, Senator Liyel Imoke; a former Minister of State for FCT, Jumoke Akinjide; and a former Minister of State for Finance, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda.

During the elections, each state was said to have received at least N450m from the fund, which was handled by ministers or governors, who were members of the PDP.

All attempts to speak with Obanikoro’s media aide, Jonathan Eze, proved abortive on Sunday

as his phone indicated that it was switched off.

A source close to Obanikoro, however, told our correspondent that the ex-minister was not in charge of former President’s Goodluck Jonathan’s Lagos campaign and therefore could not have received such money.

He said, “I am aware that the EFCC has interrogated the person who collected money for the Jonathan campaign organisation. However, Senator Obanikoro never collected N400m from him.

“Those who collected money at Federal Palace Hotel know themselves and they should please leave Senator Obanikoro out of it.”

Bishop Kukah Prays For The Trio Of PDP VIP Prisoners Obanikoro, Fani-Kayode, Abati In EFCC Custody

 Obanikoro, Fani-Kayode, Abati
The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Rev’d Matthew Kukah, on Monday visited the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Abuja, where he prayed for some chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, currently being detained.

Kukah prayed for former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of state for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro and ex-spokesman to the immediate past president, Reuben Abati.

The trio are being held for allegedly benefiting from the slush funds said to be misappropriated by the former National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd).

Kukah, who was conducted round the detention facility by the acting Chairman of the agency, Ibrahim Magu, described it as ‘clean and orderly.”

The priest, who used the visit to assess the state of the detention facilities, said he was satisfied that the EFCC paid premium attention to the well being of the detainees by ensuring that the facilities provided comfort to them.

Speaking after the tour, the clergyman said, “I discussed with some detained suspects like Femi Fani-Kayode, Musiliu Obanikoro and Reuben Abati; and I am quite pleased they are looking cheerful.

“I was also happy with the humility of the acting Chairman who took me round and the way he interacted with the detainees. This is what is important for our country so that nobody takes these kinds of things personal. I am happy I came.

“We are all staff of EFCC to the extent that we want a better country and we are doing what needs to be done. We’ll continue praying that God guides you, keeps you safe and ensure that we build a country that we all will be proud of. This country has suffered so much, but we hope and pray that we can bring the suffering and trauma to an end as we collectively fight corruption.”

Kukah had over the weekend called on Nigerians to work towards the unity of the country, stressing that Nigeria does not belong to Christians, Muslims or any political party.

From Duck To Prison; Fani-Kayode REARRESTED, Judged Ordered Phone Seized
The former director of media and publicity of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 election campaign, Femi Fani-Kayode, was on Friday arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, as he emerged from a corruption trial at the Federal High Court, Lagos.

A former aviation minister, Mr. Fani-Kayode was in court for the trial of the alleged diversion and misappropriation of N4.9 billion campaign fund when he was picked up by the anti-graft commission. Others charged alongside the outspoken former minister were ex-finance minister, Nenadi Usman, one Danjuma Yusuf and a company, Joint Trust Dimension Nigeria Limited.

All the accused pleaded not guilty and had been granted bail.

The 17-count suit was adjourned to November 14 after the prosecution counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo, presented the witness evidence for the day.

But as soon as Mr. Fani-Kayode stepped out of the court room, he was accosted and subsequently arrested by two operatives of the EFCC. He was whisked away in a white Toyota Hiace bus.

Interestingly, the opposition politician on Thursday released a statement about a plan by the EFCC to arrest him today at the court premises.
“I have been reliably informed by my sources within the EFCC that they are planning to re-arrest and detain me again for as long as possible even though I have been granted bail by the Federal High Court in Lagos,” he said.

“Fresh charges were filed against me by the EFCC at the Federal High Court in Abuja on July 7. These charges border on baseless and false claims that I received N26 million from the NSA’s office in 2014. These are politically-motivated charges and there is no truth in or substance to them whatsoever.

“The case has been assigned to a judge and the date for arraignment has been set for November 10 before Justice Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Abuja. My lawyers were in court for the original date of arraignment on October 14 but for some curious reasons the EFCC did not show up on that day.

“The matter was therefore adjourned till November 10 and my lawyers have given an undertaking to the judge to ensure that I am in court on that day. They have also written to the EFCC to that effect and our letter was acknowledged by them.

