2019: PDP In Frantic Move For Rebranding, Considers Name Change; As Prof. Jerry Gana, Agbaje Hold Secret Meeting With Ladoja In Ibadan
Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the Chairman of the 85-member Peoples Democratic Party Strategy Review and Inter-Party Affairs Committee, Professor Jerry Gana, on Sunday, met with a former governor of Oyo State and national leader of the Accord Party, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, behind closed doors.

Gana who was in company of the 2015 governorship candidate of PDP in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje met Ladoja at Ondo Street Bodija residence in Ibadan and engaged in a meeting that lasted for three hours.

The duo of Gana and Agbaje were received by Ladoja and his political associates among whom were Senator Femi Lanlehin; Barrister Bayo Lawal; Chief Bayo Lawal; Professor Tunde Ayeleru; Hon. Fatai Adesina; Mr. Nureni Adisa; Alhaji Bashir Lawal and Dr Nureni Adeniran.

The visit came about two months after the governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, sent a delegation of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), led by Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu and a former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, to discuss third force arrangement with Ladoja in Ibadan.

Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Professor Gana said his committee, having sat for close to two months, decided to implement one of the key recommendations which was to “touch base with prime movers and genuine democrats who were solidly part of the PDP.”

It would be recalled that Ladoja dumped PDP in December 2010 in the wake of the division that tore the party apart in the build up to the 2011 general election in which he ran for the governorship of the state under the banner of the Accord Party.

The elsewhile Minister of Information, stressed the need for all genuine democrats to unite and rescue Nigeria from the ”ineptitude of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 general election.”

He noted that Ladoja and other democrats across party lines in the country needed to come together in the interest of sustainable democracy, peace, security and good governance in the country.

“We are here to really convey our good wish to Senator Rashidi Ladoja who, though is a key leader in Accord, is one of the founding fathers of the PDP. We are touching base with genuine democrats, those who really wish democracy well in Nigeria. We have come with a very clear message that all democrats must unite,” he said.

Asked if the PDP could attract leaders of other opposition parties to fuse into it in view of its leadership crisis, Gana said the crisis in the PDP was being blown out of proportion, saying that 95 per cent of the party’s leaders were on the same page.

He expressed optimism that the pending judgment of the Appellate Court on the leadership tussle in the party would clear all doubts about the authentic leadership of the party.

He added that the PDP would be re-invented after its committee submits its report and recommendations implemented, but declined to comment on whether the name of the party would be changed.

Our correspondent learnt that one of the proposals put to Gana by Ladoja camp was the need to change the name of the party to attract “genuine democrats.”

PDP Shocked As Akwa-Ibom Senator Decamps To APC

Nelson Effiong,
Senator Nelson Effiong,
The Peoples Democratic Party Senators at the Nigerian Senate Senate were all shocked this morning when it minority status as the Senate further shrank as a senator representing Akwa Ibom South, Nelson Effiong, cross-carpeted to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

The lawmaker announced his defection to the ruling party on the floor of the red chambers at today’s plenary.

Effiong, who cited party crisis as his reason for defection, said,“Over the past one year this party has disintegrated; because of the crisis in the party, I have decided to resign from the PDP and join the APC.”

In his reaction, the senate Minority leader, Godswill Akpabio, frowned at the decision, saying the lawmaker has automatically lost his senate seat because he became a senator under the platform of the PDP.

‎Akpabio warned that the party will contend Effiong’s continued stay in the senate in court.

Recall that a senator from Ondo south, Omoyele Omogunwa, had in November 2016, defected from the PDP to the APC.

PDP, APC Senators Spur For War As Plot To Sack Ekweremadu Thickens, Ready For Fight To Finnish

The National Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has asked the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, to call the bluff of the All Progressives Congress senators who asked him to defect to their party in order to retain his seat.

The APC senators, who are in the majority in the Senate, had asked Ekweremadu to defect from the PDP to the ruling party so that he could continue to have their support.

The majority senators said this after they had seamlessly removed the Senate Majority Leader, Ali Ndume, and replaced him with Ahmed Lawan.

However, the PDP asked Ekweremadu, who is the highest political office-holder from the opposition party, not to dance to the tune of the APC senators.

The PDP assured Ekweremadu that nothing would happen to him.

The spokesperson for the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee of the PDP, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, said this in a statement in Abuja on Thursday.

