Oluwo Of Iwoland Launches Self-Sponsored 'Operation Zero Potholes' On Iwo-Osogbo Road

In a bid to complement the  laudable work of the state government of OSUN, the Oluwo of Iwoland , Oba AbdulRasheed Adewale Akanbi is set to embark on the patching and filling of the potholes along the Iwo-Osogbo road. A project he will personally finance.

AbdulRasheed Adewale Akanbi,Oba AbdulRasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu I in a statement issued in his palace and made available to News Punch said the road which has been abandoned for years has crippled the economy activities of Iwoland and other neighboring towns along the axis.  

He said the road in question serves as the gateway to the OSUN state capital must be put into good shape. It must be in good condition.



"We have to understand that self-help is the best help.  And even community works/engagement precede the advent of government", the King said

Oba Adewale Akanbi said the enormity of task on government is too much to leave all to the government.

"The Government can not do everything for the masses. There is need for the community to come around and compliment the activities of the government. The Government can't do it alone."

He, however, called on all sons and daughter, association and groups, well-meaning individuals to contribute to the project to support the project.

"This is to call all the various groups in Iwoland, the Christian Association of Nigeria, Isokan Muslimu of Iwoland, Tawun, The NURTW, RTEAN, Tippers Association, Okada Riders Association, Bricklayers Association, Quarry Association and all other groups to come out and support this project."

"This project of filling the portholes along Iwo-Osogbo road will keep off on Saturday  15th of October, 2016 at exactly 8:00 am."

"All sons and daughters of Iwoland is called upon to support this project. The importance of this road to the economy of IWO and the entire state of OSUN can not be overemphasized."

"Let's come together and get this project done. Let's support this project with necessary materials and in person."

"If you're willing to assist in whatsoever in making this project to come to reality,  you can walk to the palace and meet Kabiesi in person."

"Iwo kọ́ni bá jẹ ooo..." he concluded
