NOT SECURITY: Top SECRET Why Tuface Actually CANCELLED The Rally ...The Secret Powers-play, Pressure From His Mother

Tuface idibia
Rather than security reason given by the ace hip-hop artist, Tuface Idibia as why suddenly canceled his much talked anti-Buhari Protest, a fresh fact has emerged that the reason is far more than what he said.

Report according to Daily Post suggests that Tiface mother, Mrs. Rose Idibia was behind the cancellation of the protest.

In an Instagram post and a short video via his official handle @official2baba late Saturday the musician attributed the cancellation to “security reasons “.

The protest, was scheduled to hold in Abuja, Lagos and other parts of the country on Feb 6.

He said, “Dear Nigerians, due to security concerns and public safety consideration, I hereby announce the cancellation of the march.”

The decision came a day after Laolu Akande, a senior special assistant (media) in the presidency said that Tuface, had the right to protest.

Akande stated this on his tweeter handle: @akandeoj;

“It is fundamental right of the people”.

“This administration will not prevent Nigerians from expressing themselves in peaceful protests”, he said.

The planned protest gained momentum with several public figures and civil society groups pledging to be part of it on Monday.

Tuface called for nationwide protest against what he claimed as the worst economic crisis in the country which saw the costs of goods and services skyrocketing, with many families struggling to survive.

The Police had ealier warned against the protest after its initial promise to provide security.

The police commissioner in Lagos, Fatai Owoseni said the police would disallow the protest to hold on grounds that it could be hijacked by hoodlums and it is illegal.

Police authorities said they had “credible intelligence” that other groups were planning a counter protest on the same day and at the same venues, saying the event could turn violent.

In a new development, fresh revelations have emerged on the real reason music star, Innocent Ujah Idibia, otherwise known as 2face canceled his planned nationwide protest.

2baba shocked many of his fans when he took to his Instagram page to announced the cancellation of the much-talked about protest, citing security concerns.

However, findings according to Daily Post suggests that his mother, Mrs. Rose Idibia was behind the cancellation of the protest.

The singer had announced few weeks ago that he would be leading other entertainers to a nationwide protest to draw the attention of the relevant authorities to the untold hardship the current administration has subjected the nation to.

Following the announcement, the federal government warned him to rather express his grievances via a national broadcast instead of organizing a protest at a time the security situation in the nation was unstable.

The Lagos State police command had also vowed to stop the protest, claiming that the singer never took permission from them.

An insider hinted this newspaper that 2face’s mum who doubles as Vice Principal at Cherryfield College, Jikwoyi Abuja warned his son to hands off the protest.

“His mum was behind the cancellation of the protest. She was angry because 2baba (Innocent) never asked for her opinion before he went on air to announce the protest. His mother summoned him and asked him to call it off because he has nothing to gain from it, rather he would buy enemies for himself,” a source said.

It was also gathered that some powerful Nigerians in the corridor of power have mounted pressure not only on the musician but also his mother and the result was what Tuface did at the 11th hours

Barely 48 hours to the much-talked nationwide protest, a Nigerian hip-hop artist Innocent Idibia, better known as TuFace, has backed, News Punch has learned reliably.

Tuface made the cancellation declaration via his instagram and twitter handlepage

Mr. Idibia had been under tremendous pressure since announcing his plans for a nationwide protest in conjunction with a civil rights and democracy advocacy group called Enough is Enough Nigeria (EiE).

Government officials had accused Mr. Idibia of acting on behalf of corrupt politicians facing prosecution or the prospect of prosecution by the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

The musician’s critics cited the car gifts he received from former Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom during Mr. Idibia’s wedding.

Other critics noted that the reported decision of Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State to back the protests and possibly attend, cast doubt on the neutrality and the credibility of the musician’s initiative.

When our source contacted Yemi Adamolekun of EiE Nigeria, she restated that the protests would go ahead in different cities across Nigeria, especially Lagos and Abuja, regardless of TuFace Idibia’s decision to pull out.

