Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel has arrived in China, ahead of his move to Tianjin TEDA.
The Super Eagles captain has undergone medicals with the Chinese Super League club and is set to sign a £140,000-per-week deal.
TEDA have beaten off competition from Marseille and Valencia to sign the 29-year-old.
The transfer is expected to be announced early next week and the midfielder has already received an emotional farewell from a Blues supporter in Ukraine.
Mikel Obi has just six months left on his deal at Stamford Bridge, but has been given permission to speak to clubs since December, with Chelsea willing to let him go for free.
The 29-year-old has not played a single game under Antonio Conte, who took over as manager last summer.
At Last, Mikel Obi's Dream To Join Manchester United Almost Done

Should report according to the Sun UK newspapers is anything to go by, then Nigeria's Captain and Chelsea's prolific out of favour midfielder, John Obi Mikel may be on his way to join Coach Jose Mourinho in Manchester United.
According to The Sun UK's report, Jose Mourinho intends to sign Chelsea and Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi in January.
Mourinho feels Mikel, who has a few months left in his Chelsea contact, will help improve Man U's midfield and is prepared to sign him in January when he knows he'll come cheap. Read the full report, after the cut.
Mikel, 29, has not played under new Stamford Bridge manager Antonio Conte and there are no plans to renew his contract which runs out this season.
Now the Man united boss is ready to take advantage with a cut-price New Year offer for the player the Red Devils thought they had signed ten years ago.
Mikel had just turned 19 when the Old Trafford outfit announced on their website that they had signed the teenager on a four-year contract from Norwegian club Lyn Oslo. The £4million transfer was done directly with the player and his club — bypassing his agents and he was even pictured in a United shirt. But Chelsea angrily claimed they had an agreement with the agents to buy him.
It was reported Obi started to get threatening phone calls and ended up having to take refuge in a safe hotel with a security guard.
He then went missing from Lyn amid stories he had been kidnapped.
The Nigerian midfielder had actually travelled to London where he went on Sky Sports TV to claim that he had been pressured into signing for United, something they denied, and he wanted to join the Blues.
The matter was resolved when Chelsea paid United £12m and Lyn £4m.
Ex-Manchester United defender Paul Parker has questioned where Paul Pogba will fit in at Old Trafford, arguing John Obi Mikel is a better holding midfielder than the France star.
Pogba recently became the world's most expensive player when moving to United from Serie A champions Juventus for £93.8m on a five-year deal.
The 23-year-old is set to make his first appearance for United since leaving them in 2012 against Southampton in the Premier League on Friday, but it remains to be seen which position he will operate in.
Pogba was used as an anchoring midfielder for France at Euro 2016 but Parker does not believe he is good enough in the role.
“Can he be as good as Roy Keane or Bryan Robson? I wonder about him playing that midfield role,” said Parker, speaking exclusively to 888Sport.
“I worry about him making tackles and getting across to close players down because he is rangy. He doesn’t have quick feet and his game is about going to ground. That’s going to be a problem.
