MMM Begins Payment, Issues Fresh Guidelines

MMM Begins Payment, Issues Fresh Guidelines

MMM Begins Payment, Issues Fresh Guidelines
MMM Nigeria, the most popular ponzi scheme in the country, has started paying outstanding mavro (money) to participants of the scheme, TheCable reports.

Kolade Ogunwande, a participant, who manages a number of accounts, told TheCable on Friday that N17,000 was paid into one of the accounts he handles for a friend.

“One of the accounts I manage for a friend finally got paid. She invested N20,000 on November 10, 2016, and her money has appreciated to N35,000,” he said.

“When MMM resumed last week, she said I should withdraw all the money for her, which I requested for immediately. She was paired the day after.

“The two people she was paired with had to pay N17,000 and N18,000 to make up the N35,000, but only one person has paid.”

Meanwhile, the scheme on Wednesday issued new guidelines on its blog. The guidelines are:

1. As a necessary measure, we decided to set limit to withdrawal this week thus the N31000 maximum withdrawal on your PO.

2. We are still committed to prioritise paying smaller amounts first and gradually increase the amount to higher ones.

3. The system does the calculations and knows how to calculate everyone's mavros.

4. Between Friday that we opened and today, hundreds of thousands of GH orders have been matched.

5. More and more GH orders will be matched as time goes on. If you see error notification when trying to GH, just keep trying.

6. PH to GH is still a suggestion to be tabled before Sergey Mavrodi for consideration. Disregard any info suggesting that you must PH to GH till further announcement in your PO.

7. Freezing of bonuses for now is another suggestion to be tabled before Sergey Mavrodi for his consideration. Which means if approved, you will only be able to GH your personal contributions for now until the system recovers and stabilizes.

8. Another suggestion for consideration is whether Mavro growth should stop on the 30th day or continue till you GH your confirmed PH.

9. How early the system recovers depend on our positivity. If we work to make it recover, it will recover in a very short time. Don't spread panic.

10. Let's do more promo tasks to create further awareness that MMM Nigeria is open, working and paying.

11. We will keep you informed of any updates as soon as possible.

FRESH Panic As MMM Shocks Participants, Cancels Payment Requests

FRESH Panic As MMM Shocks Participants, Cancels Payment Requests

MMM Nigeria
Punch Newspaper - The joy of participants (Mavrodians) in MMM over the return of the scheme on January 13, a month after it froze their accounts, has turned out to be shortlived as they have been fed excuse after excuse.

On Tuesday, four days after its return it cancelled all (GH) requests by participants to get their money back, creating panic once again.

“MMM has crashed o. Mmm deleted automatically every GH request few minutes ago. We are stranded now,” a participant, who did not want his identity disclosed wrote in a message to PUNCH.

But the scheme had another excuse ready; a system upgrade is to be blamed. It explained that the site was not fully shut down for the upgrade because that would cause panic.

They said, “Please note that the GH orders were not cancelled because if cancelled, you will see it at the right hand side as deleted. It was removed because of the following reasons:

There is an ongoing upgrade because programmers are always working on the MMM system every day so the promised New Model can be unveiled as soon as possible.”

It added, “There is no cause for any alarm over the removed GH orders, if you check your Mavro, you will notice the value of the removed GH order has been restored and had also increased though it is still showing pending withdrawal.”

But for many participants, there was call for alarm. For instance, a user pointed out that contrary to the claim in the statement there was no pending sign on his account.

“My mavro isn’t showing pending o. And I hope the order will be restored automatically when they are done because I can’t start waiting for another week to get paired, haba,” a participants complained in response to the post.

Another participant told one of our correspondents that while the GH requests were removed, the provide help function was still active.

About three million Nigerians, who are believed to be participants of the illegal scheme, had received a shocker on December 13 when their accounts was frozen with one suicide attempt reported.

At the time, those behind the scheme blamed the freeze on bad publicity and the need to prevent technical challenges that may be occassioned by the Yuletide rush.

They also promised to be back stronger on January 14, insisting that the scheme had not crashed as was widely reported.