Mr. Idibia had said in several statements that his protest was to draw attention to the widespread suffering and deepening poverty in Nigeria.

The musical artist, whose song, “African Queen,” earned him wide recognition in Africa and beyond, canceled his planned protest late Saturday evening, claiming that his decision was based on security fears that hoodlums might hijack the planned protest.

The musician’s statement echoed the sentiment of Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni and another release from the Nigerian Police headquarters. Mr. Owoseni had drawn criticism a few days ago when he threatened to arrest Mr. Idibia, asserting that police authorities had received intelligence that some hoodlums would seize the protest as an opportunity to unleash mayhem.

After much criticism, the police soft-pedaled and offered to provide security personnel to ensure that the protests did not lead to chaos or criminality.

Anti-Buhari Protest: Tuface Bows, Police Shifts Ground As Both Reach Truce
The Lagos State Police Command yesterday rescinded its threat to stop the anti-government protest slated for Monday by pop star TuFace.

The two sides met yesterday and resolved to modify their hard line  positions, according to

Police Commissioner Fatai Owoseni.

Owoseni explained that the police were concerned about the safety of residents of Lagos , including the protesters and would not want anything untoward to happen to them.

He said: “We had a meeting with the protesters and we explained to them why we advised against the protest. A pro-government group wants to protest that same day and we don’t want a situation where there would be friction.

“We also don’t want hooligans to hijack the process and injure the protesters.

“ After explaining to them, they said they will go back and discuss with others. They said if they decide to go ahead, they won’t demonstrate  but would assemble at a point and read their demands.

“That notwithstanding, we have resolved to provide security for them. It is our responsibility and we won’t shy away from it. We will  ensure trouble makers do not hijack the process.”

The  Presidency also declared that it has nothing against the protest  and that Tuface and other Nigerians are entitled to express themselves in peaceful protests.

The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Vice  President, Yemi Osinbajo, Mr. Laolu Akande said on his Twitter handle that the Buhari Administration  ”will not prevent Nigerians from expressing themselves in peaceful protests, it’s a fundamental right of the people.”

He added: “No govt has ever laid out the kind of Social Investment Prog, the Buhari govt is now running across the nation, that will touch millions.”

Tuface Protest: APC, PDP Unites Against FG

Tuface Protest: APC, PDP Unites Against FG

Tuface
In an unusual and rare manner, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have united in voice by criticizing the move to stop a nationwide peaceful protest spearheaded by a pop musician, Tuface Idibia, billed to take place this weekend report according to ThisDay Newspaper suggests

The protest rally which is being planned to take place simultaneously in some major cities across the country, including Lagos State, Abuja and Asaba, is seen as an avenue provided  by the organisers to enable Nigerians voice out their worries over hardship in the land.

However, against the background of reports yesterday stating that police authorities in Lagos had warned that it might not allow the protest to hold, both the APC and PDP were in agreement on opposing the police move, saying it would amount to a breach of the constitution to carry out such an order.

The National Publicity Secretary of the  APC, Mallam Bolaji Abdulahi, said there was nothing wrong in people holding peaceful protest under a democracy, ThisDay Newspaper report

He said the party was not opposed to any form of expression of opposing view point by anyone so far it is done in a peaceful and non-violent manner and did not constitute disruption of public peace.

“For us, it is about the constitution of Nigeria, Tuface or any other citizen of the country has the right to stage a peaceful protest, that is the position of our constitution. We as a party will not be part of anything that will abridge or take away the right of citizens to protest, especially in a democracy.

The APC spokesman justified the party’s position by saying it would be wrong to stifle peaceful protest since APC benefitted from such citizen’s right to expression of dissent during its days as opposition party.

“We have as a party benefited greatly from citizen’s right to express their democratic rights and our being in government is not going to change that orientation to promote the liberties and right of citizen hold dessenting views,” he said.

On what the party would be advising the security forces and the organisers of the protest to do under the circumstances, the party spokesman said: “Well I don’t know exactly what the police are saying about banning the protest.  I think what the police will probably be saying is that they are concerned about the issue of safety and threat to lives and property in the course of the protest.

