IG Contracted The New Rivers Police Commissioner To Kill Me; 3 of Them Were Interviewed For The Job - Gov. Wike Alleges

IG Contracted The New Rivers Police Commissioner To Kill Me; 3 of Them Were Interviewed For The Job - Gov. Wike Alleges

NYESOM WIKEIn a very weighty allegation, the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has alleged that the Inspector General Of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Kpotun Idris has contracted and mandated the new Police Commissioner in the state to ensure he is killed.

Wike, in an interview with the Punch Newspaper, revealed that three candidates were interviewed with the mandate to ensure they kill him. But the IG eventually picked the one that said he will ensure he carries out the dastardly act with diplomacy.

The new Police Commissioner posted to Rivers State is Zaki Ahmed.

Zaki Ahmed arrived Rivers state Monday as the 38th Commissioner of Police in the State, taking over from Late CP Francis Odesanya.

Ahmed once served as a Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations in Rivers state before his transfer out of the state.

Until his transfer to Rivers state, Zaki Ahmed was the Commissioner of Police in Bauchi state.

Ahmed hails from Kogi State

In the interview with Punch Newspaper, Governor Wike responded;

"Yes, and he told me he is going to do a professional work and I told him, ‘You, a professional work?’ You can’t be independent and can’t do a professional work. The inspector general of police has given him instructions on what to do. The inspector general has told him he must cage the Rivers State governor. He shouldn’t come and tell me he wants to do any professional work. Who is he to say that?"

He can’t have his own mind?

Which mind? Before he was posted here, he was told what to do. They don’t post people based on competence but loyalty; someone who will do their bidding. Do you know that we are the only state that has had about nine commissioners of police in just two years?

Did he agree with you?

Would he say yes? But I told him and he knew I was telling the truth. When he was going to be sent, there were about three of them that were called, and interviewed. They said they were going to kill me. They took this one who said he would be diplomatic about it. We know. This police commissioner has an agenda; I can’t be deceived. I’m not saying he should go; let him stay. He has been given an assignment to kill me. No problem. No man dies two times.

The inspector general of police couldn’t have ordered a police officer to kill someone, especially a governor.

This inspector general of police said so.

That the commissioner of police in your state should kill you?

Yes, I’m telling you (the truth). The inspector general of police, who removed my security details without letting me know until when I was going out and realised that I had no security personnel. What is the implication of that? When a supposed chief security officer of a state wakes up in the morning and realises that he has no security personnel attached to him, what do you expect? What’s the implication? Danger!

Arrest Illegal Protesters – ASJA Begs Police

Arrest Illegal Protesters – ASJA Begs Police

The Advocates of Social Justice for All (ASJA) has called on the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Kpotum Idris and other security agencies to arrest, detain and prosecute anyone that goes out in the name of the Shiites’ Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) or its subsidiaries to take part in protests in any part of the country on Monday.

The National President of ASJA, Mr. Torkuma Venatius, who made the call in Abuja on Saturday, explained that it is clear the protests planned by the Shiites groups were a cover for mischief and plan to breach the peace across the country.

The Shiites had announced plans to protest in Abuja and other major cities on Monday citing the expiration of a 14-day ultimatum for the release of their detained leader, Sheik Ibraheem Al Zakyzaky as their reason.

The planned protests have been largely overshadowed by an order of the Kaduna state government proscribing the IMN, which it accused of continuing to foment trouble even in the aftermath of a December 2015 clash with the military for which the proscribed Shiite group was indicted.

Venatius said the failure of IMN to call off its protests after the decision of the Kaduna state government signifies the height of irresponsibility and a resolve to test the power of the state since they know that illegal entities would not be allowed to compromise national security by holding protests that are programmed to turn violent.

He noted that “This refusal to call off the protests, even after the Kaduna State Government’s decision is a declaration of war on the Nigerian state and government. It is a matter of time before they start planting black flags on public buildings if they are allowed to hold their potentially violent protests.

“We at ASJA therefore call on all Nigerians with conscience to condemn IMN’s plan breach of the peace without any equivocation. Going ahead with the protests is another example of IMN leaders or the Shiites in Nigeria sending their youths on suicide mission. It is a provocation that is simply not needed at any point in time.