Upon the ‘return’ of the scheme 24 hours ahead of schedule many Mavrodians had broken into wild jubilation, mocking the country’s financial sector regulators and Nigerians who had made fun of them for falling victim to one of the world’s biggest financial scams.

January 13 and the rest of the year belonged to Mavrodians they concluded, taking to the social media and posting videos of the celebrations. One Mavrodian hit the studio and posted a video of him singing, “MMM is back again/my salary is back again/my house rent is back again.”

The joy is turning out to be premature. MMM came back with new rules and most of all frustration for many who had seen their financial calculations rubished in December and their plans, including at least one wedding plan, truncated.

Heartbreak, Hope Dashed As MMM Nigeria Help Providers Shrink As It Returns

Heartbreak, Hope Dashed As MMM Nigeria Help Providers Shrink As It Returns

MMM Nigeria Victims
The hope, euphoria which greeted the news of the unfreezing of Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox, a ponzi scheme popularly known as MMM, may have subsided as a result of the dearth of people willing to provide financial help.

Subscribers to the scheme had gone into wild jubilations as news of the unfreezing of the scheme filtered through, 24 hours earlier than the Saturday 14, 2017, return date announced earlier.

It was gathered according to Sunday Sun that many intending help providers on the scheme may have developed cold feet in pumping money into the scheme, as the list of people seeking to be helped has continued to grow.

A subscriber, who simply gave her name as Mrs. Olanrewaju said to our source that she was still taking her time studying development on the scheme before deciding on whether to provide help or not.

Olanrewaju, who described herself as one of the lucky beneficiaries of the scheme, said: “I had provided help on a number of occasions and got rewarded accordingly. In fact, the scheme was suspended last year shortly after I got rewarded for the last help I rendered. But one needs to be cautious in a situation like this because one cannot really be too sure. I am still watching to see if I will still continue,” she said.

Sunday Sun also gathered that many subscribers who had indicated interest in getting help were yet to be matched with prospective help providers more than 24 hours after seeking to be helped.

This development, according to a participant, Patrick Usenu, may not be unconnected with the fact that many potential help providers might be reluctant to put their money into the scheme because of uncertainties.

“In spite of the assurances given that the scheme will not crash, people still feel they must exercise restraint in order not to lose their monies. Unlike what was obtainable before now, people are only eager to seek help and not to provide help. I have spoken with some people who are into it and what they told me is that they have only sought help; none of them has told me that he or she would provide help. And I want to believe that explains the reasons most GHs are yet to be matched,” he said.

However, another participant, who simply gave his name as Seun, said getting matched with a help provider was not immediate. According to him, “it may take up to 48 hours before a GH gets matched with a PH. At the beginning, the duration of getting matched was very short. In fact, it was less than a day ,but as the platform continued to attract huge traffic, they continue to delay in getting people matched.

“It is wrong to attribute the delay being experienced to the claim that people are not willing to offer help. I know two people who have offered to provide help but who are yet to be matched with those who need help,” he said.

Over three million Nigerians who subscribed to the scheme were thrown into panic and confusion a month ago when the operators of the scheme announced temporary freezing of the scheme, citing heavy workload on the platform and attacks from the media as the reason for the freezing.

The message, which assured subscribers of its return on January 14, 2017, promised to pay every subscriber as soon as the suspension on the scheme is lifted.

But while announcing its return last Friday, operators of the scheme had announced that the scheme would attend to small investors first, while subscribers with bigger financial commitments would have to wait a bit longer.

A message on the official portal of the scheme read: “Please, be prepared to wait for a couple of days. We are certain things will then calm down, and the system operation will return to normal.

“We’re the ones setting limits, so it’s completely under our control, and we are not expecting any emergencies in principle. Have no fear and go on about your business as usual.

“As the system is socially oriented, we will make paybacks to the poor and the economically disadvantaged in the first place; it means to the members with small PH (Provide Help) amounts. The richer can wait. Moreover, we’ve warned you repeatedly to only provide help with amounts that are not critical for you.”