“There are always fears that hoodlums might hijack a peaceful protest and use the opportunity to perpetrate violence on innocent citizens. I suspect this might be the consideration of the police.  But this should not be good enough reason to deny citizens the full enjoyment of their constitutional rights however they wish to express them.”

Speaking on the motive of such protests and whether it  would  impact negatively on the image of the federal government controlled by his party, Abdullahi said: “ We believe that protests are a form of feedback, although we may not agree with the grievances but at same time, it may be an opportunity for us to communicate more about what we are doing that the citizens may have had sufficient information on. It may an opportunity for us to give better clarification on what our government is doing.

But fundamentally, it will be a form of feedback for us to do more in citizen’s engagement and enlightenment and to focus more on our commitment to the promises we made to our people. I do not see it as anything that is antithetical to our democracy.
But on its part, the PDP described the reported ban of the protest as an undemocratic act which should be resisted.

The PDP spokesman, Dayo Adeyeye, who spoke with THISDAY on the matter, urged the protesters to defy any such order by the police, adding that stopping people for engaging in peacefully assembly is not only undemocratic but against the spirit and letters of the country’s constitution.

“It is illegal and very undemocratic, the people have the right to protest, the freedom of assembly and freedom to protest are two strong ingredients of a democracy. In America, people have been protesting everywhere and nobody has made any effort to curtail it or to ban them or prevent them from holding.

“People have the rights to peaceful assembly and people had the right to protest under the previous regimes of Presidents Goodluck Jonathan, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and Olusegun Obasanjo, how could these people now want to stop peaceful protest. These were the same people organising protests in those days against PDP governments.

“This shows clearly that we are now under a dictatorial regime. It is an illegal ban and I will urge the organisers of the protest to go ahead with it and defy the police ban because it is wrong.
In an effort to shore up, the federal government yesterday approved a new tax regime, just as it announced its intention to raise taxes on luxury goods.

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) also approved the pursuit of an initiative to force down the prices of food in the country.
But the PDP spokesman reacted to the move to force down food prices as attempt to bring back an archaic economic policy that didn’t work many years ago.

“This is part of the archaic economic policies of President Muhammadu Buhari that he implemented during his first time in power as a military man. We are back to that again. It never worked  and can never work.

“We are not in a communist country, prices of goods should be determined by demand and supply, market forces simple. You cannot force it, there is no way to force it. So the Minister of Finance should be better educated, it will not work and the policy is dead on arrival. You cannot force me to sell at prices below my cost price,” he said.

Tuface Rally: Genuine Or Counterfeit, By Goke Butika

Tuface Rally: Genuine Or Counterfeit, By Goke Butika

Tuface Rally: Genuine Or Counterfeit, By Goke Butika
I am in support of the Tuface led rally against President Muhammadu Buhari administration, for Nigeria cannot continue to remain stagnant just because we should display unalloyed love to a man with Spartan discipline. A leader must be morally upright, but it takes more than morality to govern a nation that is as complex as Nigeria. The rally is timely and needed if and only if…

Of course, Nigeria was in bad shape when the former President, Goodluck Jonathan relinquished power, and it was obvious that the nation had been badly looted before President Muhammadu Buhari took over the mantle of leadership in 2015, but it is disheartening to see the country that was craving desperately for change in all motion without movement.

The ecstasy that trailed the defeat of Jonathan and ascendancy of Buhari was very sprawling. The poor were celebrating because, they were subjected to untold oppression by the hat-wielding clueless leadership; the disadvantaged fed themselves with hope as breakfast; the unpaid workers breathed in on the fresh air the change of power brought along; students thought they would now have value for their time and money in schools. For months, it was the joy of having a new Sherriff in town.

