OLUWO: A Rare Monarch Who Turns Palace To Food Bank For The Poor, Orphans

OLUWO: A Rare Monarch Who Turns Palace To Food Bank For The Poor, Orphans

Oluwo of Iwoland, His Imperial Majesty (HIM), Oba (Dr. ) Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu I
Seeing smile on the people`s faces is what gives me joy. Taking care of the present so they can be better through healthcare, food and infrastructures is my target as a traditional ruler. I worship God through service to humanity and that is my utmost priority, my own private jet, my maybach and all luxuries of Life” Oluwo.

The primary duty of a  competent leader, call it traditional, religious or political, is enveloped in breeding the air of hope, the means of surviving, leveling without prejudice particularly the neglected scavengers subjected to no or little means of income.

The Holy books, Quran and Bible explicitly narrated the attributes expected of a leader. And many of the past highlighted religious leaders who we presumed to be perfect role model of any performing front horses are undoubtedly deserve our encomium of merit. I t is of note to acknowledge if there exists replicate of such monarch in a soloist higher abject society like ours (Nigeria).

When you see any monarch registering his wealth for the poor, note him, he is not an ordinary man but a prophet. Here comes one of them, father figure, the first class paramount ruler, Oluwo of Iwo. The best of you should embrace and promote his intention for a greener morrow.

Oluwo of  Iwoland, His Imperial Majesty (HIM), Oba (Dr. ) Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu I, in his magnanimity less expected of a traditional ruler initiated a free feeding tagged Oluwo Food Bank for the vulnerable: orphans, have not, less privilege and the scavengers in Iwo, his immediate domain.

The succor (feeding) was designed to identify with the poor to feel belong as one of the future asset of our society. Most times, they are marginalized and loathe as an insignificant segment of the society. Worst more, they are restricted from social gatherings and discussions, look upon as inferiors with no respect attach to their presence. Oluwo felt bashed and thought of how they can be reconnected to the society.

He propagated food bank wherein nutritious meals are made three times every week under the supervision of a qualified personnel who inspect and monitor the content of the meal before its external distribution. The meal is served every Monday, Wednesday and Friday of the week.

Full of passion for his children, Oluwo frequently mingle with them, have handshake, jolly talks, offers advice and pray for their survival to become governors, lawyers, engineers, accountants, doctors, professors and many more. In one of his address to those children, Oluwo was quoted saying:

You are the best I am afraid of.  Why? Some look down on you as nothing, but we have among you a first class asset that will hold the destiny of this land into their hands in the nearest future. If I say tomorrow, I am referring to you and it shall be well with you. Had it been some of my prosperous sons benefitted such when they were young, who knows may be they would have been more patriotic? Oluwo.

His eyes see the best, his leg purifies the route, and his mouth is commandment while his actions are progress. Oluwo food bank, apart from identifying himself with the less privilege, also reduced the rate of pilfering among the teen and under teen. The assemblage of those children turns to counseling school wherein the monarch ignites their hope.

Even, when Telu is out of the country, the feeding continues unceasingly.

The spiritual aspect of Oluwo, By Ali Ibrahim

The spiritual aspect of Oluwo, By Ali Ibrahim

The exceptionality of development-oriented messiah of respective domain is the strangeness of their rare appearance.  That accounts for the reason why such personality is an expensive gem, once in a blue moon messenger and committed soul concomitantly improving peoples` living standard. Worthy of note is the mysterious and bizarre combination most of these gems are made of. The subjects, stooges and generation of such messenger are one of the luckiest beneficiaries. Among the timed generation are the indigenes, visitors, traders and external publics of Iwo, an ancient city in Osun West Senatorial District of Osun State. Few of those rare committed soul is the first class paramount ruler of Iwoland, HRM Oba (Dr) Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi,  Telu I.

I named him “DIVINED MONARCH OF THE MASSES”. Why? Everything about him is message, not for the fools but for the wise. Contest one of his styles and I tell you where you belong.

It is of note that the facilitator that engineered the formation of Iwo was a female monarch at Ile-Ife. Her name was Luwo Gbagida, the first female Ooni and 16th Ooni of Ife. He commanded her son, Adekola Telu to leave Ife with crown and settled at a place where he sees speaking objects not human being. Of great surprise is the peculiarity of 16th in the coming of Telu I, the 16th Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Adewale Akanbi. The uniqueness of the monarch calls for suspicion between and among those who could read between the lines. The natural law of synchronization stays and abides with Oba Akanbi, Telu I of the progressive Iwolites.

Oba Akanbi, the active Oluwo of Iwoland is the 16th monarch of the ancient city, an unplanned coincident with his mother, Luwo Gbagida, the 16th Ooni of Ife. Just like Gbagida, Oluwo stool has been managed by the past 15th crowns. Succession upon succession produced Oba Akanbi as the 16th occupier of the stool. His installation was greeted with resounding applause sensing the blessing attached to the coming of a spiritual monarch of Iwo. The first class ruler is an asset of many developmental colours. He compromised his policies but not his principles to lubricate the promotion of his domain. Oluwo, whom I tagged “The Monarch of Number” is exceptionally blessed with divine commandment which is product of holy crown. Everything about him is message, even to the blind, the deaf and the dump. If you accused him of much expression, have you forgotten Iwo is home of parrot. Oluwo is miraculously blessed and guided with 16.