Adeyeye said it was wrong for Senator Kabiru Marafa of the APC to have called on Ekweremadu on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday to defect from the PDP to the ruling APC.

Adeyeye said the call on Ekweremadu was unconstitutional and undemocratic.

He said, “Our attention has been drawn to a statement credited to Senator Kabiru Marafa on the floor of the Nigerian Senate on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, in which he advised Senator Ike Ekweremadu to defect to the APC in order to remain as the Deputy Senate President.

“This call is unconstitutional, undemocratic and, to say the least, unbecoming of Senator Marafa.”

While calling on Ekweremadu to defect, Marafa had said,  “I am using this medium to call on Ekweremadu to simply defect. Section 68(G) of the 1999 Constitution captures this.”

Adeyeye, however, said there was no section of the constitution that stipulated that one must belong to the ruling party to hold an elective office in either the Senate or the House of Representatives.

The former Minister of Works said, “There is no section or clause of the Nigerian Constitution 1999 (as amended) that provides that one must be a member of the ruling party before he/she can be elected into any position in the Senate or the House of Representatives.

“Equally, it is very distasteful and uncharitable for any senator to stand on the floor of the hallowed chamber and ask his colleague to violate the constitution by cross-carpeting from his own party to join the ruling party.

“Note that it is the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and not the Senate of the APC.”

Adeyeye insisted that Senator Marafa was wrong in using the crisis in the PDP as an excuse to call on Ekweremadu to defect.

The PDP is currently divided into two factions.

While Makarfi is leading a group, a former governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff, is leading the other faction.

But Adeyeye maintained that the PDP was not factionalised.

He said, “It is indeed laughable for Senator Marafa to cite the internal issues in the PDP as a reason for Senator Ekweremadu to defect.

“For the umpteenth time, let us reiterate that there is no faction in the PDP.

“A party is only factionalised when its organs are in disarray but this is different from what we have in the PDP where all the organs are intact behind the National Caretaker Committee under the chairmanship of Makarfi.

“A mere rebellion by a small interest group within the party cannot be referred to as factionalisation of the party.”

In view of this, he said any member of the PDP who used the current leadership disagreement caused by “the rebellious group led by the former Borno State governor, Senator Sheriff to defect is doing so at his or her peril.”

“Senator Marafa or any other member of the APC has no power to make such demands on a member of the PDP,” he added.

He reminded Marafa that Ekweremadu was elected as Deputy Senate President by majority votes from both the PDP and the APC senators.

“Any attempt to remove Senator Ekweramadu for being a member of the opposition party and not because of a constitutional breach or incompetence is a call for anarchy,” he added.

Adeyeye also said the current situation in the Senate where the Senate President and the Deputy Senate President were from different parties should not continue to appear strange to Marafa and his likes in a democratic system.

EXCLUSIVE: How Buhari Paid PDP Governors The Highest Of The Paris Club Loan; See List Of Top 17 Beneficiary States & Amount Received
An exclusive report by The Nation Newspaper has revealed the sum gotten by the 35 out of the 36 State from the Paris Club Loan bailout by the Federal Government.

The President Muhammadu Buhari's Government had released the sum of N388.304 billion out of N522.74 billion to 35 states as refunds of over-deductions on London-Paris Club loans.

Topping the list of states with the hugest reimbursements according to The Nation are states controlled by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), contrary to their claims that they were being financially oppressed by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The biggest earners include Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta, Katsina, Kaduna, Lagos, Imo, Jigawa, Borno, Niger, Bauchi and Benue states.

But the reimbursement profile has shown that some governors fed their states with wrong figures of the sums given to them.

Investigation conducted by our correspondent revealed that 35 of the 36 states benefitted from the refunds of N388.304 billion.

Although most of the governors have begged the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, not to make the list of reimbursements public, The Nation was able to source the breakdown of the reimbursements exclusively.

The document indicated that all the 35 states were credited with their shares of the N388.304 billion as at December 27, 2016.

Our correspondent obtained the names of the bank, the account and the account numbers where each state’s share was remitted.

Only Kano State and the FCT have so far not benefitted from the reimbursements.

According to the list, Kwara State got two types of refund totaling more than N9.188 billion.

Kwara’s shares include N5,415,167,236.97 refund to the state government and N3,773,082,953.54 for its 16 local government areas.

Findings also confirmed that Ondo was only paid 50 per cent of its refunds (N6,513,392,932.28) because of leadership change in the state, which will soon lead to the inauguration of Chief Rotimi Akeredolu as the new governor.