“Yet the EFCC is still planning to arrest me probably at the premises of the Federal High Court in Lagos if I appear there on October 21 to attend my trial on the trumped up and politically-motivated charges concerning the presidential campaign funds.

“If they do arrest me then they seek to detain me for as long as possible. Whichever way, they will come and I am ready for them. I am not running,” he added.

The last few days have been busy for the controversial former aviation minister. On Monday, his wife, Precious, was briefly held by the law enforcement officials after she tried to withdraw money from an Access Bank account flagged by the EFCC in Ado Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State. She was carrying her 8 months baby at the time.

Mr. Fani-Kayode said EFCC gave no prior notice that the account was flagged and promised to sue the commission and Access Bank.
“She (his wife) has never been formally invited by the EFCC or asked any questions about her transactions and neither have they written to her on any issue even though they are always sending letters to my house and sending people there’.

“We intend to sue the bank and to sue the EFCC for this illegal and wicked action. They have no right to do this. If they want to see my wife all they need to do is to invite her. We have nothing to fear. They do not need to be so primitive and barbaric to people”.

Facts may have emerged why the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, the EFCC yesterday held Precious Chiwendu, the wife to former Aviation Minister and former President Goodluck Jonathan Campaign media director, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode.

According to Sahara Reporters, Fani-Kayode's wife was used by her husband as a front to open two fake bank accounts at Diamond Bank and 15 bank accounts at Guaranty Trust Bank to launder funds for Mr. Fani-Kayode during a time the ex-minister wax

ed strong as the chief propagandist for Mr. Jonathan's re-election bid in 2015.

Mr. Fani-Kayode is currently on trial for multi-billion naira money laundering before a Federal High Court in Lagos.

Precious Chikwendu, a key player in the former minister's money laundering operations, had used the Zenith bank account linked to Fani -Kayode to apply for her BVN. Security agents said BVN checks showed that the woman had been employed by Mr. Fani-Kayode to execute several fraudulent transactions.

In 2015, Mr. Fani-Kayode purchased a Range Rover Sports SUV for the mother of his baby. An EFCC source said the car was a likely appreciation for the woman's role in laundering funds for him.

Meanwhile, the drama of her arrested ensued when Mr. Fani-Kayode's girlfriend arrived in Ekiti and attempted to withdraw funds from an account linked to slush provided by detained former National Security Adviser, Dasuki. The account is part of the subject of the former Aviation minister's ongoing prosecution for fraud at a Federal High Court in Lagos.

It was learned that security officials concluded that an account opened at Access Bank by one "Sonia  Chikwendu Precious," with account number 0024425113, was linked to money laundering. The account was flagged after security and anti-corruption agents determined that it was one of the several accounts into which another former minister, Esther Usman Nenadi, paid illicit funds.

When Fani-Kayode's girlfriend arrived at Access Bank in Ekiti to withdraw funds, bank officials contacted agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The EFCC had earlier instructed the bank to alert security agents whenever anybody showed up to carry out transactions the account.

Our source learned that Ms. Precious was with her eight-month-old baby at the time of her arrest. Our source said EFCC officials in Lagos asked the Divisional Police Officer in charge of a police station near the Ajilosun branch of the bank in Ado Ekiti to release her on bail as EFCC agents in Lagos were unable to get to Ekiti on time to take a statement from the nursing mother.

Our source said the DPO contacted Governor Fayose instead of going to the bank who then rushed to the bank to free Mr. Fani-Kayode's girlfriend. After freeing her from the bank, Mr. Fayose then marched back to the bank premises to close down the bank, swearing that the bank would never operate in Ekiti during the remainder of his tenure as governor.

Several months ago, Mr. Fayose also humiliated Zenith Bank officials in the state, demanding that one of the bank managers go on his knees to apologize for exposing his laundering of slush funds provided for gubernatorial campaign purposes by former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2014.

BREAKING: EFCC Manhandles, Detains Fani-Kayode's Wife, 8 Months Old Baby
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday detained Precious Chikwendu, the wife of the spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential Campaign Organisation and former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, and his son, Aragorn.

Fani-Kayode in a statement Monday evening, said his wife had gone to Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, to see Governor Ayodele Fayose when she stopped at the branch of Access Bank in the town to withdraw money.

