Corpse's Lips, Nose, Eye MISSING In Osun Hospital, Doctors, Nurses ARRESTED

Nigerian Pilot - Osun State Police command have apprehended a doctor and three nurses of Tinu-Ola Clinic and Maternity Centre located at Owode-Oluode area of Osogbo the Osun State capital over the disappearance of some parts of a woman who died in the hospital.

Nigerian Pilot Saturday gathered that the 60-year-old woman identified as Madam Raji had been rushed to the hospital on Wednesday night by one of her grandchildren for treatment of her ailment.

It was said that Madam Raji had been admitted into the hospital and a boy was asked to stay with her while other relatives went home.
It was gathered that the nurses who were on duty on Thursday morning had informed the boy that madam Raji had passed on and that he should go and inform other members of the family.

When late Raji’s family members stormed the hospital to claim the corpse, they discovered that the deceased’s lip, nose and eye had been chopped off.

Our correspondent learnt that the family members had accosted the nurses on duty to explain what had led to the missing parts but one of the nurses claimed that it was rat that fed on the parts.

Our correspondent who visited the hospital premises discovered that the hospital had been under lock and key while some people were discussing the incident in hush tone.

Speaking with one of the children of the deceased who identified herself as Waliyat, she explained that all the body parts of late Raji were complete before she was brought to the hospital expressing shock over the sudden disappearance of the parts of their late mother overnight.
According to Waliyat, “We are so surprised to discover that the lower lip, nasal cartilages and the side of the eyes have been cut out in the hospital.”

Meanwhile, our correspondent gathered that all the workers in the hospital including a doctor have been taken to Dugbe police station in Osogbo.
A visit to the Police Station by our correspondent revealed that the arrested hospital workers have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department of the Police in Osogbo for further interrogation.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mrs. Folashade Odoro did not answer calls put to her telephone by our correspondent.