A breakdown of the list of top beneficiaries of the refunds is as follows:

  1. Akwa Ibom, N14,500,000,000.00;
  2. Bayelsa, N14,500,000,000.00;
  3. Delta, N14,500,000,000.00;
  4. Kastina, N14,500,000,000.00;
  5. Lagos, N14,500,000,000.00;
  6. Rivers, N14,500,000,000.00;
  7. Kaduna, N14,362,416,363.24;
  8. Borno, N13,654,138,849.49;
  9. Bauchi, N12,792,664,403.93;
  10. Benue, N12,749,689,453.61;
  11. Sokoto, N11,980,499,096.97;
  12. Osun, N11,744,237,793.56;
  13. Anambra, N11,386,281,466.35;
  14. Edo, N11,329,495,462.04;
  15. Cross River, N11,300,139,741.28;
  16. Kogi, N11,211,573,328.19 and
  17. Kebbi, N11,118,149,054.10.

The document said: “Ondo payment represents 50 per cent of the refund due to transition of leadership in the state. Further instructions are being awaited on balance payment.

“Adamawa, Kwara 22b on the list, Oyo and Taraba payments represent the portions due to the respective local governments.”

But the Presidency was uncomfortable with the attitude of some state governors to the management of the refunds.

Responding to a question, another source in government said: “It is unfortunate that some state governors under-declared the refunds made to them.

“Some of them were also discovered to be giving spurious analysis in order to cover up the actual figures.

“In fact, some states changed the agreement overnight.

“A state said the President asked states to use at least 25 per cent of their London and Paris Club refund to offset salary arrears.”

Investigation showed that about N134.44 billion out of the approved N522.74 billion will soon be paid as refunds to some states.

The top government source added: “Yes, as at December 27, 2016, all the 35 states had received the N388.3 billion refunds. The balance of N134.44 billion will soon be accessed.”

Following protests by states against over-deductions for external debt service between 1995 and 2002, President Muhammed Buhari had on December 2, 2016 approved the release of N522.74 billion to states as refunds pending reconciliation of records.

Each state is entitled to a cap of N14.5 billion being 25 per cent of the amounts claimed.

But the government has raised a team to scrutinise claims by states and reconcile with available records.

These developments were contained in a statement issued in Abuja by the Special Adviser on Media to the Minister of Finance, Mr. Festus Akanbi.

The statement said: “The Federal Government has reached a conditional agreement to pay 25% of the amounts claimed subject to a cap of N14.5 billion to any given state. Balances due thereafter will be revisited when fiscal conditions improve.

“Mr. President’s overriding concern is for the welfare of the Nigerian people, considering the fact that many states are owing salaries and pension, causing considerable hardship.

“Therefore, to ensure compliance with the directive that a minimum of 50% of any amount disbursed is dedicated to this, funds will be credited to an auditable account from which payments to individual creditors would be made. Where possible, such payments would be made to BVN linked accounts and verified.”

But any state paid refunds in excess of its outstanding claims might suffer deduction from its monthly allocations from the Federation Account.

It said: “Due to the fact that reconciliation is still ongoing and the final outcome might show an under or overstatement of claims, an undertaken has been signed by state governors, declaring that in the event the amount already paid exceeds the verified claim, the surplus would be deducted directly from the state’s monthly FAAC allocations.

“The total amount approved by the President is N522.74 billion and is to be paid in batches. The first batch of N153.01 billion is currently being processed for release to 14 state governments.

“The release of these funds is intended to support the fiscal stimulus programme of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to provide direct stimulus through government spending. It is particularly aimed at boosting demand at consumer level and reversing the slowdown in economic activity.”

Wike, As Executive Tout-General of Nigeria, By Abiodun Israel

wike
Certainly, many Nigerians believe Rivers state Govornor, Barrister Nyesom Wike ought not to be the executive governor of the state. No debasing lexicon can sufficiently define Wike’s roguery and thuggery instincts.

As a lawyer, Wike knows the limit of freedom of speech and what to say on any matter that would offend the law. But for the simple reason of foibles to conquer his beastly character, Wike overlooks his executive status and frequently parrots profane things like a woman under perpetual heat.

The long overdue Rivers state legislative re-run elections have just been concluded. And for the 13 legislative seats in contention, comprising state and national assembly slots, the APC cornered 7 seats, while Wike’s party, the opposition PDP snatched six seats.

