Tributes Pour In For Grace Omoigui, 82yrs Old Mother Of Ex FIRS Boss, Ifueko Okauru

Tributes from different walks of life: notably from friends, family, colleagues, church members, old students, well-wishers etc.; poured in for late Barr. Grace Omoigui, nee Asemota, the mother of former Federal Inland Revenue (FIRS) Boss, Mrs. Ifueko Omoigui-Okauru ,at the service of song held for her at the popular Eagle club, Surulere, Lagos, yesterday evening,3rd, January, 2017.
The event which started 5pm prompt had the praise and worship heralding all the programme. Family members in Ankara and church members of Mama G as the deceased is fondly called wore white lace and blue gele. The hostesess led by Miss Omo were “T’ shirts with mama’s picture inscribed on it. They welcome and guide visitors to their seats.
Mrs Omoigui’s old students at the Eko Boys High school where she taught them Chemistry in 1967, spoke how motherly she was. And that many years after she had left the school, the old student association saw in her a good matron.
Her old girls at the Federal Government girls’ college, where she was a Vice Principal reeled out how great a disciplinarian she was. To them, the values she imbibed in them as teen came to manifest when they started having their own families.
The Asemota family where she was born into, said that she was a great pillar in the family. She was to them a silent philanthropist and a bridge builder.
Mama G’s first grandson moved in the vote thanks and this was after mama’s 3 year old granddaughter rendered an eulogy.
It was an evening to celebrate her life journey, bids her home and commiserate with the larger family.
Born in Akure in Ondo state, she is survived by her husband of 58 years, Surveyor Daniel Aiyanyo Omoigui, her children – Dr Nowamagbe and Moira Omoigui; Dr Sota and Helen Omoigui; Ifueko Marina Omoigui and Asishana Okauru; Eghosa and Eunice Omoigui; and Nosakhare Omoigui; and grandchildren, Ikponmwosa Omoigui, Ighiwiyisi Omoigui, Ayrton Omoigui, Iyegbekosa Omoigui, Izevbokun Omoigui, Grace Omoigui, Isiuwa Omoigui, Iyare Omoigui, Noe Ter Avest Omoigui, Iriagbonse Omoigui, Anni-Arie Omoigui, and Nete Okauru.