The statement by Fani-Kayode suggested that the staff of the Bank invited the operatives of the EFCC who stormed the Bank and detained, brutalized and humiliated Chikwendu.

He said the arrest was an indirect was of getting at him by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The statement by Fani-Kayode, unedited, reads:

This government is sick and cowardly and so are the EFCC. If you have a problem with me face me and leave my family alone.

My wife travelled to Ado Ekiti to see my friend and brother Governor Fayose and his family.

They were on their way out of town when they went to Access Bank in Ado Ekiti to get some money.

When they got there, my 8 month old son Aragorn and wife Precious Chikwendu were illegally detained, brutalised and put under arrest on the orders of the EFCC at a bank in Ado Ekiti today.

She has never had any business with me, she has never been formally invited by the EFCC or asked any questions about her transactions and neither have they written to her on any issue even though they are always sending letters to my house and sending people there.

If Buhari wants to deal with me why doesnt he face me like a man instead of trying to harm and hurt my 8 month old son and wife.

Had it not been for the intervention of Governor Ayo Fayose they would have been taken them away and subjected them to all manner of harm and indignities simply because she is married to me.

This was an account that has 200,000 naira in it and that has never had more than 500,000.

She has operated it since 2005 and she stopped using it in 2013. The account has no connection with me and I did not know it existed till today.

In an attempt to starve and harass me and my family all my accounts and wife’s accounts have been frozen.

Now they are resorting to arresting peoples wives and children for no just cause.

I thank God for Gov. Fayose and the people of Ado Ekiti who stormed the bank and freed my wife from this illegal detention and attempt to kidnap them.

Had it not been for the governor’s intervention and presence, the bank would have been burnt down by the crowd. My family have since left Ekiti State.

This is Buhari’s Nigeria and we will resist his wickedness and tyranny.

We intend to sue the bank and to sue the EFCC for this illegal and wicked action. They have no right to do this. If they want to see my wife all they need to do is to invite her. We have nothing to fear. They do not need to be so primitive and barbaric to people.‎”

He is facing 17 counts of money laundering before the Lagos Division of the court along with a former Finance Minister, Nenadi Usman, Danjuma Yusuf and a firm, Joint Trust Dimension Nig. Ltd.

They were charged with unlawful retention, unlawful use and unlawful payment of money to the tune of N4.9bn.

But in the fresh charges numbered, ‘FHC/ABJ/CR/140/2016’, Fani-Kayode is the sole defendant.

The EFCC filed five counts in the fresh case, in which it accused the defendant of diverting N26m allegedly received from the Office of the National Security Adviser, while Sambo Dasuki was in office.

The EFCC also accused him of using the said N26m without going through financial institution as required under the Money Laundering Act.

The case was mentioned before Justice John Tsoho,of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday.

tinubu and buhari
The present trials of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the colossus of the Southwest is not surprising to those who have vision. I saw it coming and that was why over two years ago, precisely on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, I wrote a back page op-ed on ThisDay newspaper titled 'From Battleground to Common Ground' and in that piece, I said inter alia as follows:

'A comrade is not for what you are for, neither does he share the same interests as you. A comrade is simply one who is against what you are against. In other words, you are bound by a common enemy.

The All Progressive Congress, is a party founded on this premise.

Those who are enemies of the President (Goodluck Jonathan) and the PDP gathered together to form a party whose foundation is their common enemy.

They share no ideological connection, neither are they friends. In actual fact, they may even hate each other, only that they hate the President and the PDP more and are willing to temporarily suppress their hatred for each other in other to gang up against their common enemy.

In my experience, it is better to have a party built on common interests than to have one built on a common enemy. This is because as even a political novice will tell you, there are no permanent friends or permanent enemies only permanent interests.

Now, if the above is true, what would happen to a party that is built on a common enemy?

Parties built on this foundation last only as long as the enemy is in power. Once their enemy is no longer in power the party disintegrates.'

It does not matter if you hate Reno Omokri's guts, but ask yourself if what I said has not turned out to be the truth.

In the space of just a month, Bola Tinubu has been deliberately mystified and treated with such contempt that even those who he considered his worst enemies find themselves feeling sorry for him.

But he should have seen it coming!