And this reality has so much infuriated Wike to the extent of losing his months of “refrigerated” calmness. That the PDP failed to clinch all the seats in contention in the re-run ballot has badly bruised Wike’s ego and he feels, what his party could not get at the polls, it is his sacred duty to make it up through sacrilegious utterances.

And as usual, Wike has unleashed his baseless invectives on President Muhammedu Buhari, desperately seeking to not only drag the President’s untainted reputation into the legislative race, but to also rubbish the essence of his government. To prescribe a psychiatric test for Governor Wike would amount to underestimating a serious matter because he is already an automatic landlord of the burning furnaces of hell fire.

Nursing wounds of electoral rejection by Rivers people and conquest by APC, Wike sights a bleak political future badly pierced by his brazen misconducts. Coated in immunity, the governor believes in his narrowed knowledge that might is power or lawlessness is strength and shouting loudest is wisdom.

Thus, he declared in the aftermath of the Rivers re-run election that; “You saw the kind of invasion we witnessed on December 10 by security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC). It is clear that with what we saw in Rivers, if the President declares he wants to run in 2019, then we should expect a Tsunami, anybody that does not want it should go away. There will be fighter jets. The only thing that was not deployed to the state on December 10 was fighter jet. We may see that, in 2019, if the President says he wants to contest the presidential election.”

Indeed, Nigeria deserves pity and the country has to be so pitied because men like Wike and his Ekiti state friend and Colleague, Governor Ayo Fayose have found themselves into positions of power and they thus, brand themselves leaders of the people. They are this lucky because the system is cursed and skewed!

The last Rivers state re-run is the second rescheduled legislative elections that eventually held. The first suffered senseless violence because Wike turned a civic exercise into war, by arming mobilized thugs and cultists to ensure PDP’s victory. They killed maimed and prosecuted all manner of arson on voters, and security agents. His agents kidnapped INEC officials and seized the ballot before the blast of the whistle from the electoral umpire.

If the world was amazed that Idi Amin of Uganda spilled the blood of his country men and women to hold unto the clutches of power, the Wike of Rivers has dwarfed his records. The once affectionate and inviting epitaph of the oil rich Rivers state has changed from the “Garden City” to “Rivers of blood,” since Wike forced himself unto power.

Contented at his innate weakness of not checkmating his dubious quest for power, Wike envisions the 2019 general elections, which he now targets desperately in re-election, sees a bleak political future. So, it’s enough reason to bark and squirm based on his self-inflicted pain at the rest of humanity.

He predicts the next general elections in these words; “It will be like war. ‘If you don’t agree, we bomb you’. If you can bring 28,000 policemen, three helicopters, 20 gunboats and then train special military all for legislative rerun elections in Rivers, then I have my fear for 2019. You cannot believe it that that Divisional Police Officers, DPOs, were all transferred on the eve of the December 10 elections.”

But the same number of security agents have been deployed to states conducting isolated elections in Nigeria. Rivers state instance is therefore not unique. Wike is free to ask his trusted friend, Ekiti state’s Governor, Ayo Fayose whom they share several affinities and identities.

Erroneously though, Wike deludes himself with the notion that as the Chief Security Officer of the state, it is also his responsibility to redeploy officers of the police or other security agencies. It will only amuse you to understand, Wike is a lawyer, but with such perverse thinking; someone who does not know the limits of his power, but a corrupt system, unfortunately, throws him up to lead a state.

Accepted, political violence has been a part of the electoral process in Nigeria. Even those who believe in it, like Wike, changed their dispositions, when they became governors of states. At least, they pretended to have called for disarmament. Imo state, Governor Rochas Okorocha and the Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom have displayed these pretensions. But Wike would not be such nice. Rather, he has regrouped the armed thugs and cultists, which his predecessor and Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi demobilized.

So, the Rivers re-run legislative election turned violent for the second time, because Wike unleashed his “boys” to attack anyone against the interest of his party-PDP. A senior police officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Mohammed Alkali and his driver were murdered in cold blood by Wike’s armed thugs and cultists in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local government area of the state on the day of the rescheduled re-run elections.

DSP Alkali and his driver were beheaded and their mutilated bodies thrown into the river like chaff. The community is Wike’s backyard, which is notorious for murdering security agents, including soldiers since he became governor.