Unfortunately, Buhari who appears as a moral figure together with his brilliant vice, Yemi Osinbajo, whose priestly honesty is not in doubt came at a time their job could not be envied. Nigerians were earnestly expecting much delivery; people wanted to sacrifice to make the nation work; workers were ready to wait; the poor and unemployed were bidding for time to realize their potentials. Nigerians waited patiently for action, but the hope which was served as a breakfast is fast becoming a bad dinner, and the elasticity of the patience of the people is getting to the limit of its stretch.

I know as much as anyone who reasons from his head not anus, that being a moral figure does not automatically lead to prosperity of a nation, and for any President or governor to succeed in governance in 21st century, such a leader needs a long table with people who are compliant with the demands of 21st century. It is not a rocket science, let a man who has requisite qualification with impeccable character man Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), he would work out modalities to use for the stability of the foreign exchange; using the same mono product Lamido Sanusi used to do the yeoman job, but Emefiele appointed by Jonathan does not belong to that class, he is a Bureaucrat in banking sector who only knows how to fix and withdraw forex. Unfortunately, Buhari is too archaic to know the modern economies.

Our leaders do not read. If my President had read Adams Smith’s Wealth of Nation, he would have shown Emefiele the back door for long. Another disaster was that the President assembled some individuals who had bankrupted their states with inexhaustible greed and misapplication of priorities as Ministers, and that was after the nation had been kept waiting for the news of the new breed. I foreclosed any possibility of positive change immediately I saw the names of tired hands Buhari hired. To the best of my knowledge, it was a misstep that threw his government off balance.

Agree the nation is foisted with “feeding bottle” federalism, where all states must go to Abuja cap in hand every month, but it beholds on any thinking governor to know that there is a lesser honour in beggarly allocation. For whoever chooses to run for the seat of the governor, it is expected that such an individual should first figure out how funds to execute his promises should be unearthed. Is it not stupid to attribute non-performance or poor delivery to dearth of allocation from Abuja? But that is the music on the lips of our governors today.

In Nigeria, we have learnt how to celebrate electioneering campaign with fanfare, but we have not understood how to deliver on promises using “bottom-up” approach, where the very people we want to govern would be at the centre of the government programmes. Quite pathetic, the poorest of the poor, the rejected and the oppressed who wield only one power-vote, have still not realized how to use it, rather they would be looking for another set of rich men who would give them money for insalubrious soup in exchange for their votes in the next election.

So, the problem with Nigeria is a collective wreck, and it takes a concerted effort to retrieve this nation from the cliff of poverty and crime, because it takes two to tango. For the reason stated above, let the Tuface led mass protest hold; let some experts in economy speak there; let the selfless youth and the genuine activists speak; and let others with moral ground address the rally, but if people like Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state or chieftains of any political party raise their hands, then it would not be recognized as genuine protest, but carnival of sort.

TeeBillz, his manager and lover at the time).

Banky Well i n g t o n known by his showbiz moniker, Banky W, the president of EME label, was Balogun’s best man at the lavish shindig. Not in a hurry would one forget the glitzy account of that celebration of love. The fairy tale wedding was organised by an upscale events planner, Elohor Aisien of the ‘Prive Events’ fame, and to the admiration of all was Tiwa Savage resplendent in Vera Wang wedding dress, Joyce Jacob’s make-up with her hair embellished by Debola Falana while the groom clad in Mai Atafo’s suits posed amid the drooling of eligible and waiting spinsters.

The spectacular gig became the envy of others. They’d perhaps watched their co-travellers, Annie and Innocent Idibia who had wedded in the Arab city of gold just a year before and resolved to give the industry what to talk about for years to come.

You see why cynics were quick to conclude this marriage is but a farce? It was barely five months after the honeymoon that the cynics’ claim got validated. Words had travelled far and wide that the marriage was in tatters and it all sprang from a story posted online by a blogger, Kemi Filani, on September 26, 2014, which reads; “Bad news guys! Tiwa Savage and hubby, Tunji Balogun, are having issues.

“I have got some bad news guys and yes the parties involved can deny it but it’s TRUE! Heard this last night but didn’t put it up till I was able to do some little confirmations here and there…Tiwa Savage and Tunji Balogun’s marriage is heading for the rocks, but I pray they are able to manage the situation well…they are undergoing some serious marital crisis.”