“We therefore urge the federal government to direct security agencies, particularly the police to arrest, investigate and prosecute anyone caught planning to or taking part in the protests since Kaduna state government has exposed them as operating illegally.

“Nigerians cannot continue to live under this increasing threat from the IMN. There are Christians, Muslims, agnostics, atheists, animists and others faiths in the country so we cannot continue to live under terror from just one sect. Their demand that their leader who would likely be facing terror charges once arraigned in court should be released unconditionally is therefore not acceptable.

“We are expecting that the government would try him for the offences he committed just like several groups have been demanding all over the world,” Venatius stressed.

24 Police Vehicles Allegedly Stolen By Out-gone IG Found
24 Police vehicles reportedly to have 'stolen' by the the outgone Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase have been found, barely 24 hours after the Acting Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris accused his predecessor, IGP Solomon Arase (rtd) of moving away 24 Police vehicles including the official IGP Staff Car, which is armoured plated and bullet proof, and the spare staff car, both of which are BMW’s,  so reported Vanguard News.

According to Vanguard News, both cars were sent to an auto repair shop for total and comprehensive repairs for use of the next IGP.

It was rfeported that the cars were sent to Auto Computers located in the Jabi district of Abuja and that the spare BMW car has been completed and repainted. The spare staff car was said to have been having engine problems for the last five years before the last administration sent it for repairs.

A source at Auto Computer told Vanguard that the spare car was delivered to the Police headquarters on Sunday afternoon after completion of repairs and that officials of the company would visit the Acting IGP to demand for payment of the job done.

For the armoured plated Staff Car, it was revealed that because of the high technology embedded in the car, the company will need more time to fix the identified problems of the car as some of the needed parts will be imported.

The source pointed out that nobody approached Auto Computer to ask about the whereabouts of the cars, and that since it was the police that brought them, they (company) just went about their repairs.

When Vanguard sought to find out if the proper procedure of ascertaining location of the cars were followed, it was discovered that the Works Department and the Force Transport Department that would have been approached for explanations were not approached. Rather, the IGP secretariat comprising of newly posted officers, were said to have written the former IGP demanding the whereabouts of the staff cars and other 22 vehicles, some the former IGP was said to have interpreted as a slight on his person.

Further investigation in other relevant departments regarding the whereabouts of other vehicles showed that the vehicles were intact and that while some were deployed for operations, the Police had records of the location of others.

Recall that when news of the alleged missing 24 vehicles made the rounds on Sunday, the former IGP, responded to questions saying the allegations were the handiwork of mischief makers bent on trying to tarnish his integrity. He wondered what he would be doing with 24 Police operational vehicles when he was not operating a car mart

Earlier, Mr. Arase, who is in London for his son’s graduation according to Premium Times in reaction to claim by the new Acting Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris that he took away 24 police vehicle when he retired said in a statement on Monday that every information needed by his successor on vehicles bought by the police were in his handover notes.

He said all vehicles bought by the police under him were distributed to the state commands and other appropriate units of the force.
He also denied getting any letter from Idris since he has been in the UK.

“I suspect there must be a disconnect somewhere because every information needed by my successor are provided in my handover notes,” Mr. Arase said.

“I’m also not aware that any letter was written to me because if there was any dropped in my house, someone would have alerted me.

“It’s unfortunate that this matter is being made a media issue because my successor has my telephone number and could have called me for any clarification or even sent me a text message rather than addressing the media on an issue well documented in my handover notes.”

Mr. Arase’s successor, Ibrahim Idris, had said on Sunday that his former boss went away with 24 police vehicles after he retired from service.

“The last time I followed the President with it, he was asking me, ‘what are you doing with this old car’ because if you see the headlight, the thing has changed colour, which means they parked it and rains and everything had fallen on it, but the new ones that were bought, he (Arase) went with all of them; they are part of the 24.

“I wrote back to him and said, we have a policy that says when a policeman retires, if you are an IG, AIG, a CP, you are entitled to some vehicles; please, the extra, return it. Four vehicles are enough for an average human being, but what will you even do with four vehicles; but he took 24 vehicles, including two BMW cars.