An arrested suspect identified as Chukwuemela Ekikeme, alias “Prince Okoroma,” who led a nine-member gang that murdered DSP Alkali has not only confessed to the crime, but explained that they were prompted to act because they felt the security agents were against their party.

It is only in Nigeria that the likes of Wike exhibit this level of insanity. Elsewhere, he would have been caged or struggling to quell masses revolt against him. In spite of everything, Wike want Nigerians to believe that what is not fair to his violent instincts is not fair to the morality of others.

But while screaming and shouting the inanities, Wike has conveniently forgotten about his satanic move to compromise the same re-election by allegedly bribing INEC officials to rig the results on his behalf. Although Wike has denied knowledge of the audio which has gone viral, but no one expects him to accept anyway.

Before any expert forensic analysis of the audio tape, the morphology of the spoken words sounds every inch the voice of “Emperor Wike.” The audio tape said, when an INEC official allegedly complained on phone of intimidation from executing the governor’s assignment of rigging the ballot in another location, Wike lost his cool and threatened to kill whoever would not deliver after collecting his money. Or alternatively, failure to return the money collected.

Wike retorted sharply; “Ikwerre did it, they couldn’t even do anything… They should return what they gave them or I will kill them”, Wike threatened the Plateau state deployed INEC officials for the elections.

Wike can go ahead and curse the gods who decreed his birth among humans, instead of his rightful place in the animal kingdom. But he must not transfer his frustrations and pending electoral doom on Buhari.

President Buhari’s sophistry and decency does not know of the existence of a loathsome character called Wike in Nigeria. The grandstanding, with fingers stained with blood are enough to make Wike insane. But having declared himself the Governor-General of touts and hooligans, he must not forget that Buhari has never been his mate and he would never be one. Let him lick his wounds and wait for 2019, when his people would again reject him more resoundingly at the polls.

Thereafter, he would not only be a prisoner of his own conscience and the vacated throne of blood, but also walk himself freely into prison. After all, Nigerians have not forgotten how he allegedly cornered about N75 billion idle funds in TETFund’s account, as supervising minister of education under former President Goodluck Jonathan, which he deployed to bloodily rig himself into power. The day of reckoning is near. It is just the difference between his immunity and its removal.

PDP Senator, Former Deputy Governor Dump Party For APC

Another PDP Senator, Former Deputy Governor Dump Party For APC
The immediate past Deputy governor of Plateau State, Mr. Ignatius Longjan, Thursday, officially dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Senator Joshua Dariye was among several other PDP members who officially defected to the ruling APC in the State and were received by the National Chairman of the party, Dr John Oyegun, at the Rwang Pam Township stadium in Jos.

In his remarks after receiving the decampees, Oyegun said President Muhammadu Buhari was working day and night to change the nation for better, assuring that by this time next year, Nigerians would have cause to smile despite the challenges the present administration inherited.

“With the diversification of the economy being carried out by our President, by this time next year, the importation of rice would be a thing of the past, most of our major roads in the country would soon be repaired.

“President Buhari has Plateau citizens at heart, I call on citizens of the state and the country at large to continue to support President Muhammadu Buhari.

“I’m impressed by the good work governor Lalong is doing in the State.

I must commend him for providing the dividends of democracy to the people of the State.

“The governor did excellently well in ensuring victory for the APC in the last Ondo elections; we call on the people of the state to continue to support him at all times”, Oyegun stated.

Also speaking, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, said the APC was built on foundation of Justice.

“Our party the APC is working hard to transform the nation, this administration is sincere and would not let Nigerians down”, he assured.

In his address, Governor Simon Lalong, said “This is the return of who is who in Plateau, the APC in Plateau has come to stay and I believe the party would capture more States in the future elections.

“The challenges we met in the state when we came into power are being tackled as a result of the support we are getting from President Muhammadu Buhari.

“In Plateau, we are determined to better the lives of citizens as we are paying salaries up to December. We would continue to provide the dividends of democracy to the people”, he assured.

Rivers Rerun: Gov. Wike's Leaked Audio Tape of Bribery And Threatening of INEC Officials Sparks Fresh Thong-War

 Wike's Leaked Audio Tape of Bribery And Threatening of INEC Officials
Controversy has greeted a leaked audio recording in which a voice bearing a striking similarity with that of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, was heard admitting bribery and threatening to kill electoral officers in the December 10 rerun elections in Rivers State.

The All Progressives Congress on Thursday said the leaked audio recording confirmed its worst fears that the elections were rigged.