Their marriage is barely five months old… but Tiwa can’t hold it in anymore, she’s tired of putting up with Tunji. He beats her etc… so many incredible stories I can’t even put here and it all revolves around her money. Three different sources in their inner circle confirmed this. “Kemi it’s nothing new abeg.

We were shocked when she accepted to marry him, he’s been beating her even before he asked her to marry him, but love is stupid sometimes.she agreed to marry him fine, we said ‘okay, do a private and not a big wedding in case things fall apart, but they said no…it’s money sharing formula that is worrying them,” one of the sources in the circle confidently told me. Today is Tunji’s birthday and although congratulatory messages have started pouring in, Tiwa is saying nothing and that’s ‘kinda’ unusual of her.

Also, she has sacked him and got herself a new manager too, someone else now answers as her manager. If you have noticed, since they attended the Nigerian Entertainment Awards in New York, Tee Billz and Tiwa have not been spotted together, nor have they shared pictures of each other on their respective social media platforms. Tiwa performed at her Africa Unplugged concert in London and the husband wasn’t there, and the same was the case at Mo Abudu’s birthday party and Senator Ita- Giwa’s daughter’s wedding.”

Filani’s account turned out to boast of some shreds of truth as Savage would later announce that she’d got a new manager, Emeka, a young man by the alias, ‘Mekka Millions’. But the ploy seemed like one to taunt Balogun because Mekka Millions was actually one of his acolytes.

Since then, the two were hardly ever spotted together. But weeks after Savage had sacked her husband as manager, they were spotted together at a Sunday service held at the House on The Rock Church, Lekki, Lagos where they fellowship. Savage, who had remained disturbingly silent over the matter would later shock everyone with a witty reaction, and it reads; “All sales are final.

No exchanges, no return, which means you MrBillz @teebillz323 cannot return me to my parents or exchange me.” In a previous report, Saturday Telegraph had published that the first cold war between the couple could have stemmed from the new wave of distrust that festered between the couple.

From the grapevine, it was gathered that Savage was irked by the manner her husband had been managing the family’s finances. it was learnt on good authority, that Savage was rude to Ayo Animashaun, the owner of Hip TV because the latter had breached their agreement to pay N2million for the exclusive coverage of their wedding.

Obviously disappointed and embarrassed, Animashaun told Savage her husband had been paid. Apparently Savage had no knowledge of this hence her reason to begin to probe other transactions handled on her behalf by her better half.

This and more evidently explain why Savage relieved him of one role (manager) and permitted him to continue with the other (husband). Two days ago, the hell was let loose with a damning revelation TeeBillz had made about his wife on his Instagram page. His unedited lamentation partly reads:

“Lord knows I tried. I can’t take it anymore. I decided that I wanted to take time out from music business so you and I will not be in the same basket of music industry. You never supported me from day one. Every move I made and every project I laid my hands on was going bad. Thanks to your mum’s witchcraft! Tell her to confess to you. Tosin Yusuf a.k.a. Omawumi’s husband.

I wish I met you earlier when I just moved to Nigeria. You have been a great friend and brother too. I should have done this two weeks ago, but the joy of being around didn’t let me. You have a wife that did not let the music business to take the best of her. I know how Mrs. Yusuf treats us when we are at your house.

I feel very at home and pray that my wife can get a life and be like this. All she cares about is her next single, her makeup, hair and brand. Pls. tell the world, have you asked your husband in the last three years if he has eaten? Thanks to Annie Idibia and Anita, my neighbours, that provided home cooked meals for me when I needed.

Yes you became the bread winner when I decided I’m not in business with you again. You will never have peace except my spirit forgives you. Tell your mother to confess what she mounted in the house for you to shine with my star. It is deeper than what you think. Within what period of time did you fuck Jazzy and Dr. SID but I didn’t care because of the love I have for you.

