All is now set for the 2016/2017 Eko Football Female Championship as the momentum gathers with a seminar tagged 'Lagos For Her' Season 2.
The epochal seminar holds next week Wednesday at the Molade Okoya Indoor Sports Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. It will see Ms Nkechi Obi, CEO, Nigeria Women League Board, Dr. Oluyomi Oluwasanmi of the Lagos State Sports Commission and Ann Chiejine, Super Falcons Assistant Coach make presentations to the over 1000 participating girl students.
The seminar with the topic ; 'Cultivating Confidence, Self Respect and Assertiveness' will start at 11am prompt with the first paper to be presented by Ann Chiejine.
Speaking ahead of the seminar, Chairman, Lagos State Football Association, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi stated that the seminar became necessary because as the theme indicates, it is important to create a pool of not only talented footballers, but equally educated and confident young ladies.
Akinwunmi, who doubles as the 1st Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation also informed that the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule will lead other top career women to the event.

The games at the on going Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon, has been described by fans and pundits as lacklustre and without excitement.
Matches in the foremost continental championship has also produced few goals and with somewhat tepid performances by teams including defending champions Cote D'Ivoire.
Responding to probings on the quality of play in Gabon, particularly, with the absence of Nigeria at the championship, National Chairman of Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Rev. Sam lkpea, remarked that the standard of play has been below par, citing the absence of the Super Eagles as the major reason.
" Beyond being patriotic, l think the whole world, particularly, Africa, are missing the Super Eagles. You know, this team is unique and anywhere and anytime they play, the quality of soccer display and the excitement they showcase is unequalled, " Ikpea said.
" Much more, African football are also missing the glitz and glamour and world class supportership of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, "he added.
On his part, Nigeria's Pillar Of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike, stated that African football are truly missing Nigeria and the excitement her footballers bring to competitions.
" It is a shame that Nigeria is not participating in the championship. The quality of play and the competitive level of the championship would have been top notch, " Ejidike, who doubles as the President of the Karate Federation of Nigeria, stated.
He went on to add that the Super Eagles would definitely bounce back to reclaim its pride of place on continental and global football.

EPL: Nigeria's Ademola Lookman Scores As Everton Downs Man City 4 - 0

Nigeria's Ademola Lookman registered himself on the scoresheet as Everton mauled league favourite, Manchester City 4 goal to none in the Sunday English premier League game.
City suffered another blow to their title hopes on Sunday when they lost 4-0 to Everton.
Romelu Lukaku, Kevin Mirallas and Tom Davies were on target for the Toffees in a simple victory for Ronald Koeman's men, before Ademola Lookman's luxurious fourth.
Everton had the advantage after 34 minutes when Mirallas took it past Yaya Toure before finding Lukaku, who smashed it past Claudio Bravo.
It took just two minutes of the second half for that lead to be doibled, with Ross Barkley setting Mirallas up to send it low into the net.
In the 80th minute, Everton killed the visitors off as Davies chipped it beyond Bravo for his first senior goal.
And when Guardiola's men thought the worst had gone past them, up stepped Lookman to add a fourth for his side.

BBC - Lead striker Diego Costa has been left out of the Chelsea squad to face Leicester on Saturday after a dispute with a coach over his fitness.
The Spain international has not trained this week and has not travelled for the Premier League leaders' match with the defending champions (17:30 GMT).
The news comes amid reports he is the subject of an offer to move to China that would be worth £30m a year.
Costa, 28, has scored 14 goals and provided five assists this season.
It is understood Blues owner Roman Abramovich is not interested in releasing him from his contract, which expires in 2019, and would not entertain the idea of being forced to do so.

The African Chapter of National Wheelchair Softball Association based in Lagos, has made a clarion call to the sports ministry, as well as other well-placed individuals and corporate organisations to come to its assistance as it bids to make the sport properly grounded in the country.
Speaking in at a media parley, the President of the Wheelchair Softball Association in Africa, Jude Uwazie, lamented the seeming apathy to disabled athletes and the nonchalant attitudes to their welfare.
"I am not happy that the government and the corporate world seem not to care about the welfare and life of disabled athletes in this country, " Uwazie cried.
According to him, the newly introduced wheelchair softball in the country, would provide opportunities to disabled athletes to express themselves in another form of sports, rather than struggle to make impacts in the other saturated sports.
"Wheelchair Softball is the milder version of the popular base ball. This is a sport that helps the reflexes and movement rhythms of the players.
Speaking also on the game,Australia based renowned wheelchair basketball coach Tope Ogunyemi, enthused confidently that the game of wheelchair softball has the potentials to grow in the Nigeria , as well as, bringing honours to the country.
The National Chairman of the Wheelchair Softball in Nigeria,Muhammed Audu, as well as, the chief coach, Richard Olisa, opined that the game is a perfect fit for disabled athletes in the country to make fame and fortunes for themselves and country.

The National Chairman of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Rev. Sam lkpea, has commended telecom giants, Globacom for a successfully held awards ceremony.
Speaking with the press after the event to celebrate the best of African football , he expressed his satisfaction with the improved standard of the event, particularly, the glitz and glamour that heralded the world class football showpiece.
"I want to commend the Confederation of African Football and particularly, the sponsors, Globacom, who are also our major sponsor and partners in the progress of Nigerian football, for this world class event, " Ikpea said.
" This event is a further attestation to the facts that African football is in good hands. It also shows that the coming generation of footballers on the continent would soon begin to take their rightful positions in world football, " he added.
Ikpea who also doubles as the patron and major sponsor of the Cerebral Palsy Football Association, further enjoined well placed individuals and corporate organisations to support the development of sports in Nigeria. Adding that such would go a long way to reduce youth restiveness and also ensure the the emplacement of a healthy society.