It noted that revelations contained in the said recording, made public by an online newspaper, Sahara Reporters, on Thursday, provided evidence of alleged unwholesome practices.

The party also said the audio recording was a pointer to the fact that the governor might have compromised the integrity of the electoral process and the integrity of his office as Chief Security Officer.

This was contained in a statement signed by the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, in Abuja.

He said, “The leaked audio recording showing the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, admitting to bribing some electoral officials and threatening to kill them if his instructions were not followed, has confirmed the fears raised by the All Progressives Congress in the countdown to the recently conducted December 10, 2016, legislative rerun elections in the State.

“Going by the revelations from the leaked audio recording, it is obvious that Governor Wike might have engaged in unwholesome conducts that might have compromised the integrity of the electoral process and undermined his office as the Chief Security Officer of a state.

“The only logical conclusion from this, therefore, is that the electoral victories of the Peoples Democratic Party might have been achieved through underhand dealings and intimidation of officials.”

The statement recalled that the APC alerted security agencies to reports of massive arm build-up and sinister plots by Wike and the PDP.

It said, “On December 6, 2016, the APC alerted security agencies to reports of a massive arms build-up and other sinister plots that Wike and the PDP planned to execute on the day of the legislative rerun elections in Rivers State.

“Nigerians have watched with grave concern how the process of the just concluded legislative rerun elections has led to the deaths of ordinary citizens in the state, including security officers. The statement that Governor Wike appeared to have made on the record has now pointed directly at where responsibility should be placed for the violence that attended the election.”

The APC also argued that the audio recording provided evidence that the allegation by the Rivers State Government and the Peoples Democratic Party of an assassination threat on Wike and the allegation by Wike that APC governors funded violence in the state during the election might have been deliberately contrived to hide the role the governor played in the violence that attended the election.

It also urged security agencies to do the needful and ensure that the sponsors and perpetrators of violence, no matter how highly placed, were brought to justice.

But the Rivers State Government has denied the allegation that Wike threatened to kill an official of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The Rivers State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Austin Tam-George, said on Thursday that the governor never made any contact with INEC officials in person or through the telephone.

Tam-George argued that the online outfit, Saharareporters.com, engaged in an audio impersonation of the governor, using a voice changer technology.

 “We categorically deny these latest allegations as a sick fabrication, an outright lie. Governor Wike never made any contact with INEC officials in person or by telephone.

“Saharareporters.com is the online propaganda bullhorn of the All Progressives Congress. Their publications are typically false and the writers are professional hawkers of fiction.

“No one would have thought that the APC and its cowardly media allies would resort to an audio impersonation of Governor Nyesom Wike, using a voice changer technology.

“The voice changer technology is often used by teenagers mainly in South Korea and Japan to launch innocent technological pranks at each other, mainly for laughs.

“The APC and Saharareporters.com are inmates in the prison of their own lies. We reject the latest blackmail by the APC,” he added.

After Ubah;s declaration, many of Senator Ubah’s followers assumed he was going to contest under the banner of PDP – particularly being that he had held the party in Anambra together for several years, alone. Political spectators assumed PDP was going to be his jersey come 2017. But unofficial discussions with handlers of Senator Ubah indicates that the Senator may have finalized plans of his entry into the ruling party, 247Ureport says

One of his trusted aide cautioned that the Senator isn’t joining the APC as his only means to defeat the incumbent Governor.

“He does not need APC to defeat Obiano. He can defeat Obiano with or without APC“.

The aide however did not disclose why the Senator decided to consider APC as his new party of choice.

The aide did reveal that the APC had been on an aggressive recruitment exercise for politicians from the South East to help bolster the APC image in the said region. The recent entry of the former two-time governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, is said to be part of the recruitment exercise of the APC.

“Other South East politicians are expected to announce their defection from the PDP to the APC. Some are expected to leave the All Progressive Grand Alliance [APGA] to join the APC“.

When Senator Andy Ubah was contacted according to 247Ureports, Ubah neither confirm nor deny his entry into the ruling party.

He stated that his major concern remains serving the people of his constituency. “Our youths need jobs and skills to earn a good living. I have been able to get meaningful jobs to over 400 youths from my constituency. I have also been able to influence over 300 projects in my constituency. And it is still not enough. I am busy trying to add to the list. APC is a political party but service to my people is what my job is. When I become governor, my people will see the difference.”
