The Peoples Democratic Party has won the supplementary rerun election held in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The election, as usual, marred by bloody violent. An INEC Officer's hand was chopped off yesterday.
The party, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission, won the Federal House of Representatives seat and the State House of Assembly seat that were in contention.
Returning Officer for the Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency election, Professor Shola Omotola, announced on Sunday that the All Progressives Congress got 6,220 votes while the PDP polled 15,221 votes.
With the declaration of the result, Jerome Eke of the PDP defeated his closed rival, Ogbonna Nwuke of the APC
However, the Returning Officer for the Etche State Constituency 2 election, Oluwatosin Odusanya announced that the PDP scored 4,162 votes to defeat the APC, which polled 1,618 votes.
Based on the result announced, Tony Ejiogu of the PDP won his challenger, Golden Chioma of the APC.
But the State Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, condemned the act of trying to subvert the will of the people through INEC result manipulation with the support of security agents.
The governor said Rivers people would continue to resist fraudulent attempts to manipulate election results.
He declared that elections could only be won at the polling units and not through the swapping of result sheets by security agencies and INEC.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission has announced the release of its employee who was kidnapped by suspected political thugs during Saturday’s supplementary rerun election in Etche, Rivers State.
INEC in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer in Rivers State, Tonia Nwobi, denied that one of its staff lost a hand to the violence that erupted in some parts of Etche during the election.
The commission added that as of the time of issuing the statement, all 745 employees mobilised from Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Cross River States had returned to the collation centre.

Fresh report according to Punch Newspaper suggests, the police authority has just dismissed an Inspector and five sergeants attached to the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, over alleged misuse of firearms during the legislative rerun in the state in December last year
The affected officers according our source are ex-Inspct. Eyong Victor, ex-Sgts. Peter Ekpo, Oguni Goodluck, Orji Nwoke, Okpe Ezekiel and Tanko Akor.
The errant operatives were said to have stormed the Port Harcourt City Council Secretariat and prevented the movement of election results of Emouha polling unit to the appropriate collation centre designated by the Independent National Electoral Commission in disobedience to senior officers present.
Their actions were said to be contrary to the provisions of Force Order 237.
Parading the former policemen on Friday in Abuja, the Force Public Relations Officer, Donald Awunah stated that despite strict warnings from the Inspector-General of Police that all personnel on election duty should be of good conduct and desist from escorting their principals to polling units throughout the period of the election, the recalcitrant operatives were found blatantly breaching the directive.
This, he added, was unacceptable by all standards in the Force, noting that in the course of discreet investigations, the dismissed personnel were found to have in total disrespect to orders and directives, compromised, engaged in unprofessional acts and other unbecoming conduct.
Awunah said, “These aforementioned police personnel while in the convoy of the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike on the date of election on December 10, 2016 misused the firearms in their possession contrary to the provisions of Force Order 237.
“The personnel became overzealous, took laws into their hands and opened fire, causing panic in the crowd.
“They joined in storming the Port Harcourt City Council Secretariat and prevented the movement of election results of Emouha polling unit to the appropriate collation centre designated by INEC, in flagrant disregard and disobedience to senior police officers present at the venue.”
The spokesman stated that the operatives, after the conclusion of investigation into the public mischief, were subjected to internal disciplinary measures, found guilty and consequently dismissed from the Force.
“They will be prosecuted under the Electoral Act to serve as a deterrent to others,” he stressed, noting that the personnel’s misconduct, if not checked could be inimical to discipline and proper administration of the Force.
Awunah added, “Their actions are capable of bringing the entire Nigeria Police Force to disrepute and portray the Force in a very bad light as a lawless organization not guided by the rule of law.”
The former policemen protested loudly against their dismissal as they were taken away in handcuffs.
Rivers Rerun: Gov. Wike's Leaked Audio Tape of Bribery And Threatening of INEC Officials Sparks Fresh Thong-War
News Proof 16.12.16 No comments Edit Post
Controversy has greeted a leaked audio recording in which a voice bearing a striking similarity with that of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, was heard admitting bribery and threatening to kill electoral officers in the December 10 rerun elections in Rivers State.
The All Progressives Congress on Thursday said the leaked audio recording confirmed its worst fears that the elections were rigged.
It noted that revelations contained in the said recording, made public by an online newspaper, Sahara Reporters, on Thursday, provided evidence of alleged unwholesome practices.
The party also said the audio recording was a pointer to the fact that the governor might have compromised the integrity of the electoral process and the integrity of his office as Chief Security Officer.
This was contained in a statement signed by the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, in Abuja.
He said, “The leaked audio recording showing the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, admitting to bribing some electoral officials and threatening to kill them if his instructions were not followed, has confirmed the fears raised by the All Progressives Congress in the countdown to the recently conducted December 10, 2016, legislative rerun elections in the State.
“Going by the revelations from the leaked audio recording, it is obvious that Governor Wike might have engaged in unwholesome conducts that might have compromised the integrity of the electoral process and undermined his office as the Chief Security Officer of a state.
“The only logical conclusion from this, therefore, is that the electoral victories of the Peoples Democratic Party might have been achieved through underhand dealings and intimidation of officials.”
The statement recalled that the APC alerted security agencies to reports of massive arm build-up and sinister plots by Wike and the PDP.
It said, “On December 6, 2016, the APC alerted security agencies to reports of a massive arms build-up and other sinister plots that Wike and the PDP planned to execute on the day of the legislative rerun elections in Rivers State.
“Nigerians have watched with grave concern how the process of the just concluded legislative rerun elections has led to the deaths of ordinary citizens in the state, including security officers. The statement that Governor Wike appeared to have made on the record has now pointed directly at where responsibility should be placed for the violence that attended the election.”
The APC also argued that the audio recording provided evidence that the allegation by the Rivers State Government and the Peoples Democratic Party of an assassination threat on Wike and the allegation by Wike that APC governors funded violence in the state during the election might have been deliberately contrived to hide the role the governor played in the violence that attended the election.
It also urged security agencies to do the needful and ensure that the sponsors and perpetrators of violence, no matter how highly placed, were brought to justice.
But the Rivers State Government has denied the allegation that Wike threatened to kill an official of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The Rivers State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Austin Tam-George, said on Thursday that the governor never made any contact with INEC officials in person or through the telephone.
Tam-George argued that the online outfit, Saharareporters.com, engaged in an audio impersonation of the governor, using a voice changer technology.
“We categorically deny these latest allegations as a sick fabrication, an outright lie. Governor Wike never made any contact with INEC officials in person or by telephone.
“Saharareporters.com is the online propaganda bullhorn of the All Progressives Congress. Their publications are typically false and the writers are professional hawkers of fiction.
“No one would have thought that the APC and its cowardly media allies would resort to an audio impersonation of Governor Nyesom Wike, using a voice changer technology.
“The voice changer technology is often used by teenagers mainly in South Korea and Japan to launch innocent technological pranks at each other, mainly for laughs.
“The APC and Saharareporters.com are inmates in the prison of their own lies. We reject the latest blackmail by the APC,” he added.

