Benue Dep. Gov., Benson Abounu Scandalized In Sexual Romance With Police Orderly, Wife Goes Berserk Publicly With Lover

Nigerian Concord - Justice Mary Abounu, wife of the Benue state deputy governor, Engineer Benson Abounu, reportedly slapped her former police orderly, Inspector Jane Agbo, over an accusation that she was having a secret sexual relationship with her husband.

This incident which happened at the Benue deputy governor’s Lodge two weeks ago, Nigerian Concord learnt made the Nigerian Police Command in the state to redeploy the officer back to the Otukpo Divisional Police Station.

According to investigation, Mrs ABounu accused her police orderly, Inspector Jane Agbo who started working with her as an Orderly since when she was a court judge, of sleeping with the deputy governor.

Investigation revealed that the BEnue second lady had at several times confronted her police orderly, asking her to confess if the rumour she was receiving that she was sleeping with her husband was true or not.

However, report stated that Inspector Jane Agbo who is still a single lady denied the allegation and tried on several occasions to make her madam believe that there was nothing between her and the deputy governor.

The straw that finally broke the camel’s back happened two weeks ago when the deputy governor’s wife couldn’t hold her peace.

It was gathered that on that fateful day, Mrs Mary ABounu had asked her erstwhile police orderly to wait behind after their schedules for the day.

While Inspector Agboo was waiting, Mrs ABounu came to her and threatened to assault her openly if she didn’t confess to the lingering rumour that she was sleeping with her husband secretly.

Nigerian Concord learnt that during a heated argument between the two of them, Mrs ABounu slapped Inspector Jane Agbo several times after which she ordered her out of the deputy governor’s Lodge.

It was gathered that Mrs ABounu left a serious instruction that Miss Jane shouldn’t be allowed into the lodge again.

As she demanded, the security operatives at the deputy governor’s Lodge turned the former police orderly back when she came to resume her duties the following morning.

On hearing that, Inspector Jane Agbo returned to the Benue state police headquarters in MAkurdi where she was told of her immediate redeployment to the Otukpo Divisional Police Headquarters.

When contacted on Sunday day, Inspector Jane Agbo who spoke with Nigerian Concord through her telephone number 09053852006, confirmed her redeployment as a result of the heated argument and assault she got from the deputy governor’s wife two weeks ago.

She said it was sad that a woman she had been serving as her police orderly since when she was a high Court judge could be saying all sorts of rubbish about her.

Jane stressed further that she wondered why Mrs ABounu could be accusing her of dating her husband, adding that the deputy governor isn’t her type of man.

Her words: ” I wonder why this woman (Mrs ABounu) is saying all sorts of rubbish just to tarnish my image.

“I have never had any sexual relationship with her husband, and again the man is not even my taste if at all I want to date anyone.

“Although I am a single lady but I can take you or anyone to see my boy friend, and when you see him, you will quickly agree with me that the deputy governor is not my taste”

Asked why she didn’t force her way back into the government House as Mrs ABounu’s police orderly, Inspector Agbo said she didn’t because she was tired of working with her erstwhile boss.

She added that she had been tolerating Mrs ABounu’s excesses right from the time she was serving as her orderly at the high Court.

Jane said she believes the deputy governor’s wife is just telling lies and making false accusations against her over nothing.

She said: “It is a greater sin to maliciously lie against someone than to kill him or her. I have handed madam over to God to do the right judgment.

“I am glad about my redeployment because I am tired of working with a devilish and wicked person like her.

“Let her continue her lies against me but I know at the right time, God will vindicate me. To God who made me, I didn’t have any secret affair with her husband, the deputy governor.

In a related development, Deputy Governor Benson Abounu has threatened to make life unbearable for his wife if she fails to send her current Orderly packing and bring Inspector Jane Agbo back.

According to Abounu in a heated argument he had with his wife last weekend, Jane has been a very trusted and reliable police officer over the years.