BREAKING: MMM Nigeria Returns, Unfreezes Participants Accounts

BREAKING: MMM Nigeria Returns, Unfreezes Participants Accounts

MMM Nigeria
Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox (MMM) in Nigeria has announced that they are open for business, a day earlier than the promised date, January 14, 2017.

A ‘freeze’ was put on the ponzi scheme in December 2016.

A tweet from @MMMNigeriaHelp reads: “This is to officially inform you that MMM Nigeria is open for business a day earlier than promised! Let’s go there Nigerians!”

The update was accompanied by a press statement, where the administrators explained why they are back before the due date.

It reads: “We are now open!!! :-))

“Dear members,

“The holidays are over, and we”re now open. Just as promised. (You might have already noticed that we always stick to our promises. :-)) Actually, we promised to be open on January 14, but we”re open now, January 13, as you can see, which is a day earlier. (Well, I hope, the members of the System will forgive us for that. :-))

“It’s related to the hysteria raised by the authorities and the mass media around MMM. By joining forces, they”ve managed to nearly give the members of the System a heart attack and have frightened them out of their wits. Poor souls don”t know what to expect. Will we open again or not? :-))

“This is why we”ve decided, considering the situation, to reach out to the members, reassure and cheer them up by opening a little earlier. After all, Together We Can Change The World! :-))

“Here we go.

1. As of this notice, MMM resumes its usual operation. You can now create your GH-requests.

2. However, it”s obvious that panic will reign in the first few days after the re-opening of the System. We’re likely to be deluged by GH-requests. Therefore, we”re going to make gradual paybacks by setting internal output limits. In other words, we will only pay a certain amount per day. Please, be prepared to wait for a couple of days. We are certain things will then calm down, and the System operation will return to normal.

“We’re the ones setting the limits, so it’s completely under our control, and we are not expecting any emergencies in principle. Have no fear and go on about your business as usual. :-))

Moreover, we”ve warned you repeatedly to only provide help with amounts that are not critical for you. Therefore, if these large amounts are not critical for them (the richer), they can wait a few days. No need to be tragic about it. :-))

“This is the way it’s going to be.

“Hoping for your kind understanding, Sergey Mavrodi. We Change The World!

“P. S. I’d like again to call on the authorities and the mass media: Please, leave us alone! Have mercy on people.”

However, following complaints by some participants that they cannot ‘Get Help” (GH), another update was sent.

It read: “Note that you can now see your available for withdrawal amount but Get Help button is not active to create GH orders now. Pls be patient!”

MMM Is Fraud, Be WARNED - CBN Cries Out

MMM Is Fraud, Be WARNED - CBN Cries Out

MMM Nigeria
Punch Newspaper - The Head, Consumer Protection Department, CBN, Hajiya Kadija Kassim, stated this during a mentoring programme for students of the Government Secondary School, Suleja, Niger State.

The mentoring programme, which was held simultaneously in over 200 schools, was part of activities to mark the World Savings Day.

The apex bank’s warning is coming at a time when the huge unemployment situation in the country is making a lot of people to take interest in an online investment scheme tagged: ‘MMM Federal Republic of Nigeria (nigeria.mmm.net)’.

The platform has embarked on an aggressive online media campaign to lure the investing public to participate in what it called “mutual aid financial network,” with a monthly investment return of 30 per cent.

Kassim, while responding to a question asked by one of the students, described the scheme as fraudulent since it was not supported by any business model.

She said, “We have heard about the activities of MMM, but I want to warn you against it because they are wonder banks that are not regulated.

“Desist from their activities because they are fraudulent.”

She said the theme of this year’s World Savings Day, ‘Don’t save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving’, would assist in creating the needed awareness on the need to save.

She added, “The World Savings Day is a tradition created with the objective of stressing the importance of savings for modern economies and individuals alike.

“The primary objective is to increase awareness on financial literacy among various segments of the general public to sensitise them to the importance of saving, earning a livelihood, inculcating a savings habit, and generating employment and entrepreneurship for personal and national development.”