RIVERS RERUN: Watch SHOCKING Raw Video Of SARS Police, Akin Fakorede Hijacking Election Results
News Proof 15.12.16 No comments Edit PostVIDEO CAPTURE OF AKIN FAKOREDE TRYING TO HIJACK ELECTION RESULTS HAS VINDICATED ME SAYS GOVERNOR WIKE
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that the government and people of the state would no longer play host to the Officer in charge of Special Anti-Robbery Squad ( SARS ), Mr Akin Fakorede as he is a threat to the security of the state .
The governor who said that he has been vindicated , pointed out that Akin Fakorede is one of the two police officers who are perpetually engaged in professional misconduct in Rivers State . The Second Officer is the Assistant Commissioner of in charge of Operations , Steven Hasso .
Addressing journalists in Port Harcourt on Tuesday following the invitation of Mr Akin Fakorede by the Police High Command after he was spotted in a viral video leading SARS Personnel to invade the Rivers East Senatorial District Collation centre , Governor Wike said that from all indications, the SARS Commander was transferred to Rivers State to destroy the security architecture of the state .
The governor regretted the invitation extended to the embattled SARS Commander to Abuja is merely aimed at sweeping the crime against democracy under the carpet. He said that providence has made it possible for the SARS Commander to be captured on video battering electoral officials and attempting to hijack election materials and results.
“It is unfortunate that the Force Public Relations Officer would sit in Abuja and claim that the men who invaded the Rivers East Senatorial District Collation Office were not policemen. “The Electoral Officer who was beaten up was clearly seen in the video holding unto Akin Fakorede . This is very shameful .
The police we have today is not the police that we use to know.
The police we have today is not the police that we use to know.
“It pains me that this was the man that I have complained about to the Inspector-General of Police and anyone who cared to listen is doing a hatchet job in the state”. The governor stated that if left in the state , Akin Fakorede would continue to connive with Armed Robbers and cultists to compromise security in the state.
He said even during the March 19 Rerun elections , Akin Fakorede played very negative roles which necessitated his transfer back to the state.

SHOCKER: See Gov. Wike Caught On Tape Arranging With INEC Official To Rig Rivers Rerun With Threat To Kill.. Raw Tape Here
News Proof 15.12.16 No comments Edit Post
Sahara Reporters - Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has been caught on tape as he held a telephone with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), arranging payment to the officials in exchange for their help in rigging the recently concluded legislative elections in the state.
The telephone conversations, exclusively obtained by SaharaReporters, revealed the governor arranging with INEC officials, particularly those sent from Plateau State, to rig the election for candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Etche, Khana, Ikwerre and other key local government areas in the state.
One of Mr. Wike’s phone calls went to a female INEC official who was complaining that the money offered by the governor was not sufficient for the rigging task. An infuriated Governor Wike told the woman that he had already paid the electoral coordinator in Plateau State.
At one point in the conversation, when Governor Wike was told that one of the electoral officers was reluctant to sign one of the result sheets, the governor threatened to demand his money back from the recalcitrant official. Then, as if not satisfied with his threat to collect back his money, Mr. Wike voiced his intent to kill the official, stating that the man would not leave Rivers State alive.
The chilling telephone conversation has exposed the inner workings of Mr. Wike’s scheme to rig the recent election in his state and also the collusion of INEC officials in the illicit deals. Besides, the governor’s intimation of violence also pointed to the possible bloody nature of the games played between politicians who fund the rigging of elections and the electoral officials who facilitate the scheme for quick, and often substantial, cash payments.
SaharaReporters spoke to a top INEC official in Abuja who and he confirmed that most of the electoral officers who conducted the recently concluded legislative elections in Rivers State were drafted from Plateau and Oyo States. He added that some of the electoral officials were also drafted from one of the Southeastern states.