Meanwhile, Nigerian Concord learnt that the deputy governor only wants the former orderly back as a way to prevent her from divulging some of the family and government secrets which she is already aware of.

The backlashes generated due to the ungodly sacking of Venerable Femi Taiwo by Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode for allegedly "disrespecting" the governor's wife has reportedly unsettled the Lagos State Government, News Punch has learned reliably

Consequently, the Government, according to a fresh report by Punch Newspaper is putting pressure of the Chapel's leader to issue a statement in support of the Lagos State Government stance.

Punch Newspaper report detailed that on Friday, Nigerians expressed disappointment at the action of  Ambode, asking him to call his wife to order and rescind the decision.

On Saturday, the Lagos State Government, due to the backlash that trailed the report, shifted the thanksgiving service for the Lagos@50 celebration from the chapel to the Banquet Hall, Lagos House, Alausa.

In an interview with our correspondent, Taiwo’s bishop at the African Church, Rt. Rev. Michael Adeyemi, said the church was embarrassed by the action of the Lagos first family.

He noted that Bolanle’s action, in particular, was ungodly and sacrilegious, adding that she must apologise for disrespecting a minister of God due to her ego.

PUNCH Metro on Sunday observed that the incident had taken its toll on the chapel as most members were absent.

During a brief sermon,  one of the church’s pastors, Deji Koko, who claimed to have fainted while ministering during a vigil at the chapel on Saturday, announced a 14-day prayer campaign.

Koko urged the congregation to always pray for their pastors, saying the church was engaged in a battle.

He said, “We must pray. We first had a seven-day vigil and the devil struck back. It is when you hit the enemy that he fights back.

“We again declared a three-day vigil, which started on Wednesday.  I was here (at the pulpit) when I suddenly fell. I heard Baba (pointing at one of the church’s elders) screaming.

 “I didn’t know what was happening again. I was taken to the back.

“The Bible says smite the shepherd and the sheep will scatter. A shepherd has been struck, but thank God we have not scattered.”

He challenged the members to keep holding on to their faith, saying the church would emerge stronger in the end.

Our correspondent observed that the name of the sacked presiding chaplain, Taiwo, which was on the programme booklet, was blurred with a marker.

At the end of the service, the church announced that ‘registered’ members would have a meeting.

A source told PUNCH Metro that the meeting bordered on resolving the crisis in the church.

She said, “At the meeting, your report was mentioned and the church said it had sent a rejoinder.

“It was also agreed that ministers coming into the chapel may need to be educated on protocols because some ministers don’t really know much and may need to be schooled.

“We all are not happy with the removal of the Venerable, but it is appearing that he might not return. That was the reason the church’s attendance was seriously affected today (Sunday). In fact, if you observed, some of the church members were leaving while the service was on. The church used to overflow with people.

“We also finished the service unusually early. Unfortunately, the government and the governing council have been sending some lies to a particular online platform to damage the reputation of Venerable Taiwo. It was among the discussions at the church and we have asked that the issues be put in perspective.”

It was gathered that the governing council and the church’s committee had been under pressure from the state government to issue statements on the incident.

A member of the church told PUNCH Metro that the church spent about seven hours in another emergency meeting over the matter on Friday.

“They wrote down the names of some of the church members that could have possibly leaked the report to the press because the government was seriously embarrassed by the report,” the source said.

A statement, issued on Saturday and signed by 2nd Vice Chairman and Head of Laity, Ayo Obajimi, and the church’s Assistant Secretary, Dotun Okunade, for the Chapel Management Committee, stated that the chapel dissociated itself from The PUNCH’s reports because it enjoyed the support of the government.

It noted that the chapel had a committee that supervised its day-to-day running.

The six-paragraph statement read in part, “We observed that on a previous occasion, and during the anointing service of May 14, 2017, security and protocol rules were breached.