The unraveling of Bola Tinubu actually began on the 3rd of June 2016, when President Muhammadu Buhari publicly and right in Tinubu's face told him at a reception the President held for members of the National Assembly at the Presidential Villa that the All Progressive Congress had no such position as a National Leader.

I know this because a Senator who attended the function called me almost immediately after the event and told me about how the hall descended into almost pin drop silence after the President made that assertion.

I can assure my readers that President Muhammadu Buhari would never have made such a remark prior to the 2015 elections. But who needs a piece of toilet paper after it has done its job!

That remark was the signal that sleeper agents  within the APC were waiting for to begin the unraveling of the masquerade.

Teaching him a lesson in Ondo state is only the beginning. Bola Tinubu's comeuppance is not yet complete in the eyes of his traducers.

And then look at the way he is portrayed in  Professor John Paden's biography of the president. Paden portrays Tinubu as a desperate power monger who kept throwing himself at Buhari only to be rejected at each instance. Tinubu, see how low you have fallen!

I do not know why Bola Tinubu is angry at Paden. Did he not read that this was an official biography?

Paden was not there during the horse trading. The book was written with the cooperation of President Buhari. The things he wrote about Tinubu were the accounts he was given by the President.

So Tinubu should call a spade a spade. President Buhari merely told the world what he really thinks of Tinubu.

And look at all the men around President Buhari who got to where they are on the back of Tinubu. Has anyone of them come out to speak in his defense? Where is Vice President Osinbajo? He can blame Jonathan but cannot defend his benefactor. Where is Fashola? He can come up with excuses for giving Nigerians darkness but cannot speak up for his oga? Lai Mohammed is nowhere to be found. Perhaps he is too busy dressing up masquerades or looking for a parastatal under him to loan him some money!

At the end of the day, after all the terrible things the propaganda wing of APC said and did to Ayo Fayose and Femi Fani Kayode, who came to the help of Tinubu but the two men demonized by the very same propaganda machinery that Tinubu helped set up.

And as for Tinubu, I cannot imagine why someone will write a book and insult you in it and still invite you to the launch and you agree to go simply because he is a president.

Even worse, they asked you to write a review for the book and you did! Is this the same Tinubu that was so mouthy under Jonathan? Look at how he has become a chihuahua today. Lord have mercy!

Tinubu! Your Afonja too much!

Did you not see what ex-President Goodluck Jonathan did with the so called Leadership Award. You do not honour a gathering designed to reduce you with your presence. As the late kakanfo MKO Abiola would say 'a man who allows his head to be used to break a coconut may not live to eat it'!

Even the well respected Pastor Osinbajo cannot even publicly come to your defense and tell the truth of how you helped him secure his exalted office. Yet he is the chief beneficiary of your generosity.

My advise to you, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is this: a woman who continues to make herself available to a man that only remembers her when he needs her services to satisfy his lustfulness should not be surprised when her own children deny that she is their mother!

Finally, going forward, before labeling people like Ayo Fayose and Femi Fani-Kayode as enemies, remember that it is better to be insulted with the truth than flattered with a lie.

tinubu and buhari

2019: Fayose, Mimiko 'REALIGN' With An APC Governor To Chase PDP, APC Out Of South-west

2019: Fayose, Mimiko 'REALIGN' With An APC Governor To Chase PDP, APC Out Of South-west

Mimiko and fayose
There are strong indications that Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State and his Ekiti State counterpart, Mr. Ayodele Peter Fayose and probably Dr. Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State are plotting to join force to form another political party in a bid to champion a united course for the south-western Nigeria, News Punch understands

The secret of this new political set up was revealed by a former aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode in his latest article titled "The coming realignment in Yorubaland"

Fani-Kayode in the article x-rayed his admiration for the trio of Mimiko, Fayose and of course Aregbesola. he, however, mentioned that the Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, who recently joined his Ekiti counterpart in the celebration the State 20th years anniversary had told the former that "there will be a realignment of political forces both in and outside of the south-west very soon"

