I'll Transform Anambra To Outclass Lagos - Senato Andy Uba

I'll Transform Anambra To Outclass Lagos - Senato Andy Uba

Senator Emmanuel Nnamdi Uba
He is, of course, a household name in Nigerian politics, Senator Emmanuel Nnamdi Uba currently representing Anambra South at the Senate has vowed to transform Anambra State from it present status to a state capable of outclassing Lagos among others if elected the next Governor of the State.

The Senator in a telephone chat with News Punch Publisher said his sole aim of joining the gubernatorial race of Anambra is to ensure the total transformation from its present state of shamble to a state where there will be massive employment for the youths and the unemployed; aggressive infrastructural and economic development, with prioritized focus on qualitative, yet affordable education for all in consonance with the manifestos of his new party, the All Progressives Congress, APC.

He, however, lamented how poorly the state has been manned by the incumbent administration, but vow to turn it around if elected come November 18th, 2017.

The Anambra south Senator said; "My heart is heavily grieved looking at the present state of infrastructures in Anambra State; the roads are bad, youths unemployment level alarming, education in total shambles, nothing seems to be working in my state at the moment, but God helping, should I emerge the next governor, all these will be a thing of the past. I will declare a state of emergency especially on unemployment, agriculture, and education"

On how he intends to win the APC governorship primary, Senator Uba said he has been in the game of politics for so long, being a former Governor of the State and currently a senator of the Federal republic of Nigeria, he is leaving no stone unturned.

"Since my defection to the APC," he continued, "I have been working tirelessly to ensure I emerge victorious to fly the party's flag for the November election, I have no iota of doubt, I will win. Despite my popularity within and outside the state, I have started working from the grassroots level, preaching my manifestoes and what I am capable of doing to lift Anambra to her deserved height if elected,"

When quizzed why he dumped the opposition Peoples Democratic Party PDP, a party he had worked and serve for many years, the distinguished Senator Uba said prominent among reasons why he left the party is to avoid the reoccurrence of Ondo scenario where the party leadership tussle jeopardized the winning chances of the party.

"No doubt I am one of the prominent founding members of the PDP, but I defected from the party to avoid the repeat of Ondo scenario where the party candidature was uncertain until few days to the election due to the leadership lingering crisis. In the APC, there is no such, if you win the primary, you win, if you don't you don't, the party is united, focused, and ready to take Nigeria to the greater height. So, I decided to join the APC," he concluded

Andy Uba, born 14 December 1958, elected Senator for the Anambra South constituency of Anambra State, Nigeria, in April 2011. He was running on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) platform before his defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress in February 2017. Before then, Uba was elected the Governor of Anambra State in 2007.