“It should be mentioned that since the commencement of this present administration, the church has continuously enjoyed tremendous support from the state government.

“In view of the above, the church is using this medium to disabuse the minds of the public that the information contained in the said publication is not supported by the church. We affirm that the church will not be part of anything that may embarrass the Lagos State Government.”

PUNCH Metro gathered that the governing council, the Christian Association of Nigeria, The African Church, The Christian Council of Nigeria, would hold a meeting on the incident on Monday (today).

A source said the meeting was scheduled for 11am.

“The intent of the meeting is not clear, but it is after the meeting that we will know the way forward,” the source said.

When contacted, the Chairman of CAN, Lagos State, Apostle Alexander Bamgbola, and CAN’s Secretary, Israel Akinadewo, declined comments over the incident.

“I have no comment, my son,” Bamgbola said.

Meanwhile, the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja, was a shadow of itself on Sunday during the Sunday service as many members of the church did not show up.

PUNCH Metro, during a visit to the church, observed that the chapel was sparsely filled as the service, which usually ended around 1pm, was brought to a close at 11.30am.

Of the 30 church members that were supposed to be part of the birthday thanksgiving service for the month of May, only nine were present.

From the prayer session, led by the Chaplain, Very Rev. Ayo Oyadotun, to the choir ministration, the general theme was overcoming difficult times and fighting forces seeking to scatter the church.

PUNCH Metro had reported that the Presiding Chaplain of the Chapel, Venerable Femi Taiwo, was sacked by the Governing Council of the church allegedly on the orders of the state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

Taiwo was said to have been sacked for “disrespecting” Ambode’s wife, Bolanle.

Bolanle was reported to have attended the chapel on Sunday, May 14, for an anointing service.

She was reported to have stormed out of the church for not being recognised by the chaplain during the service.

By 1pm the following day, Taiwo was sacked and issued a 24-hour ultimatum to vacate the vicarage with his wife and kids.

The government ordered Taiwo’s assistant, Oyadotun, to take over the mantle of leadership of the church.

Morgue Worker Cremated By Mistake While Sleeping

An employee of the Jefferson County morgue died this morning, after being accidentally cremated by one of his co-workers.

According to the Beaumont Police Department, 48-year old Henri Paul Johnson decided to take a nap on a stretcher after working for sixteen hours straight.

While he was sleeping, another employee mistook him for the corpse of a 52-year old car accident victim and carried him to the cremator, World News Daily reported.

Before anyone could notice the mistake, he had already been exposed to temperatures ranging between 1400 to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit and reduced to ashes.

Jenna Davis, one of Henri Johnson’s co-workers, says she heard him scream for about 15 seconds after the crematory was activated.

Ms Davis claims that the young co-worker who caused the accident was a new employee, and had forgotten to check for the toe tag to make sure he had the right body.

The police has opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding Mr Johnson’s death.

Investigators have not ruled out the possibility of filing criminal charges against the employee who caused his death.

The young man could possibly be accused of criminal negligence causing death.

Aigbe also revealed that the last incident started few days before when she discovered that her husband was sleeping with a lady. A lady she claimed to be her friend whom she was close to. This was a regular attitude from her husband; a man she claims has slept with a lot of people close to her, even her PAs.

“My husband was in detention for over seven months and I never left him or go anywhere. Why would I want to go now? He says all this is make-up. He is not showing any form of remorse and still sponsoring lies against me.

He confronted him and it led to a huge argument which was turning violent before she had to keep quiet.

Mercy revealed that it was her refusal to go and pick her husband up while she was still at her designer’s place that brought the fury of the man on her. He was said to have driven there and started to beat her in the presence of everybody.

“Immediately, I opened the door, he kept beating me. I was begging him and asking why he was beating me. He said he would destroy my face such that no make-up would fix it and destroy my career. He was acting like someone who was possessed. I told him “Lanre, mo ma bi mo fun e” (translated as “I have a child for you).