Inadvertently, Oba Akanbi coronation was held on 16th Januray, 2016 even without his consent. As an observer, I noticed there must be message. Since then, prior to my appointment as his Chief Press Secretary in  February this year,  I visit him on 16th of the month occasionally for his royal blessing. Undoubtedly, he was sent for a purpose. The purpose of which is pure, undiluted and rare mostly among his colleagues. The divined spirituality of Oluwo is incontestable and was further affirmed in the power of 16th, the pure holistic 16 and not the ritualize 16.

Taken aback, the new gift (son) from the Creator to Oluwo was catapulted to the earth on the 16th November, 2016, most bizarre indeed. To establish his leadership role model, Oluwo named the child Oduduwa.

I will warn the readers of my composition to restrict my monopolized advantage of royal blessing of 16th of every month to myself. Otherwise, my office will beseech Oluwo to declare holiday for himself on every 16th. The spirituality of Oluwo`s making is surrounded by the date and should not be taken with levity by the indigenes, visitors, traders and external publics of the town (Iwo). Some observers have posited that every Iwo market day that falls on 16th witnessed exceptional turn out.
Today, with the 16th Oluwo of Iwo,  HRM Oba (Dr.) Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, Oluwo has recorded unprecedented recognition and landmark achievements propelled by the monarch. Oba Akanbi has rehabilitated ten 10-year abandoned road (Iwo Osogbo road), commenced meals distribution for the less privileged, inaugurated children day celebration, provides jobs for the unemployed, procured health facilities worth billion to the state hospitals, patches potholes in Iwo, registered Iwo to the outside world and many more.

Recession: Oluwo advises FG to industrialize economy

Recession: Oluwo advises FG to industrialize economy

The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu I, has charged the Federal Government to urgently begin the process of  industrializing the nation.

In a statement by his Media Adviser, Oriyomi Akinbote, the monarch said it has become very imperative that the government formulate a policy to consider industrialization of the nation as topmost priority to help the national economy get out of recession.

The Oluwo, who also advocated for outsourcing and involvement of Nigerians in diaspora in implementing the policy for it to have a significant positive effect on the nation's ailing economy, maintained that it was time President Mohammadu Buhari and his team looked beyond agriculture for the survival of the economy, both in the short and long runs.

According to Oba Akanbi, the nation has no excuse to allow non performance of the economy despite its huge population and diverse mineral resources in the bowels of the land.

The first class Yoruba monarch said Nigeria has a great lesson to learn from the history of China on how it emerged a leading world economy from obscurity in the non too distant past through creative management of its resources, particularly her huge population.

Describing industrialization of the economy as the panacea to numerous challenges facing the nation, he noted that many jobs, direct and indirect, would be created and the youths would be meaningfully engaged and consequently reduce the evergrowing crime rate.

He said: "As much as I believe that agriculture is good and lucrative I don't think it would give us a reasonable speed as the industrialization in firming up the ailing economy. Let's think about how industrialization has brought an unprecedented high turn over of jobs and revenue into the coffers of the Chinese government lately. Many American and European companies now have their plants in China because of many economic advantages - cheap labour and other incentives from the Chinese government which give them the leverage to be competitive in various world markets.

"Nigeria could do the same as China and also beat China because of additional opportunities that we have. We have abundant raw materials to support our production lines. The population is there for us as the biggest black nation with a huge home market for end consumers and also for export to other African nations and the rest of the world. Nigeria unlike China is also strategically located and closer to Europe and America, where investements could be attracted.

"So, I want to advise that we leave tiling of the land for our neigbours like Niger Republic, Mali,  Chad and so on and let us focus industrilization because of its many inherent advantages. Nigeria does not have sufficient lands for agriculture but we do for factories and industries that can employ more than agriculture. For instance, the size of Nigeria is not up to a province in Canada and many states in America. Our children will also learn technologies when they work in some of these factories once they have their plants here."

Oba Akanbi advised President Buhari to leverage on the warm reception and confidence of the international community in his administration's anti-corruption war and quickly move to attract investments beyond the shores of the nation.

He further advised Mr. President to collaborate with traditional rulers, whom he said could facilitate large expanse of lands in their domains for factories and industries to operate.

The traditional ruler, who urged the Federal Government to systematically improve infrastructures, said experience has shown that foreign investors are ready to come forward once they know there would be incentives from the government, including tax holiday and other necessary supports.

He added that many of the prospective investors could go as far as providing solutions in the immediate for teething challenges that could impede their operations once their overheads are nothing compared with their net profits.