The former Aviation Minister said;
"The other significant event is the  rapprochement and blooming friendship that exists between two sons of the Yoruba both of whom I have immense respect and affection for. Like Mimiko I have a SPECIAL place in my heart for them both and this has been so for many years."
"The first is my brother Ayo Fayose whose courage is second to none and the second is Rauf Aregbesola who is a yoruba nationalist to the core and who is, in my VIEW, the brightest and the best within the ranks of the APC."
"Then comes Rauf Aregbesola who I got to know well in 2013. What I found the most attractive and most extraordinary about him was his loyalty to any cause that he commits himself to coupled with his total and complete faithfulness and fidelity to his political associates and friends and particularly to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu under whom he served as Commissioner for Works."
"Apart from that few know that he is an expert and authority on Yoruba ancient history and this informs and feeds his very rare and distinct sense of Yoruba nationalism."
"I have written about him on several occasions over the years and despite the fact that I disagree fundamentally with him on a number of issues and we do not belong to the same party my admiration and respect for him remains intact and unshakeable."
"We may all have our differences in terms of political party affiliation but one thing is clear: as he rightly told Fayose during their recent meeting in Ado Ekiti a few days ago, there will be a realignment of political forces both in and outside of the south west very soon. There is no question about the fact that he is right about that."
"And when that time comes we all need to wise up, smell the coffee and accept the fact that we must stand together as one in ORDER to defend the interest of our people."
"When the lion and the tiger stand shoulder to shoulder in defence of the castle it makes it very difficult for the jackals and the bandits to mount the walls and take the gates."
Earlier this years, Governor Ayodele Fayose made a surprise visit to Rauf Aregbesola in Osogbo, where both governors had a secret meeting.
The meeting, which was strongly condemned and not well conceived by the All Progressives Congress in Osun.
Just last week, despite the current political differences, Aregbesola also, in a surprise manner, stormed Ado-Ekiti, the state capital to honoured an invitation on the 20th anniversary of the creation of the State. In Ado Ekiti, Ogbeni was quoted to have said "there will be a realignment of political forces both in and outside of the south-west very soon."
No doubt, Aregbesola is a staunch supporter and loyalist of the embattled National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Already, speculations are rife that Tinubu may be plotting a return to the party that earned him the governorship of Lagos State in 1999 over the recent rify between him and the National Chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.

Tinubu vented his anger on Oyegun over his rejection of the  recommendations of the three-member Election Appeal Committee chaired by Mrs. Helen Bendega, which called for cancellation of the poll that produced Chief Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), and the submission of his name to INEC by the National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun was the cause of the cold war betweenTinubu and the latter.

Tinubu, while demanding for the resignation of Odigie-Oyegun, accused the former Edo State governor of treating with disdain the joint petition written by Chiefs Oke, Olusegun Abraham and Senator Ajayi Borrofice rejecting the outcome of the primary that produced Akeredolu.

While the national leader backed Abraham for the ticket, forces in the Presidency supported Akeredolu, who was president of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA).

2019 may be far, but politically it is near. If the realignment as mentioned by Aregbesola sees the light of the day, is Alliance for Democracy the new political frond, or will there be formation of new party? Only time will tell

Don't Join APC To Move Nigeria Forward - 'Wounded' Fani-Kayode Urges Nigerians

Femi Fani-Kayode
Mindlessly saying Nigeria should not move forward, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation has enjoined Nigerians not to join the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in it bid to 'move Nigeria forward'.

Angered as at an individual whom he allegedly said made a false quote credited to him on facebook today, Fani-Kayode said;

"There is a sick individual on fb who has posted some rubbish and attributed it to me. He quoted me as saying the following:
" I think what is appropriate for us(PDP) is to apologize to President Buhari and the APC, then join them to move Nigeria forward"-Femi Fani-Kayode."
"Kindly note that this is FALSE. It is a total fabrication. I never said any such thing privately or publicly and neither have I ever written it or published it anywhere."
"These are desperate and despicable tactics being employed to gather support for themselves by a desperate and despicable government."
"I remain totally committed to opposing the Buhari administration and the APC and I would NEVER suggest to anyone to " join them to move Nigeria forward".

Fani-Kayode, who was recently granted bail and released Friday night, has vowed to fight on.

“I am innocent of all charges and I look forward to defending myself vigorously in court.

“These charges are politically motivated and I have been severely punished for my political views and criticisms of the government.

“They are trying to silence me, break me, discredit me and destroy but as long as Jesus is on the throne this will never work. I am strong and I am bold and the struggle will continue”, he added.

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has vowed not to bow to the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