I looked at it that we all have a past even when at this same f**king time you were f**king with 2face.” And the tears flowed accompanied by words: “Lord knows I tried. The woman I gave everything has mentally tortured me. I’m not perfect but I am far away from being the best husband.

When I didn’t have, you paid the bills and you took my manhood away. You’ve thrown my clothes out of the house more than five times but because of the love I have for you and Jamal I still came back. I don’t want to go through divorce like my father who has been married for four times. Your mother humiliated me so much that I didn’t care. Please just take care of JamJam.

I sacrificed my life for you, put in work and my money to your success. You are Tiwa Savage, the superstar now. You will never have peace with that fame. Your mother wants to turn me to what she turned your dad into? I would rather die.

Ask her to confess what she has done to me!” The tension wasn’t doused as quickly as many would think, so Banky W, replied to one of his posts: “TJ, Please, please call me back right now.” Shortly after, it was reported by Linda Ikeji that TeeBillz was sighted on the Lekki- Ikoyi toll bridge, Lagos, about to commit suicide.

An eyewitness, Chukwuma Ani, shared the story. “I thought I was watching a movie. The man held the railing and tried to jump over it and that was when the yellow man held him and started shouting for help. The two of them nearly fell into the water. I quickly joined the yellow man to pull the guy out and while we were struggling with him, one P-Square twin brother, (Peter Okoye) and Banky W joined us to pull the man out,” Ani said.

A former associate of TeeBillz and musician, Saucekid, wrote on Instagram that he was not surprised. He shared: “It saddens me to see someone I had love for going thru it and keeping my mouth shut. I don’t do this social media bullshit. I mind my own business and handle my own business.

So many things happen behind closed doors, so many secrets will come out to the open, so many disappointments will happen even with the ones you truly love. What brings true happiness is finding you, being true to urself and worrying less about how others feel about u.

To say the least, being selfless is the key. I haven’t talked to my bro@teebillz323 in over 4 yrs nor have I seen him or cared to see him. But I must admit it saddens me to see him in such state. I coulda got ur fone number, email or whatever thru many means but I’d rather do it this way.

This is the only time I will use social media to express myself on this issue. None of these rants come as news to me. A lot of people will try to put dirt on your name and make u look bad at this tough time, do not break, All I have to say is whatever demons u fighting my G, come out on top.

Wish u the best.” The tale bears recalling that before their wedding, TeeBillz has had two kids with a lady in the United Kingdom. She had fought tooth and nail to keep her man who would later slip into the waiting hands of Savage in 2013.

True to type, Tee Billz would later deny the posts were not his but the handiwork of dare-devil hackers. But in an emotive confession Savage would later have with her friend, Azuka Ogujiuba yesterday, she held nothing back. Her words partly read; “Just before I went to Jamaica, I found out that I was pregnant. We were just trying to find out how we were going to manage another baby so soon.

I got to London, on a 10- hour flight to shoot a video with Busy Signal (Reggae Artiste). While doing my makeup, I found out I was bleeding and I passed out. I was rushed to the hospital, and we were trying to call TJ to tell him what happened. While we were sleeping at two AM a number called him saved as Edible Catering….

I checked his phone, and the number was asking him if she can come to his hotel. She responded that He (TJ) knocked her out last night, that he was a great night. I confronted him, and he said he took another woman to the hotel and said they were just chilling.

This happened the period I was in Jamaica, and I was in the hospital. I sent TJ pictures, and he was busy with another woman. I was in a hospital and you couldn’t be bothered find out what happened to me. I packed my stuff, took my son and went to my friend’s house, her name is Tiwa also. I stayed the night, and she asked me for the next step, I told her I was done.”
The New Telegraph - The Nigerian showbiz industry recorded one of its most extravagant wedding ceremonies of all time on April 26, 2014. And the white-wedding (as the traditional phase had held a couple of months before) which held at the luxurious Armani Hotel, Burj Khalifa, Dubai, was between Nigerian singing sensation and super diva, Tiwa Savage, 35 and Tunji Balogun in his late 30s, (a.k.a. TeeBillz, his manager and lover at the time).
